Model: Colony II
This is a 28" Monte Carlo Colony II ceiling fan in the Matte Black finish, shown with a set of Matte Black blades. This compact fan features your standard 3-speed pull chain operation, a 153 x 12mm motor, and the option to add a light kit. The model number is 4CO28BK and this fan is dated to have been manufactured in May of 2013.
Introduced in 2007, the Colony II was essentially the small space counterpart to the Colony model which featured (5) blades in 52" span. In addition to this model collection, the Colony Grand was also available, which was essentially the same fan but in a 66" blade span. Offered in a variety of finishes, the Colony II was one of a few petite fans Monte Carlo offered around that time, with this model having a more traditional design. After a decent production run, this fan was eventually discontinued in 2021, shortly after the Monte Carlo buyout by the Visual Comfort brand.
Overall the fan is fairly average in terms of build quality. Nearly all the components are your standard stamped metal and the blades are MDF. I supposed it would have been a nice touch to have reversible blade finishes and a slightly slower low speed, which are really my only two criticisms. The performance however is great, really kicking out a breeze, especially directly below. The motor is silent and aside from some slight wobble, there's really no complaints for a fan this size that moves over 3000 cfm. All in all, just a decent fan that's perfect for small spaces.

Cute! And cool!
Been kinda curious about these…but I do like the way they look
Honestly this is one of those mini fans that they got the proportions right with.
How do you tell when a Monte Carlo ceiling fan was dated?
The date on this fan is included on that gold sticker on top of the motor.
How do you know it was introduced in 2007
2007 is the first year it appears in catalogs and on their website
