So roughly a year ago, bad weather caused waves to surge inland just like they're doing now... I'm going to go out on a limb and say next year the same thing will happen as well.

Californians build too close to the surf. These incidents are inevitable.

we’re not far from when the Ocean waves 🌊 will be permanently this way from rising waters, and everything on the coastline will be gone and can’t be rebuilt

Waters aren’t rising. This is weather modification complimenting the normal el niño pattern off of the pacific equatorial region. It’s to chase people off the coastlines and into 15 minute cities stack and packs. Take a look at the UN 2030 USA “no go zone” map.

One night I went down to Capitola. The moon was shining on the sand. It had that Treasure Island look and feel to it. RL Stevenson was supposedly inspired by Monterrey just to the south.

Hi Ty waves are everywhere in California. I hope people are safe through the big waves and I hope they are because in California they’ll be they’ll be having big Waze everywhere in the beaches and all around everywhere and his milk cost in Pismo too. I hope people are safe this year from being away from the ocean and being away from everything else. God bless you all and hope you guys are all safe. Thank you, Corey.

Maybe rebuild with cement and tile instead of wood and vinyl flooring so it doesn’t get ruined every year 🤔

Seems like there’s less beach and more water there every time I visit.

Would you complain if waves washed away the sandcastle you built on the beach?

Loose sand won’t hold up it will wash away , but extra large sand bags would be stronger build it doubled or tripled layered

The warnings have all been there. Trouble is, what can anyone really *DO*?! If you ain't rich enough, you can't exactly uproot your entire existence and leave. But the sheer irony is... if ya didn't, then obviously, ya got yer arse handed to ya in 2022 and here in late 2023. :/ That is unfortunate.

20 years ago there wasn’t anything that close to the beach … you had to all down …. all these developers who got greedy and built so much in california are all going to pay the price

and the government officials that issued the building permits to generate tax income
and you wonder why Insurance company will not insured these properties.
never give up place next to ocean

I lived there 30 years ago, it has always been that close to the water. The Capitola esplanade was built on the beach in 1925, almost 100 years ago, so yeah it's always been that close. 20 years ago it was 2003.

Build a 3-meter high wall like what Japan did to counter tsunamis. Problem solved. Cheaper than having to deal with this mess annually.

all these beaches weren’t this packed . i went to all these beaches so much but i haven’t been home in a few years . i haven’t been to capitols or pacifica in 15 years . i can’t believe how much was built right up to the ocean. until i read your comment i thought my memories were tricking me . we had friends who lived right by the beach and village but you had to walk down stairs to get to the beach . i don’t feel any sympathy for the damage nor will i when the earthquakes come for san francisco and all the skyscrapers they built . there has to be limits on what developers can do.

@@mantronixtube one thing is to be angry, another thing is to wish disaster on people you don’t even know. Pacifica is just as beautiful as before. It’s just part of life. I live in SoCal now.
