They made it so instead of one thing setting him off making him a maniac to someone who you can forgive without thinking about should or shouldn't you kill him. Pretty interesting
This feels more like a retcon as a reaction to people hating GG!sans more than anything, but I guess it makes him more interesting. This'll surely change people's opinion about him. Though I did prefer the maniac murderer who turned to killing people purely because of extreme nihilism. Like how OG Sans turned to jokes and lazinesss because of nihilism.

well usually it's a build up of things until the one thing comes and makes him a maniac and here we are getting exposition of that build up instead of him say "Oh no I became bad because of specifically THIS EVENT"
Unfortunate for him: In my playthrough I'm going with a Neutral route where I kill the Section's main boss. Mostly so I have some extra health to work with while playing the game and to see what sort of ending, or endings, you get from doing a Neutral run.
while i did like the character that we fought on previous patches, it was hard to call him "sans" with how entirely disconnected he was from the actual sans's personality. this was a good change if the creator wanted to make this au more believable in the actual undertale universe. that being said, based on how he openly threatens frisk during the pacifist, i can't say him not having the will to kill a child was the change that made him more believable, rather him being open minded enough for you to spare him.
Eh, tbh, I'd have liked if they saved a moment like this for the actual GG!UF rather than DeltaTraveler, I liked the idea of this Sans not being fully spared by the fun gang due to them being passed by the AU more than anything while leaving the actual sparing part to the Frisk of this AU
That does make sense, but the child he was about to kill was a fellow monster child. The reason why sans openly threatened frisk is because of their correlation to the freedom of the underground. and even if frisk seems to be a good person in the pacifist route, sans himself (and some other monsters) does talk about how resentful monsterkind feels towards humankind, the ones that trapped them in the underground.
@@perrykv7312I was thinking GGFell was going to be left in an awkward spot by Deltatraveller already surpassing where the story was left off, and this update just compounds that issue to me. I do wonder what they plan to do from here.
Well you have some good reasoning but the sans that is shown is based of a different au, the term au stands for alternate universe with Undertale some aus include Underswap story shift last breath and the list goes on and on but back to why sans was like that the video shows Underfell sans in which Underfell is an au I hope this helps you understand a bit more clearly 😊
Honestly I kind of get the impression that GG underfill is going to get rebooted. It seems like the creator still has interest in underfill but has learned a lot over the years and wants to start fresh. I could be mistaken but my guess would be this is kind of the end of the road for this version of the AU
Suzie was the most cathartic kill Fell!Sans has done... Until it wasn't And finally he can be turned good, in true Underfell fashion, better than put him to sleep and move on. And while I do think that unredeeable villains with 0 explanations on why they do what they do is metal, not even Underfell is the best place for those types
I think this honestly fits more. I can see Sans losing himself and going off the deep end, taking a much more violent past of Nihlism. But in the end, I can't see him TRULY liking it. This feels a lot more believable to me.
@@BeTalf Well, Sans has always been one to keep secrets. A version of the Delta Warriors did something to him, and it was the catalyst for his spiral into madness.
Technically he never apologised or even showed any sign that he doesn't hate Kris still. My headcanon is that he still hates the Delta Warriors, but was too overcome by guilt to acknowledge them at that moment.
Ok I really like the new ending, Sans's depression and hopelessness being amplified but the horrible world of Underfell, being extended from just apathy to a suicidal idealation in destroying the entire world is really heartbreaking.
Idc what they say, this ending is way better The only thing i hated abt gg!sans is that he had ZERO reason for what he did. Now he does. Even if it wasnt fully justified. He doesnt feel like a genocidal "cool" sans oc that has meaningless bloodlust It isnt perfect but its SO much better
Honestly, what I am more surprised about is that people seem to miss the subtext. Entirely within this ending, we get explicit confirmation that Sans had met a "Susie", and said Susie (which contextually is implied to have been with a Kris and a Noelle) did something to him big enough to make him want to take vengeance for it. That never happened in the end tho, because against Suzy he understood that she wasn't anywhere near the same Susie that did something to him, and against deltatraveler Susie he was forced to think about the entire situation while resting. THAT is what made him snap out. (Fyi, from what I can gather past the context of the ending, deltatraveler considers the vanilla and gg!fell Sans' to come from a destroyed Deltarune world, ence why the fact that this Sans is MORE violent against the party)
