These Cubans don’t allow any sort of government intervention because they cry “socialism”. The housing crisis can be easily solved by tearing down entire blocks of old single family homes and making beautiful medium rise apartments as found in Europe.(look up Aspern Seestadt in Vienna, Austria). This would bring in so much housing supply and keep the greedy landlords in check.
You would want to take away homes from people, the number one financial asset that the lower classes can hopefully pass down to their children so that some generational wealth and even the playing field. Renting an apartment is a money hole, you end up with no equity despite potentially putting in hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I'm a landlord. The landlords are increasing rent because they have increased expenses. The problem is in DC. We have elected greedy, power crazed people. Understand what is really happening and not just emotional reactions.
