Wow!! Thus thing spanks the floor of the Model X and Model Y. Finally a legit car maker getting into the EV game.
unless i missed it, is there anyway maybe you can do a video on how regen mode works, benefits and why or how you can adjust it and the benefits. please!
Quality looks really good. Especially for a “lower end” Mercedes’ model
Beautiful car, but with everything going on underneath the hood, it makes me wish they could form a partnership with Tesla, because Tesla seems to be far ahead of the curve with their EV technology and body casting but need a company like Mercedes for interior/exterior design concepts. A recent Munro UA-cam video impressed me of the advantages and intelligence of the new Tesla model Y front and rear single piece body cast system.
I'm in the US and I was shocked that the 2022 EQB has no power seats. Still strugling whether I should go with this or not..
I just got it and it doesn’t really matter as far as you are ok with it and love Mercedes’ drive feelings
Most people switching from ICE cars like myself have *never* had a frunk in their lives. Kinda hard to miss & complain about the lack of something I’ve never needed or used. A frunk is not a good selling point for this reason alone and when you look at vehicles like the Kia EV6’s “frunk” which is the size of a silverware drawer, I think manufacturers are better off investing that money elsewhere altogether.
Although I like the frunk (even a small one) as a place to stash the charging cable, I'm willing to sacrifice that in exchange for making the car's components more exposed and serviceable (which is the excuse I've heard most for why some EVs don't have frunks).
I only keep all the stuff in my Frunk that I never touch. Opening and closing the FRUNK in my Tesla is stressful. It is manual, and you have to be careful how you push it shut as not to dent the hood. Nice engineering... But it is handy to have the space.
Stop making excuses for lazy legacy automakers
@@ManuNarang Elon, shut up.
I have one on order. Why? No Elon. 3rd row perfect for my 3 kids. Range and 11 kW level 2 charging is sufficient for what I need. And local support/real dealer network is what I want (as opposed to gambling on Rivian).
I currently drive an E350 but I would buy the EQB over the Tesla Model Y simply based on the controls and user interface. My final purchase decision would likely be driven by the availability of super charging station access. I do like the Tesla but I think they’re best suited a younger buying crowd…and that’s not a criticism, that’s me just being a senior citizen.
Its kinda funny that people keep refering to this car as a “small” crossover.
It’s an amazing!! The best Ev in the market.
Under the hood it looks almost like a regular petrol motor! Why so much hoses? I think electric vehicles were much simpler than a petrol motor?
I would buy anything over a Tesla...
Why?
I also have a deposit on an APTERA. I'm glad to know I am not alone.
@@Andrew-bt7tn trash service, horrible build quality. Buying a car that isn't built with any care or effort. They sell the car first and fixes it later. Lies about range, false claims on range and capabilities. Just trash, don't buy a Tesla. I've owned one and I sold it.
It’s end of August and still no word from Mercedes on when the EQB will arrive in the states. Also, extremely disappointed that Mercedes would not switch my refundable deposit to non-refundable in order to be grand fathered into the original $7500 tax credit.
Driving down the road every other cookie cutter car is a Tesla. No thanks. I wanted something unique so we bought this one last week. I love the damn thing. Yeah not the best range but where am I going to drive 400 kms without a 1/2 hr break to charge anyway. It’s super comfortable sunroof is amazing and solid, fast and Mercedes.
With a 7-seater configuration and a roof rack (something that a Model X can't do), this car is insanely spacious for its price. The only downside that the car is based on GLB and it will probably lose a lot in value as soon as the pure Merc electrics are out..
Price ???
The specs make no sense compared to the Fisker Ocean. The Ocean is better in every way. Also made by the Mercedes G Wagon maker.
Nice looking, good interior, range is too low for what you pay. I'd rather pay the same price and get an Ioniq 5 with the 300 mile range and real world of about 270 to 280 miles.
True but mercedes is a luxury brand and hyundai is not so IMO you can't compare Mercedes with hyundai.
@@dollarzUS luxury is not clear cut anymore now that they don’t have ICE engines. The name won’t be enough to justify the price if the performance and price of the ionic is better
@@dollarzUS if youre comparing EVs you can definitely compare them
@@LBrisk01 Bro? This merc is bigger than an Ioniq 5 and is meant for luxury, which Ioniq 5 is not so you can’t compare both.
@@Aanoo. I thought the same thing, but despite the EQB being available as a 7-seater, their exterior dimensions are actually very similar (184″ L x 72″ W x 66″ H) vs (183″ L x 74″ W x 63″ H).
Need a chrome delete package.
True
What's up with your tone Tommy. We're not used to you being that quiet and calm. what happened??!!
Lets be real. Nothing about this car is exciting.
That's Tommy's "Luxury whisper".
@@jamiered7102 agreed
Well, his tone matches the target audience for this vehicle. I think he nailed it showing that he can do more than just hype motivated reviews.
Maybe with less moving parts Mercedes will be a little more reliable and less time in the shop
YES! That is one of the best parts of a BEV!
Jus recently found out Mercedes builds trucks as well...Never seen one yet...guy at work said something about it a week ago..Great presentation Tommy!!😃
if you mean the pick up, rather than the HGVs, they dont anymore, at leasst not to the UK market, and when they did it was a Mercedes tweaked (badge and interior revamp) Nissan Navara.