Eh, tbh, this one kinda feels like a Dust Sans without the "Frisk, I remember you're genocides" part, it feels somewhat underwhelming, I'm not against the idea of this Sans not having a spare ending, but I feel like, if anything, it should've been saved for GG!Underfell rather than DeltaTraveler
Yeah, I'm not feeling this. It's simply such an obvious "noooo forgive sans--look, he didn't actually kill an orphan, he's forgiveable !1!1!" on the part of the creator, and it just feels cheap. Like someone else said in the comment section, I would've had *Susie* talk with him, hash it out (with him truly having killed her UF self) and then break him down in some way. That would've been a way to tie the Underfell experience into a neat little bow.
I say yes... but I also understand that there are some so rooted in their ways that they refuse to change or even have the self-awareness to acknowledge that there's something wrong with them. To become a better person, you have to be capable looking at yourself and admitting that you have a problem, or problems, and need to have the strength to either make those changes or to seek out help.
For everyone saying its out of character for GG!Fell Sans to even do any of this, this actually fits with how Pacifist works in Underfell. You make them snap out of it. You make them better people. I wouldn't be surprised if this were to happen in the actual animation series when it eventually continues, because this feels like something that would actually happen in it. It feels shoehorned in, sure, but I don't think its THAT out of character, even if it is a little. I also think people should remember that this used to be normal Undertale Sans, he can likely be redeemed if that's the case.
I love how this explains better sans' motive and character other than just doing this for fun. It conveys so much more emotions, so many more thoughts for us to reconsider what he truly is while also makes us feel sastified that we've just helped someone to turn on a new leaf. I love their directions here and I'm more than excited to see whats to come in the next updates!
With this simple change, GG fells sans is now way much better now he doesn't feel like the overly edgy sans with the "I KILLEF ORPHAN!!!" thing anymore. Fr that dialogue was very awkward to take serious, and funny enough it feel like sans was lying to make he feel more threatening
He surly would become our puppet by doing that and like that we either will redeem him for his actions or will make him a more monster than he already is
I really do not enjoy what this new ending does to Fell retroactively. For me at least, the entire point of the character was his entirely unredeemable personality and actions. He was designed to be a completely and utterly deranged person. That being said he wasn't well written even if i did enjoy it. One thing i like about this ending is giving him a motivation beyond "I'm evil lol" and "yall did something I'll never be specific about, die." The idea he just got so sick of everyone he knew, including himself, suffering everyday he snapped and wanted to end everything and everyone Is a really good idea at a base level. It parallels og Sans' nihilism. It's a reasonable explanation as to why he started killing and went down the slippery slope and it gives a legitimate reason why he wants a soul beyond being power hungry. It also parallels og Sans' laziness with fell actively persuing his goal near constantly throughout the chapter and losing most of his other "Sans" traits like the constant puns, role as judge and love toward his brother. Then they follow up that reveal with a breakdown which i absolutely hate. The whole concept of LOVE and EXP is that it dulls your abilty to feel sympathy and makes it easier for you to hurt others. Something Fell Sans shows A LOT during his screentime prior to his fight. He murders indiscriminately and fairly frequently according to Papyrus, almost kills Papyrus (if you choose to walk past his letter bomb), knocks him off a huge cliff, and went out of his way to attempt to murder an orphan just because he thought they were a younger version of someone he hated. He absolutely has more wherewithal to endure some proding into his actions and revealing the fact he didn't actually kill Suzy if he was fine potentially killing his brother twice. On that point, while i kinda like the fact he didn't have the killer instinct to murder a child, at the same time he absolutely should have. This Sans is completely insane in 95% of his screentime and develops a conscience when its convient to the plot. At least that's how i feel about it. He isn't my character, and i have no say in how he was objectively supposed to be written or turn out, but it feels like such a u-turn. Not every villain needs to have a sympathetic motivation or a emotional breakdown or hesitate to do heinous actions. Again, i do like how the basis of his downward spiral was a "noble" goal of ending everyone's suffering but everything else here is so fuckin sloppy imo. Tl:dr: He shoulda stayed irredeemable but i like the new motivation.
