There's an old rail bed to the far west of the property. Follow it north, and there is an old quarry just off of the property. There are some cool ruins there.
My family and I belonged to a swim club right below the old mansion back in the sixties. We used to go through the mansion and saw how great it once was. There was actually a hidden room that was used during prohibition. A lot was still accessible and many old fixtures were still in the mansion. Such a shame it was destroyed. Also went into the old mill.
We went here today and saw some of the ruins close to the lake. This was a great hike for myself and two 6 year olds with new cameras. Thank you for such an inspiring video. The kids want me to tell you that “We found the mansion!!”
You seem to be in the area of the 1818 house. It was a very large mansion with driveway that lead down to the water. Was standing back in late 1970's. That is at 5 minutes into the video.
I found the channel from this video way back in 2017. I've seen a lot of stuff in PA since then that I probably would not have gone to check out if it hadn't been for discovering Cliff.
A warm weather visit to these places would be interesting - could see things on the ground. Having said that, your winter visit was very interesting - enjoyed!
Spent part of my childhood in this area (near Lyndell). Haven't been back since we left in 1967. That was before the lake was formed.

I like that you showed where things were on the map.

So sad as always the ruins werent maintained. My favorite too was the four fireplaces. The snow was pretty.
Ruins: "the physical destruction or disintegration of something or the state of disintegrating or being destroyed". So, yeah...
😂😂😂
The stone "footers" are still present around the old German style stone barns there....pretty cool!
Thanks so much for the shout out :-)
Informative and very interesting!
what trail do you take to get there?
That’s a lot of rocks where would they find all that rock
Those walls look like a thunderous fart would collapse them like the trumpets around Jericho.
Your "bike racks" are called Stanchions. You have a barn there.
Is this place still around?
Shame they should have left a few home places
Same Roman Greco architecture
Cool that ya dress well [B.C> Cnd}
Research Mudfloods, the basement window gives it away. That's a pre flood building.
Use your brain there was a cataclysmic event the mud covered everything not fireplaces.
