Eighth track off the album "A Change of Heart" (Canadian pressing, Sudarshan Disc SD-1)
Michael Cassidy, a singer associated with the Hare Krishna movement, released an album in 1976 under the band name "Golden Avatar". It was distributed all around the world, and, believe it or not, it actually recieved a gold record plaque in Canada for amount of units sold!
An incredible folk-rock album with touches of prog and funk. I like the fact that the title track reflects the cover art and the funky Moog solo on "Time for Going Home". -

I bought this album last weekend, I was looking for folk, saw the cover, not knowing the group, no wiki info, went to UA-cam, heard the tunes and I knew I found GOLDEN DIAMONDS

Found this album today in a local thrift shop. Had embarrassingly never heard of it and took a chance on the cover alone. Not a disappointment. This is great stuff.
Sounds like my story too! Welcome to the club. I found this gem waaay back in 2009 when I was a frequent thriftgoer. I was already familiar with another ISKCON album, Ananta's _Night and Daydream_ (a.k.a. _Wheel of Time_), and the artwork on this one intrigued me. Not only that, but my eyes popped at seeing the liner notes name-checking Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond and George Harrison. Those alone sold me on the album. Funny, the celebrity name-checking was the same strategy ISKCON apparently used to sell these records in the seventies. They seemed to be marketed exclusively by street vendors. Those celebrity musicians were donors to the organization, so it just made sense to leverage their power and familiarity (even though they had nothing to do directly with this, the Ananta album, or Rasa's _Everything You See Is Me_).
Rather strange, how all these esoterically-sold albums come about. But the music is great, and these stories are more than a little interesting. Thank you for commenting!

Love this song, its amazing, I love the guitar I was lucky enough to pick this album up in second hand shop, years ago. Govinda is the holy protector of the cows :).
Die Platte hab ich wegen meiner Schwester ewig hören müssen - Ende der 80er. Sie machte sie an wenn ich schlief. Puuh war ich entnervt- aber irgendwann konnte ich nicht mehr, da war ich infiziert.
Ich kann sie immer noch sehr gut hören. Das bringt mir die schöne Zeit zurück.
