Beautiful work! Love these videos. Greetings from Enola, PA.
Hello Jared! THanks for watching brother! ~Eddie
This Basement turned into a cool new space that was a a lot of fun to finish! I hope it gives you a few good ideas for your new finished basement space. ~Eddie
Thanks for your 6 video basement framing series! It has helped us finish our basement. It gives everything in detail, and every detail is how it should be.
I love your videos, I have learned so much. Thank you so much !!
This is a great basement finishing job! Thanks for sharing!
I have a 2,300 sf basement that I started working on, I'm a first timer and doing it all myself and I couldn't tell you how helpful your videos have been. Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching my brother! Good luck with the project Nefi! - Eddie
Fantastic job Eddie, as usual! I am glad to see more of the flooring you are doing
looks amazing nice work guys
Amazing work
love this so much!
Great work
Awesome work! Do you have any plans on videos for HVAC and ductwork in basements? Your videos have been so helpful.
How far apart are you placing the wafer lights? Also, what K setting? It looks great!
I love the videos. I was wondering what you use to finish the tops of the half walls you build? Also what kind of trim you use?
We are located in Montgomery, PA. Wish you were closer! Awesome work. Gonna need to check out your training courses.
Thanks for watching Sai!
Excellent videos, I have learned so much from them, thank you so much and now I am finishing my own basement. I have a questions though, in one of the videos I saw you installing baseboard trim 1/2 in above concrete floor, leaving a gap for carpet installation, how much space do you leave for vinyl plank flooring? And do the prehung doors need similar gap? Thanks Sal
We install the Vinyl Plank flooring before the trim and doors are installed. -Eddie
Hello. Do you happen to have any videos showing hanging drywall on ceilings? Specifically dealing with crowned joists.? Whether you should pack out the other joists with some thin rips or stagger the drywall based off of where the crown falls or not so your seam doesn't fall on the crown. Thank you
Can you make a video series please about metal framing the basement. Here in Ontario, Canada a lot of contractors are now using metal studs for framing basements.
I wish you were located in Atlanta. Would love to have you do our basement! What was that flooring? Do you have a brand? It's perfect!
Love your work. Sent an email. Looking fortunate to hear from you
Very nice Eddie. Were there columns in the wall along side the stairs that you boxed around? I have a column at about the 5th step that stands adjacent to the stairs. I like how you bumped out the wall at about the 5th and again at the end on the other side of tV. I may consider doing that in my project.
Yes correct we had one at the banister area and made a fake coulmn on the other side just to balance-out the wall for the TV.
Interested in your bar area sink setup. How does the sink sump pump system vent? Planning on a wet bar area in our basement family room area. Thanks for sharing this video.
Either Studor or direct vent outside...depends on local plumbing codes as to which way we proceed. ~Eddie
@@BasementFinishingMan , thanks so much, I’m your newest “watch every vid” follower. Is there a reason you typically mount a Studor vent around 48” high? Most sure-vents show 4” to 6” mounting height. Is it a local code for you or does it allow it to work better? Again, thanks.
Do you level the concrete floor before you begin construction, or just leave it with the slight slope that is built in?
Normally we are leaving the floor as is Chris...unless it's just so drastic that it needs leveled... ~Eddie
Any recommendations for Nashville Tn
I’m sure it’s covered in another video, where the construction is documented; did you have to dig under the foundation floor to install a symphony toilet? I was planning on putting a full bathroom subterra and was thinking a sanoflo type device for toilet, sink and shower, instead of extreme plumbing. Would you recommend this or suggest “traditional plumbing”?
Traditional always Keo. Not a fan of Sanoflo toilets... ~Eddie
Eddie, love the video’s. I have a question. We just purchased a new home with an unfinished 2,000 sq ft basement. Would be willing to do a design for us for a fee?
Yes, absolutely. eddie-case.mykajabi.com/store/bqFWznsV
👍👍👍
Hoping to get a bit of advice, dealing with a remodeled older home that I purchased. Let's just say that they did a better job hiding problems than fixing them!
But for people on this page I have a question:
The basement is 'finished'. The ceiling is open floor joists painted black. The issue is there is A LOT of rubble and dust that falls from the floor above, and yes, way more than normal, its like they didn't even sweep after demoing out the old plaster walls and its all falling through.
I can't find any advice on how to address the issue.
I thought... Caulk every gap?! That's a lot of work, but I'm willing. I just worry the natural movement of the floor both from impact and temperature will cause it to fail.
I thought... Vapor Barrier / Insulation? I could staple up material in most of the area, basement is climate controlled, will that cause any issues? (getting more expensive)
I thought... Spray foam? I could hire a spray foam company but is that over kill? (an probably the most expensive)
It's not a situation where I can easily finish the whole ceiling in drywall due to ducts and plumbing, and the height is about 7ft to the bottom of the floor joists.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Don't you need to drywall under the steps if you put a door and enclose under the stairs? Or am I thinking something else? Love the content btw!
No, you can create an unfinished space under a staircase with a door to enter it and still be code. ~Eddie
@@BasementFinishingMan good to know. Thanks!
I live in Indiana and inspector said all I have to do is just drywall bottom side of stairs for firblocking to make it usable space.
Eddie I did not catch your company name to call for you to come out for consultation. How can we get in contact with your company?
