- Hey K-Villagers! I've decided that once per year, I will make a Most Viewed #KPOP Songs Chart for each year (2009 onwards). This is for those who are nostalgic for the classic K-Pop eras, and those who love statistics too. ♡ -- I fully expect that I may have missed some songs that should be here, so please kindly let me know in a comment below and I will update the chart with them on it next year.

It was more like Super Junior vs Girls Generation. These two were the most popular kpop groups at that time with the biggest fandoms. Just like BTS vs Blackpink nowadays haha. Bigbang started to become popular only after fantastic baby in 2012 during 3rd generation era.

2008-2014 were the best years of K-pop for me!!
This year in Kpop was so iconic for me, as it was my first full year into Kpop and I followed every group I could, watched every MV, debut, comeback stage- anything I could access on dear ol' UA-cam ^w^ I also was asked by my high school yearbook team to do a small qna for the yearbook and included was my favorite song, which at the time was SHINee's Lucifer. Absolutely no one knew what that meant but they put it in anyways!
I was already the weird alt kid at school, being into Kpop before it was mainstream just added to the "freak" points back then, but I never really cared about what others thought of me lol
At least if you say Kpop nowadays, almost anyone knows what you're talking about, even if all they say is "oh, like BTS?".

The song that got me into k-pop was Super Junior's "No Other". It was 2010, and my music tastes were forever changed haha. This is the best nostalgia video for me

*it was definitely Super Junior's year.* I remember how everyone went crazy over their songs *"No Other"* and *"Bonamana"* .. they were the songs that got me and many people into kpop. Super Junior's Bonanama was also the best selling album of the year and all the B-sides of the album were really good. I remember around that time Super Junior was also the first kpop group ever to do a successful WORLD tour in BIG venues.. and how Chinese ELF gave Super Junior a real golden disk 📀 when GDA was unfair to them because everyone expected that Super Junior were going to win the daesang of album of the year. So Chinese ELF gave SJ an expensive disk (real gold) which is obviously more valuable than the metal disk of GDA. 😂 And Super Junior were so touched by the fans' love and decided to donate the golden disk in order to help needy people. This was such an iconic era especially for Super Junior !! Legends. 👏👑

is it weird that i like early 10s kpop much better than modern kpop music-wise? having no antidrop choruses is so refreshing
And you know what? I know these bands for a couple of years before BlackPink and BTS were created, as well as less popular bands of the present time. Some were just on my ear, others I am still fond of. And it was a wonderful time in which everyone just enjoyed this genre, and did not hate/love it just because of its current popularity.

Great stuff, T-ARA and Girls' Generation were my top groups at this time but great to see BoA and Sistar who I also love. Some of these lists make me wonder why I wasn't into KARA and 2NE1 more at the time, but I've definitely come to appreciate them more over the years. Keep these lists coming, they are golden!
