Had these in XL and exchanged them for the Gauge 8s. Why? They are large frames with wide open side regions which suffer from massive internal reflections in bright light of your own face. But that’s only half of it. The frames are very wide and you are very aware especially of the bottom frame jutting out right across your frame of view. Like looking through a letter box. The Gauge 8s are similar XL fitting with a similar size lens but curve ergonomically around your face giving minimal internal reflection plus the frames are made of thin wire which give an unhindered almost frameless feel. The Holbrookes look very film star but just don’t work practically which eclipses all other considerations in my book.
I also have a pair of the silver xl’s in brown which I don’t wear as often. I prefer the more classic look of the Holbrook, but they are very similar (main visible difference being the straight arm behind the ear on the silver). I think it’s really just a style preference, one isn’t better than the other.
@@TEN-qh8usI wear a size 8, and the Holbrook xl is a little tight but not a lot, the mainlink xl is a bit better (im here because I tried them on at pearle vision earlier) but I have a pair of Costa del mar Rincon that fit way better
These are my favourite! I really want to pick up a pair with positive red iridium lenses, and matte black frames. Edit: Mate! I'm just curious, what's the difference with the Asia fit?
Great review!
My head is kind of big, so been looking for a XL glasses.
Seems Holbrook XL can be the most appropriate ones.
I wear new era baseball cap size 7 1/2. What do you think fits me the Holbrook or Holbrook XL? Thanks
what color is the lens on that HOLBROOK XL you have there ???

Do you think it pays to buy a Sliver xl or holbrook xl? it looks like the Sliver xl is going out of line, but the warm Gray lenses are my favorite.

I'm not sure if I have the XL how could I tell ?
Can you change lens with these?
What color is the Holbrook XL?
The regular holbrook is slipping off my nose and tight on my head, the xl version fits perfectly and even slips on my nose, similar to the silver xl.
That happens to me too. Silver XL and Holbrook XL fit my huge head nicely tho!
Is that the Road Prizm color on the XL?
Thank you for doing this review. I have a size 8 hat as well. Xl would be a best fit for me
I wear a size 8 hat too and the XL are still a bit tight. They tend to slide down your nose all day, so get the Mainlink XL instead.

If you wear a size 8 with that bald head you need to call the Guiness Book of World Records
Hey! It’s the pizza guy!!!
👍🇧🇷
Lots of distracting reflections.
