Being fined because ATC ask you to go under 32k is insane

It's the cost of doing business. It's a risk they're willing to take and fine to pay, as long as it's cheaper than some incident happening while they were flying too low over troubled territory.

Rules are rules. These airlines should know what the implications of a codeshare with American airlines are.

Being fined for safety purposes, i.e. ATC's request, is diabolical!

It's what the local ATC doesn't control (on the publicly-accessible ground) that the FAA is worried about.

This is insane. Emirates, Etihad & Ethiopian should simply pull out of the US Market in protest. The US does not have jurisdiction on other countries sovereign airspace

It's way too lucrative market for them to leave. I think they should simply remove codeshares with US airlines, as it seems to be source of the most problems, and just have them sell the same flights under EK flight numbers.

@@mrmarecki1 is it tho? whenever I look at Flight Radar it seems like the majority of their business is in Europe and Asia. The US seems like a side interest to the airlines

@@ammo7123well think of this they take a380’s to major use cities and then the American partners take them to their actual destination in America so

That's a great idea... For US airlines.

Makes sense to me but easy to understand that many won't buy into the reasoning.

So most of these aren't safety related it's airlines flying over parts of the world the US doesn't get along with. I suspect the number of such 'violations' is going to rapidly increase the way things are going.

If Trump increases his authoritative tariffs, it's time for Canada and Mexico to impose expensive over-flight fees on US airlines

Do you want Canada to cut off power to millions of US-Americans?

With the trade-wars and other demands on other countries by the USA coming, I think the tolerance for this will decrease.

All fun and games until these carriers can codeshare agreements with US carriers or pull out of the US market

Overreach. If the US passenger does not want to fly over Iranian (put any other country here) airspace, at the time of booking they should be made aware that this is a code-share flying over X/Y/Z airspace, go find another airline.

If Iraq is better and safer after US occupation, why is it dangerous to fly under 32K?

Sicne the metal aircraft broadcasts ADSB for the main flight of the operating airlines, I am curious if FAA would have any jurisdiction for a foreign flight outside its jurisdiction which does not broadcast a US airline flight number.
