- The college basketball game between Purdue and Wisconsin had an absolutely thrilling ending as the two teams exchanged clutch shots down the stretch. First, Wisconsin's Johnny Davis hit a ridiculous step back jumper with under 30 seconds left to give Wisconsin a 67-64 lead. Then, Purdue's Jayden Ivey responded with a deep three pointer to tie the game at 67-67 with just nine seconds left. However, Wisconsin's Chucky Hepburn ran down the court hit a step back three pointer with just over a second left to give Wisconsin a 70-67 lead. Purdue was unable to score after this and Wisconsin held on for a thrilling 70-67 win. With the victory, Wisconsin has clinched a share of the Big Ten regular season championship.

@@pschighlights The game was tied on Ivey's deep prayer. The only valid excuse for Purdue losing -- besides being outplayed -- is all the missed Boiler free throws.
I’m a Badger fan and those last two shots that were inadvertent banks shots were so lucky. But you have to give the Badger players credit (Johnny Davis, Chucky, and Wahl) as they have worked so hard and improved a ton throughout the year when no one expected anything from Wi. Purdue is damn good and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them in the final four.

There was nothing lucky about that win though. They outplayed Purdue the entire game. Purdue would have been lucky if they'd won. They were lucky Davison missed a free throw and they could tie it up with a deep, needed 3.

Davis' shot wasn't a 3 pointer, and perhaps if Hepburn was defended better he wouldn't have even gotten that shot off. It's cute you're pretending to know anything about basketball, though.

The point being that the message I replied to was stating “now that’s how you win at least a share etc…” and that I don’t think most people would want to win on a couple of lucky shots - but rather due to some kind of solid play or plays.

Its been two years. As an Illini fan, I'll forever remember this game. We had 5 losses, Wiscy had 4, and PU had 5 going into this one. I was rooting for PU so hard. The BIG title is a big deal for me and when PU lost, it was the most depressing part of the season and it had nothing to do with my team. The BIG title hopes seemed all but over. Little did I or anyone know that Nebraska (who was horrific that year) would go in there and knock 'em off like that on the final day of the season.

Yeah. Koenig's was definitely better. And he did it in about the same amount of time as Purdue had in their last possession, but they blew their last chance to tie it up.

Sadly it was all downhill after this as Wisconsin had to share the conference title with Illinois after failing to beat Nebraska in the regular season finale and then couldn't even reach the 2nd weekend of the 2022 tournament despite getting to play the 1st weekend in their home state.

I practiced making a bracket yesterday and this makes me feel good about not picking purdue to be in the championship.
I wouldn’t, they were the better team and got massively unlucky late. Bad breaks happen in every tournament, but Purdue just got some of theirs out of the way before it even started. I wouldn’t sleep on ‘em.

I am old enough to remember when they called carrying in the nba. the way most of these players nowadays dribble the basketball they would have been called for carrying the basketball everytime they dribbled the ball back in the 1970s. watch the guy dribbling starting at 1:24 he pretty much double dribbled at one point

@@Icatt.926 because I didn’t parlay all the picks together, I’m not like high roller but I usually get $15-20 on a game, so I bet $15 on each one of my picks last night, and typically people will make sure to “tie the knot” by also throwing a few bucks at the parlay. A parlay is where you need every pick to win for you to win the bet. It’s typically a low risk, high reward type thing. For example, on Saturday I bet on 8 games, and I went 4-4 for those games. But when I placed my bets on Saturday, I also chose to parlay all my picks together so if I would’ve went 8-0, my $5 parlay bet would’ve won like $800 or some shit.
Last night, when I placed my 10 bets, I chose to pass on parlaying all the picks together. So yes, I won my single game bets. But since I failed to also bet the parlay, I missed out on winning like $1500 bucks. Instead, I won like $130.
And to be even more clear, I usually only bet 2 days a week with college bball, one weekday and saturdays. I usually select like 8-12 games to study, just the games that intrigue me the most. For 10 years, I’ve been doing this essentially. 98% if the time, I “tie the knot” and bet the parlay on my picks JUST IN CASE I do have a crazy day and go 10-0, 9-0, whatever. Not even Sharps/pros have undefeated days, but I’ve always figured I’d rather be safe than sorry, throw a few backs at the parlay just to be safe. For whatever reason, last night I decided to say fuck the parlay, Im not gonna go 10-0 so why bother throwing $5-$10 bucks on a 10 team parlay. And of courSe the ONE time I decide to not tie the knot on my picks, I have an undefeated day. Im a very average sports bettor, my winning percentage is probably around 53-54%….most days I’ll go like 4-3 or 5-4….but anyone who bets on sports can tell you the story of their “greatest day” in vivid detail. I just had my greatest day I’ll ever have betting on sports and instead of winning $1600, I netted about $130. That’s why I hate my life lol

If there is 1 thing you can count on at purdue it's that they will lose any game that is a must win.. the football basketball baseball programs are all the same. If you tell a purdue boilermaker they must beat a team to get 1st place or put them in the March tourney against any mediocre school they will lose like literally 98% of the time

@@falconhoward4032 Well, Purdue wouldn't have had to worry about luck if they could have established a bigger lead in the first place. You can blame a few shots on luck but at the end of the day, there are 70-80 points to be scored for each team and it will almost always boil down to who plays better. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way, just gotta deal with it and move on.

Purdue did not play a near perfect game. They made many mistakes throughout the game and the only reason they weren’t blown out was because wisconsin made mistakes too
Purdue had gross turnovers and some questionable foul calls (not saying that's why they lost, was still close game, beat themselves) Edey should've had a better first half, Ivey was playing indecisive first half, should be a good one Saturday
