Thanks for sharing your experience! I passed my TP test on my 1st try fortunately but I drove really very slowly during the circuit to play safe and I remember that he was irritated haha. Anyway good job!! 👏🏻

Thank you for sharing your experience! It's encouraging to know that we aren't alone in this. I failed my first attempt yesterday mounting a kerb at a place i've never mounted before, gosh, the things nerves do to you. May I know if you went for revision lessons between the tests?
Thank you for watching! Sorry to hear. Ugh I remember the moment of realization after I mounted and hit kerb like it was yesterday. If I remember correctly, I went for one more lesson in the circuit leading up to the test (since you know, our mistakes were avoidable if we weren’t nervous!) and on the testing day I went for revision lesson (circuit + road) before my test. Wishing you all the best for your second attempt!
Yes.. i did go for 5 revision before tp test.. but I took quick book tp test in October soon. Wheread i am not confident in parking
Was quite kiasu considering the amount of lessons i took. Frankly speaking I didnt know what i was doing till the last 10 lessons where I understood what my DI was talking about.
Spent around $2.3k in total even though I barely scrapped through with 18pts in my first attempt.
My mistakes were turning too sudden in circuit, not looking at the direction i was turning towards the last right turn before going on the road, failure to adjust side mirror before going on main road(didnt want to deduct pts for delay in turning) and not moving into pocket for right turn. For first attempt, will definitely feel kan chiong, slow n steady. No need to rush to complete the test.

My total damage was also around there (inclusive of my failed tests) but passing on first attempt eliminated the disappointment of failing so the money spent was worth it. I don't remember having to adjust side mirrors before going on main road for my case though; maybe we were using different cars.
Were your lessons 1hr or 1.5hr ones or have both before

hello, in circuit, do u keep the side mirrors down all the way until to the main road then adjust it back to normal? or u adjust back after parking is done?
My instructor's car auto adjusts the side mirrors when switched to parking mode. Hope you have found the answer (sorry for the late response) but replying in case others might have the same question - if your instructor's car doesn't do that, keep the side mirrors normal in circuit when not trying to park for safety reasons.

I just purchased my basic theory driving test 480 questions & answers book from popular book store and started memorizing them past 2 days. It's kind of challenging memorizing them. any tips on how to pass the BTT. tks
Thank you so much. For BTT and FTT, I find that booking the trial before the tests helped a lot. When you go sit for the actual test, the questions and answers will be fresh in your head from the trial test. But I hope you're reaching the final stretch on getting your license now!

Do you need to get approval from your private instructor before you can book for practical test? I have already taken about 20++ lessons with private instructor. He keeps saying I need to take more. So I'm starting to get impatient now. I prefer to take the test regardless of the outcome.
Yes, you need your private instructor's approval before booking for practical test because you will have to "rent/borrow" his car for the test. On average, instructors will get students to book the test after 15-25 lessons depending on how ready they think you are. Try talking to him about it to see what's stopping him from letting you try taking the test. If unable to communicate with him on the issue, I'd suggest to switch instructor. Hope you got it sorted by now!

Yup! Circuits are payable for private students in addition to the rate your PDI charges per lesson. Total price varies between different PDIs, it could've increased due to covid and time too but for comparison, mine was $74 for circuit. Normal on-the-road lessons were $38 on weekdays and $40 on weekends.
I failed my tp 3 times. First time i was unprepared. I strike the curb but i still managed to go out into the road and got 2 immediate failures and 22 demerit points. My second time i had 16 demerit points and 1 immediate failure for a choice that i made. I decided to move forward after stopping at a stop line because the oncoming vehicles were slow and i had enough time to make the turn. BUT...i got immediate failure for not waiting for oncoming vehicles to pass. My 3rd try. I was prepared to pass. BUT GUESS WHAT...the instructor was fierce as hell and he gave me 56 DEMERIT POINTS. Hais..heartbroken and broke...

Bad luck bro.. Tbh tp test all depends on the tester. I fail my second test today,same mistake like u. I decided to make a left turn on a give way line,while the car was quite far from me,so i just make a turn. And yep,i fail.
I agree that TP test depends on your luck for the tester, at least to a certain extent. On the bright side, some of these incidents will help us be more careful after we pass and actually are driving on the road by ourselves. Just don't give up!

How do you book lessons with your driving instructor? Is it through the school which they help you find and fix the instructor but you learn outside or you have to find the instructor yourself
I booked the lessons via WhatsApp messaging to my private driving instructor. I went through private so I contacted the PDI to engage him myself. Found him from online.
Based on what I know last time, if you go through school then the driving centre will give you a booklet and appoint an instructor for your every lesson (not sure if you have to book the lessons through portal or they have other arrangements to book lessons for learners going through the school route; you need to check with the centre or look around the website after logging in) and each lesson the instructor will “sign” to indicate you’ve done the lesson, so the next instructor will be aware and be able to track the number of lessons you did. Might not get the same instructor twice.
Yes previously when I was learning and from my understanding for those going through school, you will learn outside on the road first and once instructor thinks you’re ready, they will let you learn the circuit.

How many revision lesson before u take TP?
After failing my first one I remember going for a few lessons so I won't lose touch with driving. Then second failed attempt I don't think I went for anymore till the 1 revision on the test day. Because mistakes that failed me were mistakes I never made during normal lessons so it was just something I had to take note of myself.
