- Casting some abu 6500. Abu 6500 frame with gotdistance reel centermag, 6500 frame with Benfield conversion sideplate and abu 6500c levelwind with upgraded worm gear.

Not difficult to empty a reel that size when you are using 40lb line that is around 0.65
diameter. You only had about 80 yards if the spool was full....
Impress me by doing it with 15lb 0.35 line (around 270 yards)...
PS you forgot to mention the Akios handle with starless drag.....

Why have you not removed the levelwind?.
peter Chessell: your a keen observer. Your the only one that make a comment on the levelwind. My point is that even with levelwind you can powercast this reel. Lots of “experts” make a quick comments on retaining the levelwind. Bearings and levelwind screw upgrades make a big dfrence specially with thus old reel design
@@akocbombie no you cannot power cast the reel with the level on the grip is dreadful and unsafe plus the fact you're losing about 45/50 percent on you're over all distance so get it off for power casting.