@@petelattimer6808 Here it is.. Mercedes X-class Maybach Edition. On RaGoCARS channel...Thanks Pete!!😃
Smth is wayyyyyy off with the purportions of this thing😳…….not feeling it at all! 🤷🏽♂️
No Frunk? I'm out.
Lol the “frunk” is the most overrated part of an EV. In fact the vast majority of EVs don’t have them because on most cars they are pretty much useless
The New 2022 Mercedes EQB Is a Surprisingly Awesome EV...until it breaks down.
Great video mate
That interior looks cheap! I don't like the look!
1st.....have a beautiful day Everyone
😂 this thing is hideous
Boring exterior per usual for a Mercedes.
No frunk, no deal. Get with the times.
Most frunks are virtually useless
@@doomsday9973 Yeah, and if you get into an accident, the stuff in frunk will turn to junk.
Next time park the car under shadow.. Sunlight refraction ruin the video
Another uninspired design from Mercedes. Do they think their buyers are blind?
charge time 20-80% is approx 30 mins. so about 25 mins too long then.
Mediocre range and only 100kw max charging really hurts this car. If it was 5 years ago then this would be acceptable for the price. Not now.
If there’s no frunk, it feels lazy like they took a gas car and converted to electric
Well that’s exactly what this is it’s just an electric GLB
Exactly, like a "compliance EV", it will get better with true EV developed platforms coming.
it has 230 miles range, takes 2 hours to charge, so yea not really a compelling ev
Do you honestly own an EV with a frunk?? I do and I’ve never used it. For anything. Not going to the grocery store. Not taking kids school clothes shopping. Not stopping and picking up take out. Never in a year. The one thing I will agree with is the luxury brands need to pull their heads out of their asses and start offering ranges in excess of 300 miles or don’t even bother. BMW with the iX is the only luxury brand with normal human ranges at 324 with the 20 inch tires.
I don’t know why people talk about frunk so much as a big deal. I have few friends with a Tesla and I NEVER saw them using it. I even asked them if they do and they say they don’t.
What year is it, 1995?
Expensive for an electric evolving new technology which might be defunct in few years, don’t buy electric yet until manufacturers are settled on the best new technology
MB brought you all the way to Germany just to kick tires, where’s the drive, Tommy??
Did you actually say “unconfirmed if a charge cable will be offered in the states “
What the hell does that mean ?
Range and performance for the price cannot compete with a Tesla product
But Tesla is crap
Tesla is a cheaply made driving computer though....
Tesla is much more expensive, considering additional tax credit for MB.
Stodgy exterior; typical Mercedes good material interior. Performance is slower than competition. Will sell to a typical aging demographic. I’m in the hunt for a BEV right now, but this is not on the list.
Great Car with one exception which is charging on Electryfy America, they have problem initiating charge, you have to call customer service every time to get the remote charge started.
Wow you look just like your dad lol
I test drove one which was nice to drive, but the $10000 ‘screw over’ added on price was the deal breaker
Depending on price one spec with third row possibly
It’s seems a little too small. I’d rather wait for an electric version of the Explorer, hopefully with a 5000 + pound towing capacity and a battery similar in size to the F150 lightning.
Might want to check out the Vinfast VF9
WHEN
Sweet vehicle
bless the lord that it's not a coupe... dumbest SUV/crossover trend bar none.
Bit off-topic, but I love the DC outlet covers on this car and on the Ford Lightning. Most other EVs use little dangling boots that always strike me as cheap/lazy/unrefined.
For how ugly the rest of the car is, I think BMW’s charge port is the best one around. There’s two flaps that pop open, AC and DC. If you open the DC flap, the AC portion also opens since CCS includes the J1772 top part as well.
@@LBrisk01 It looks like the EQB one does the same thing. Hadn't seen the BMW one before; definitely looks good.
Imagine looking at a Ford Lightning’s cheap interior and lazy exterior design and giving them props for the charge port door covers that strike you as “refined”.
@@mybro727 Bro, just pointing out a detail I think the rest of the industry should emulate. So, every time you complement an aspect of something, you also list out all the defects it has too? That must go over real well with your significant-other.
Big fan of the GLB, and that extends to the EQB. One of the best views out (the low windows are so underrated) and I love MB tech.
Knobs buttons and real door handles the way cars should be. I'd like to see an urban "on roader" version with huge tyres and sidewalls capable of eating any pothole and scratch and dent resistant panels but that's me.
Low range, low power, no frunk - looks like they really aren't trying.
I will gladly pay more for this than any Tesla. Quality!
another yuppie vehicle 👎
This is most likely to be purchase by multiple car households that are willing to have one car not be excellent for long distance road trips. Probably the other vehicle is an ICEv or PHEV for road trips. If you already own Tesla you probably won't consider this.
You just described my situation and exactly why I currently have one reserved.
This makes the BZ4X look like a Tesla in comparison to this.
Agreed 💯
Yes - teslas are a dime a dozen & MB has great build quality!
suggestion, maybe use a microphone cause you're out of breath all video
Should have kept the front end fixed. How many people use the front trunk on an electric crossover anyway?🤷🏽
you cant use it anyway on this car