Agree, I feel like you should talk more, maybe having Susie and Noelle talk as well, but I get why ut was this way, as GG underfell was because of a glitch, and when it was removed and Sans turned back to white, his senses came back aswell
Damn I really like this ending, probably my favourite. In the regular pacifist spare ending I like how Papyrus gives up his dreams of being a royal guard and abandons the battle body, but Sans is still in that pyschotic mindset and would still want to kill everyone, plus he's RIGHT BY THE DOOR, so he could try and kill those in other worlds cause he only sees the negative side of everything. This new one gives a better ending and fits the pacifist route more.
I mean i would expect some kind of this ending at first time when i saw deltaraveler. And it's maybe make em have other personality besides heartless maniac and stuff- (I'm kinda accept this aighty) But lemme jus' say. *We are not killing orphans with this one* 💀
gotta be honest chief. this sucks i don't like how contrived it feels after going through the rest of the route it doesn't feel earned, it just feels like it comes out of nowhere. i know most people don't like dark shit and want for there to be happier endings but this ain't it; him suddenly changing his mind? "snapping out of it"? this doesn't happen like the way it's portrayed here, you don't instantly see the error in your ways (especially if you have shit tons of LOVE) and decide "welp, guess i was stupid". i liked the fact the previous ending was unsatisfying, because it made sense and left us with an understanding that there really wasn't anything else we could have done. now it's just cheap
I would make you have to talk more with him, but I get what happened, as in the gg universe monsters were corrupted by a bug and became evil, only turning back to normal after snapping back. And while I feel like the after Sans is alright with this backstory, I feel like he snapped out of it too fast
Yeah, people forget that 70% that's happening is because of a computer bug, and when It's removed and they turn back to normal/white, they're like "what the hell was I doing"
@@GROAT72We already know all of the future sections, Section 4 is A Link to the Past, Section 5 is TS!Underswap, Section 6 is Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, Section 7 is Toontown, and Section 8 is Lostcore/Gaster.
3:54 This is a distorted mentality, sans. If you want to change the world, you shouldn't destroy it. It will disappear, it won't suffer anyway, you will suffer more because you took away other people's wishes. If you choose to change it instead of doing that, then everyone will not suffer. *because burning or destroying a world does not make that world any better than ending it anyway.*
Well it is too bad that they mentioned Undyne because considering how insane the royal guard requirements must be I don't think Undyne will let Papyrus leave alive. But maybe I am wrong...I hope
Considering that the og GG underfell would probably have Undyne as the third boss and Sans as one of the last in the final corridor, I would say that Undyne still has more sanity than Sans
And even if she tryed to attack, I feel like Sans and Papyrus together could win, the only problem would be if she like, got Alphys to call mettaton or Asgore or something, but I honestly feel like they wouldn't care
Poorly executed qnd added late, but if people don't mind him going back on his word, then all is cool I guess. An Ending always does wonders to a cutscene
We have to remember that in the GG underfell series, all the shit that happened was because of a virus, and when we make them turn back to normal(not hostile/red) is when they can actually think
I actually just guenuenly hate this ending, this contradicts sans's ENTIRE personality and his motives makes no sense, hes an addict and a coward, but nope. He just vents you all the issues he has as if its some kind of therapy session. I really wouldive like to see how pacifism sometimes does more harm than good, but its the same as always with the lesson of "no kill = good". A perfect way that this couldive ended is that he no longer cares about papyrus now and he runs away, signifying that hes and has been unsavable by the time you went to the AU, but i guess not. I hope the official GG fell animations dont do what deltatraveler did.
finally, an ending where sans' face ain't yeeted. next thing I know, they will do dusttale in deltatraveller as a ending for the genocide route. edit 1 : okay the ending is worse, sans will probably suicided after this. edit 2 : holy shit sans is gonna become gohan. edit 3 : DUSTTALE - CHAPTER 7 (GENOCIDE EXCLUSIVE, COOL UNBALANCED BATTLE WHERE SANS TRAPS YOU ALL OVER THE PLACE)
I think deltatraveler follows the "Sans is from deltarune" theory, as in normal snowdin we can go to Sans basement and find a photo album with Sans and hometown. - Gg Sans probably faced a weird route, considering that he said how ironic it was that we killed him with ice shock
