I do consulting, it's good money and I get exposure to great clients and large projects where I learn a lot. But I only do it as a necessary evil for cashflow.
What do you recommend as the best way to get into scaled revenue? Options I see:
1/ Automate, and outsource as much as possible to get back time, and make it less about me. Then use income to build other web assets on my own time, and grow those to overtake consulting.
2/ Build up a stash and then go cold turkey on the consulting? This seems less wise, but I'm more fearful that I'll always have an excuse for services because cashflow is so good.
Or some other path. Thanks heaps, your video spoke directly to my primary internal monologue.

Fully agree. If you do coaching, you will become a coach.

    Coaching for the algo.
I think communities make more sense than coaching at your income level, as that allows you to do it at scale and not directly trading time for money. Basically CENTS framework.

Hypothetically you had 10k to spend growing a business’s brand in a competitive niche. Would you focus on growing on socials with paid shoutouts ect and not bother with backlinks? Or do you still see value in building backlinks in a competitive niche on a limited budget

For me, hourly penalizes you for being efficient. If you can do the same quality job in less time, why would I charge less for being more efficient? Conversely, hourly billing incentivizes taking your sweet time to increase billables. Flat-rate pricing just makes sense and benefits both parties -- the provider and the client.
