- In this episode of The Simpsons Theory, we take a look at the history of Maggie Simpsons voice and pin point every time the baby has spoken - ever since the 1987 Simpsons shorts by Matt Groening!
We also look at the different celebrities that have voiced her, including Elizabeth Taylor, and why. As well as asking ourselves how does she stand out amongst Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa without a voice? Therefore the REAL importance and beauty of Maggie's character.

Yes, I think Maggie can talk 100%, but she's keeping her ability to talk to herself. We've seen her talk before multiple times in the show, so that just adds more proof and facts that she can talk.

Maggie and Homer relationship always makes me cry when they focus on it, it's way to wholesome to not talk about it, it's make me cry when you just mention it.

I would love to see an episode taking place ten years in the future where we get to see ten/eleven year old Maggie driving her teacher crazy. She is really gifted and I’d love to see Lisa being reminded she’s not the smartest Simpson. Their rivalry would be interesting.
I like that idea, but there was an episode like that in the present where Maggie is declared the smartest Simpson, and Lisa spirals, because intelligence is her identity.

I've never appreciated Maggie when I was younger, but I think she's brilliant. Very underrated.
I think the bond between Homer and Maggie is so sweet. The first word episode when she says "Daddy" and the plaque at Homer's job that makes up with pictures of her and says, "Do it for her." Definitely do a video on Homer's and Maggie's bond.
Imo, I would love a Stewie and Maggie crossover episode where Stewie over hears Maggie talk for the first time and spends the whole episode trying to expose her secret to her family and Maggie finally proving how smart and resilient she can truly be. Great Simpsons theory, Lydia! 🙂👍💙
I know there's a good chance they'll forget about this by the next season due to the status quo but I would love it if they showed Maggie talking more like she did in season 34's finale to show that she's growing a little, even if it's only a couple words

I think Maggie can talk, but first no one hears her and later they ignore her, which made her bitter and she doesn’t talk than anymore, to be honest I would love to see an non canon episode, where she would talk the whole thing, but I also like her episodes where she don’t talk it would just be a nice change that’s why

1:40 Oh I'm so glad you referenced that video. Nancy Cartwright herself has her own UA-cam channel which obviously you know since you found the footage, but maybe some people who might read this comment don't know. It's pretty fun to watch she doesn't upload often but she does like to do the voices of her characters especially from the clip shown here which is a lot of fun
The pacifier sound was something my dad taught me and called it a 'chuckle' for some strange reason (sadly I will never know since he's gone now), but hearing Matt do it brings a smile to my face.
Maggie may not say much, but she always has the best little moments.
If you've run out of video ideas I'd love to see an analysis on Apu's Octuplets or Ling Bouvier, how they've aged and the inconsistensies surrounding them.
Yes, because she says daddy. That's all the proof we need. Also she talks in a therapy session, but nobody hears her so she says she'll never talk again. When she's older she tries to speak multiple times, but something always stops her last second. She is sort of confirmed to be both a pop singer that has a constellation shaped after her. This means she's actually a god.

I didn’t know Matt Groening did Maggie’s pacifier sound until I watched this video.
9:28 Matt Groening said that the sequel to The Simpsons Movie would also serve as the series finale, and sadly, that's yet to be decided. I know Stephen Hillenburg did the same thing with Spongebob, but at least he had a reason to keep the show going afterward.

Maggie's established intelligence makes me wish to this very day she had the plot with Stewie in The Simpsons Guy. Yeah there was stuff I liked about his plot with Bart, but it would've been so cool to see them interact, maybe get suspicious of each other and have a Mexican standoff (we know they're both skilled with guns).

Maggie is such a sweetheart and has inspired such wonderful episodes! I'm glad as the series went on, Maggie would'nt turn out likw her many voice actresses, such as Courtney ( As Told by Ginger) or Grandma Addams! But maybe James Earl Jones as it the show had INDEED become a disturbing universe!!!😂❤

One of my favorite moments is Maggie saying 'Daddy' and dancing in her bed.
But you know what I would love to see? An episode with Maggie growing up as the main topic. Just like 'Barthood' and 'Mr. Lisa's Opus'. Her finally sharing her voice could be the plot of it.
Like Stewie she can talk but nobody understands her as again shes a baby. Stewie talks in full pargraphs but Lois and Peter dont understand him but the kids can and so can Brian and other adults.

9:48 I remember when I first watched this episode on Hulu when it was new. I always thought her voice sounded familiar there. Jodie Foster no wonder why it sounded familiar. I had seen a lot of movies with her growing up in the '90s and as a teenager in the 2000s.

Well the fact there are voice actors for every single character that's reasonable
I would love to see her in a future scene singing or talking since everytime in the future she goes to speak but is cut off (Especially because how she is portrayed as a rock superstar)
Maggie is probably my favourite simpsons character because even though she doesn’t talk she shows so much emotion
Maggie can talk, debated over it for a while, and after finally deciding to tell the family , chose to be mute because nobody paid attention.
There are constant future scenes where she gets snubbed or cut off whenever she tries. Do we don’t know if she committed to that vow or not. 🤷♂️
I think Maggie is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

Maggie is so adorable and so cute when she tries to talk for the first time in this show which is why she's my favorite but she can a darker side just like Sideshow Bob which is the most amazing experience threw out of the entire simpson episodes thank you for doing this video about her✌

Fun fact: The Simpson kids has a uncle named Hubert Simpson that passed away in one of the Tracey Ullman shorts.
Yeah my first niece was born in Canada while living with us due to her mom's immigration troubles (met ans married an American while on student visa but had to leave when it expired) so it was quite hard for my sister to hear her say her name instead of "mama" Even though we all tried to encourage her to say mama when referring to my sister. I think she would say both actually but once she moved to the States full time she switched to just saying mama or mommy.
This is part of what makes Maggie the best Simpsons character and my favourite
My favorite Maggie talking moment is the "Daddy" moment after Homer leaves the room... However, I would love to see a video on "And Maggie Makes Three" I actually worked night shift when my daughter was born and I printed off a "do it for her" template I found on the internet and put my little girls pics on it and stuck it on my computer desk
