why does everyone say yuri is a yandere when she didn't hurt anyone but herself but monika literally deleted all her friends like what monika is way more yandere
Thank you! Yuri is NOT actually a Yandere! She simply had an obsessive nature, which was amplified in Act 2 by Monika. A Yandere would go to extreme lengths to RID OF COMPETITION, even go as far as killing (which most do). Yuri never killed any rivals, or mentioned/eluded to doing so. What happened is that she got so obsessed that she either kills HERSELF from over-excitement, if you say yes, or rejection, is you say no. As for Monika, there is one thing that keeps her from taking the Yandere cake: after being deleted, she finally accepts fate, and lets the player go. A Yandere would never pass on their love to another. Sorry, just had to let that out.
diminutive b in act 3 if you read Monika's dialogue she says that Yuri was the one who was the Yandere as she was willing to kill herself and others for the main character's love and Monika also mentions how she could never kill an actual person (as well as never really deleting the characters in the first place.) At one point in fact Yuri says that Monika should kill herself and has a highly aggressive nature in the second act. I would argue that both characters are Yanderes however for different reasons: Yuri is completely in love with the player and would harm herself and others to make him love her. Monika instead of going for the love reason can be related to the other interpretation of Yanderes. (Instead of love, they have no emotions all together and realise that when around someone, they experience the emotions which they didn't have ever before.) This can be related as the player is her only ticket to the outside world, as the person is the yandere's only access to any emotions, meaning they would do anything to keep the person with them.

Thank you! Yuri is NOT actually a Yandere! She simply had an obsessive nature, which was amplified in Act 2 by Monika. A Yandere would go to extreme lengths to RID OF COMPETITION, even go as far as killing (which most do). Yuri never killed any rivals, or mentioned/eluded to doing so. What happened is that she got so obsessed that she either kills HERSELF from over-excitement, if you say yes, or rejection, is you say no.
As for Monika, there is one thing that keeps her from taking the Yandere cake: after being deleted, she finally accepts fate, and lets the player go. A Yandere would never pass on their love to another.

diminutive b in act 3 if you read Monika's dialogue she says that Yuri was the one who was the Yandere as she was willing to kill herself and others for the main character's love and Monika also mentions how she could never kill an actual person (as well as never really deleting the characters in the first place.) At one point in fact Yuri says that Monika should kill herself and has a highly aggressive nature in the second act.
I would argue that both characters are Yanderes however for different reasons: Yuri is completely in love with the player and would harm herself and others to make him love her. Monika instead of going for the love reason can be related to the other interpretation of Yanderes. (Instead of love, they have no emotions all together and realise that when around someone, they experience the emotions which they didn't have ever before.) This can be related as the player is her only ticket to the outside world, as the person is the yandere's only access to any emotions, meaning they would do anything to keep the person with them.
