To everyone saying "500hp is too much for FWD"...stay home you babies! 500hp is a fun and wild ride that simply takes good tires and a solid driver mod. I daily a 450hp GTI (500hp on corn) and it's 💯 manageable.
Finally, someone who knows what they're talking about 💪

If the power is limited in first and second gear it shouldnt be a problem. You might still have wheelspin in 3rd gear on a wet road though...

That has always been the car of my life.
Better get one soon because they are soon a thing of the past for a while. 2020 GTI has major cost cutting, and is trash. VW is pushing for the electric market, so maybe in 10 years or so we will see a sick EV GTI.

Ben Garms AWD is only faster off the line but in a rolling race the FWD (with the same amount of power) will beat the AWD becuse the AWD loses so much power through the drivetrain.

I hope the DSG can handle it... They usually have an upper torque limit. One would hope that it's been swapped.
You don't need to swap the transmission. The tuner can limit the torque and as long as it stays under 450 ft pounds of torque the transmission will be fine.
That was my concern, but got it .
I had 240hp golf 7 and off the line would struggle for grip, cant imagine this. Now i have xdrive m135i :) now i have a fast car

Aerodynamics matter. Clubsport has some more downforce. And also the gear ratios limit the top speed.

So is this thing manual or automatic? I didn't see him use the little manual things on the steering wheel one time.
It is an automatic. But like most automatic gearboxes, you can operate the paddles behind the steering wheel to manually select when the gearbox should change gear.
To add to what Nathan said above, it's a dual-clutch transmission as well (not like a typical automatic which is a torque-converter automatic).

This is a GTI clubsport (special edition of the gti made in limited numbers) comes with lots of extra features including these bucket seats. These seats are an add on you can pay for when your buying the club sport model not all CS gti’s have these seats.

I don't think it has good tires or suspension i think they just built the engine and nothing else wich renders you're hp useless
If only Volkswagen had made an all wheel drive version of the Golf to give this treatment to... Don't get me wrong, I WANT this car. But the R would have benefited more.
Golf R's are mostly better from 0-100, but the gti weigh less and thats why they are faster doing 100-200
@@kyalami_green_rs3 Yeah, and when you give a Golf 500 HP and lots more torque, and if you don't increase traction, you get wheelspin in 3rd (and even 4th?) gear. Also, your 100-200 time is a lot less relevant than acceleration at any speed up to 120. You can never just step on the gas because you'll need to buy new tires every time. It's just not practical or even fun. There's a reason why everyone is switching to all wheel drive once they cross the 400-500 HP threshold. And if it was rear wheel drive, like the former 1-series, you could at least use it to drift and donut.
@@kyalami_green_rs3really doesn't matter if a car is maybe 0.5s faster from 100-200 when you drive on the street. On the racetrack thats important, but you can't drive this 500hp golf fast there either. What matters is the overall fun and driveability, that's where the rwd BMW's or the AWD Golfs are way better. I would prefer a stock r over this at any time.

But 0-100 this really is useless :s. There are a ton of less powerful cars that will pull away from this one from the line, not to mention when the road is wet...
With 500hp 5.9sec quite slow I will rather choose passat cc v6 and make it 5.4sec with 300+HP

Had a 6 speed dsg. It is a great transmission. I could only imagine this 7 speed with 500 hp lol but for the money it took to get that why not just get a golf r with 4wd
The money? You need a turbo upgrade fbo and full e85 it would cost maybe 5k to do all that

I don’t understand why people take these front wheel drive cars to such high bhp. On paper, it sounds like it’ll turn into a death trap when you’re really pushing it 😭
A death trap would be a very oversteery car, like, say, a Hellcat.

AUTOTOPNL = lie this car on the video isnt making 500hp they put 500hp to get view they didnt change the fuel pump or rebuilt the motor they are lie , also he drive the car with electronic stability control off but when you drive a powerful car front wheel drive you just have to put the traction control off you guys doesnt get any 500hp with your config on and also do not have change piece to get it we dont hear any sound of turbo pressure this car is like 300hp

here we go again .. 500hp ? oh man, again some ,,serious" tuner is telling some serious stories, this car got stage 2 with about 400hp max. to compare, i drove some 500 - 520~ hp Golf 7´s with LM500/ TTE525r Turbos, and this cars running 100-200 mid or high 6.xx times ... thats again, a fact !