And again it happens, I really dislike this change in a matter of writing. It feels like an foul attempt to make Sans to be likeable enough to be considered redeemable. And the fact that Sans isn't just a remorseless killer isn't a problem by itself, the problem lies precisely in presenting this "change of heart" too abruptly. It's almost like if Ganondorf in the end of ocarina of time just started talking about how badly he regrets everything he's done. The story just doesn't give us any hints towards ambiguity of his persona (and it's too short to do so). The game also unlays on you a whole veil of text that's just considered to be a bad taste in writing. OG scene wasn't actually good, but at the least, it didn't resolve the whole conflint in matter of one painfully long and out-of-pocket scene.
This is just exacerbating the problems with the writing. Now this ending went from pointlessly edgy, to melodramatic without any build up. It’s one thing to completely re-write the chapter and all of the context surrounding Sans and the final encounter, it’s another to just tack this on at the end. It’s the same problem a lot of games have with DLC stories, a good example would be the Final Horizon for Sonic Frontiers, it doesn’t fix the issues of the main story’s writing, it attempts to recontextualize many of the elements present in the game, while also adding in some new things. But the problem was that the game itself was written with the ending that it was shipped with in mind. So the new ending lacks a lot of context, and while it may be more grandiose and expressive, it lacked the emotional investment and character beats which were set up through the game, and had their pay offs at the very end. This just shows a level of writing inexperience that will likely bleed over into GG!Underfell as a whole, not like it was the best written thing out there to begin with to be fair, but still. I already had issue with the way the chapter was written, all this did was show off the writing flaws in an easily digestible bite. One which could be broken down and understood if chosen. Maybe once all the sections are out and the story has reached its conclusion I might go back and break down the problems with the writing. That could be fun, it’s a lot easier than breaking down some games or movies I’ve been trying to, this is a lot simpler. Don’t get me wrong, sections 1 & 2 had their problems, but it was easy to mask since they were properly established games with their own stories, not to mention both of those sections didn’t have to worry about setting up the setting, it’s characters, and especially the tall task of trying to give a voiceless character a voice. Giving Kris the ability to talk and actual agency on their part is going to fundamentally break a lot of the future sections, I can’t wait to see how the team intends on writing themselves out of this corner. I mean there was a reason beyond just story that Toby gave Kris a character without agency, one where they can’t act without your input, and when they do it’s never to such a degree where it completely takes you out of the experience. Hell we don’t even know if Kris actually knows about us, we just know that they don’t like how their SOUL doesn’t always do what they would like it to. It’s easy to confuse accepted canon, and actual canon sometimes. But a lot of things we as a community have just accepted, aren’t explicitly stated, while that’s nice for personal interpretation and it gives Toby some leeway in the future, it doesn’t really make discussions any easier.
@@enigmaticencounterlol3277Crossbones isn’t Sans though, the comics make it very clear that the long held fan theory of them being the same person is in all reality false. The thing is, both her in the main series and sans here are being forced to stop and think, and then realize what they're doing
My guess is that, monster souls here are still made of kindness and love, and that's why, despite everything, they can change for the better
The correct phrase is doing a 180
I mean, the corruption of the Underground was explicitly caused by the player installing an “Evil Mode”.
@@spidey5558 not in my country, but I see the logic
They made it so instead of one thing setting him off making him a maniac to someone who you can forgive without thinking about should or shouldn't you kill him. Pretty interesting
This feels more like a retcon as a reaction to people hating GG!sans more than anything, but I guess it makes him more interesting. This'll surely change people's opinion about him.
Though I did prefer the maniac murderer who turned to killing people purely because of extreme nihilism. Like how OG Sans turned to jokes and lazinesss because of nihilism.
@@Thorumsu I didn't include it but I think it's also was made so the people who said that 'sans is too *EDGY* ' or ' he wouldn't hurt papyrus ' would stop whining about it. Literally. "Underfell is edgy?? What a surprise" @@Huge_M
well usually it's a build up of things until the one thing comes and makes him a maniac and here we are getting exposition of that build up instead of him say "Oh no I became bad because of specifically THIS EVENT"

"You think ill let them go after what theyve done to me Papyrus?"

Honestly I think it just needs to have a longer transition so it isnt just something that comes out of nowhere
Ok I really like the new ending, Sans's depression and hopelessness being amplified but the horrible world of Underfell, being extended from just apathy to a suicidal idealation in destroying the entire world is really heartbreaking.
this. I love this. there's no objective right answer. an actual dilemma.
I agree. I really agree.
actually there is in this one, before there was none.
Idc what they say, this ending is way better
The only thing i hated abt gg!sans is that he had ZERO reason for what he did. Now he does. Even if it wasnt fully justified.
He doesnt feel like a genocidal "cool" sans oc that has meaningless bloodlust
It isnt perfect but its SO much better
Blood for blood. BLOODSHED FOR BLOODSHED!
YAY!
sukuna and mahito like villains are underrated concept tho thats why old gg!fell was cool
Bloodlust? You mean that extreme demon from the hit game "Geometry dash" made by Robert Topala????
Bro has done a complete 360
he should've been kept as the orphan annihilator 3000 in my opinion with tweaks for the geno routes
I'm disappointed too...
(Also, it's 180-)
True xD, bro went from (like you said) the embodiment of evil to funny emo antihero sans

For everyone saying its out of character for GG!Fell Sans to even do any of this, this actually fits with how Pacifist works in Underfell.

I wouldn't be surprised if this were to happen in the actual animation series when it eventually continues, because this feels like something that would actually happen in it.

I really do not enjoy what this new ending does to Fell retroactively. For me at least, the entire point of the character was his entirely unredeemable personality and actions. He was designed to be a completely and utterly deranged person.
That being said he wasn't well written even if i did enjoy it. One thing i like about this ending is giving him a motivation beyond "I'm evil lol" and "yall did something I'll never be specific about, die."
The idea he just got so sick of everyone he knew, including himself, suffering everyday he snapped and wanted to end everything and everyone Is a really good idea at a base level.
I feel like this is a little bit too fast of a redemption
Agree, I feel like you should talk more, maybe having Susie and Noelle talk as well, but I get why ut was this way, as GG underfell was because of a glitch, and when it was removed and Sans turned back to white, his senses came back aswell
I had a feeling he didn't actually kill an orphan
I wonder if this is an option in obliteration.
And if the dialogue is any different, especially if you spare Jerry
Damn I really like this ending, probably my favourite. In the regular pacifist spare ending I like how Papyrus gives up his dreams of being a royal guard and abandons the battle body, but Sans is still in that pyschotic mindset and would still want to kill everyone, plus he's RIGHT BY THE DOOR, so he could try and kill those in other worlds cause he only sees the negative side of everything. This new one gives a better ending and fits the pacifist route more.
I mean i would expect some kind of this ending at first time when i saw deltaraveler. And it's maybe make em have other personality besides heartless maniac and stuff- (I'm kinda accept this aighty)

This honestly just goes against everything that was in the other route. This isn't how you write a sympathetic villain character
I would make you have to talk more with him, but I get what happened, as in the gg universe monsters were corrupted by a bug and became evil, only turning back to normal after snapping back.
And while I feel like the after Sans is alright with this backstory, I feel like he snapped out of it too fast
I feel like this would be a good bonus for sparing every enemy in section 3 on top of the usual egg reward.

Gg Sans probably faced a weird route, considering that he said how ironic it was that we killed him with ice shock

And as the worst thing: he is not an orphan-killer(
Kartul leem ja liha😊
What did they do to my boy? 😭
Crossbones is superior over any alternate Sans tbh, I’d say that even ULB Sans has better writing than this guy lol.
@@enigmaticencounterlol3277Crossbones isn’t Sans though, the comics make it very clear that the long held fan theory of them being the same person is in all reality false.
