Yes, it's not really meant for you, hehe. But it's actually a set, or let's say, products I really enjoy from The Ordinary. I just bought that one for the demonstration and because it has these little bottles inside. 😃
I reordered the teleprompter, as I had already sent one back. Luckily, it was through Amazon, so returning it was possible. It's helpful; now, for these 'how-to' demos, it's a great way to get used to the setup.
      Thank you ❤️

Your comment was again in the spam folder, lol. It seems UA-cam doesn't like you much, I guess. There was absolutely nothing suspicious about it.
Anyway, I think their products are still among the best out there, even though Estée Lauder took over. I just hope they don't mess with the existing line. As for pricing, it's generally about the same on their website for all regions once you adjust the price to your currency. However, often you can find good deals on websites here in Europe from larger retailers, making it less expensive.

    Hi Melissa!
I have been using this skin care routine for a while (nearly a year) and i’ve only seen small changes..
    1. Cerave SA foaming cleanser
    2. Niacinimide acid (the ordinary)
    3. La roche posay effaclar duo plus
    4. Cerave moisture (sometimes)
    5. La roche posay anti shine sunscreen spf 50 (AM only)
i want to make my acne clear up over the summer holidays (i live in AUS) I have combination skin but very oily in T-zone areas. My main acne happens on my cheeks and my chin. I am a young teenager. I get whiteheads comodonal acne and cystic acne sometimes. I also get lots of dark spots after that stay for a long time.
I’ve thought about switching the cerave SA cleanser to the PanOxyl cleanser 10% as i think it’ll be more effective and clear my acne quickly. Also i’ve thought about using the ordinary peeling solution and glycolic toner.
Let me know of ways i can change my skincare routine so my skin will clear up better! i’ve had acne for 4 years!!! I really wanna get rid of my hyperpigmentation and pimples!
    thanks so much ❤❤❤❤

      Hello,
Well, making acne disappear isn't as easy as one might hope. As you can see, my forehead still isn't clear after all these years, and sometimes I get breakouts on my chin too. I think it's mainly due to the food we consume, possibly because of intolerances or the preservatives, sprays, and other additives it contains. It could also be related to hormonal changes at your age, but there are so many factors to consider that it's hard to pinpoint the exact cause!
However, regarding the cleanser, a 10% benzoyl peroxide concentration is way too strong. I would recommend opting for a gentler option, such as a 2.6% or 4% concentration, available from brands like Cetaphil or Panoxyl. Also, it's advisable to stay away from the peeling solutions and glycolic acid, especially if your acne is localized in certain areas.
I have a routine that has worked for me, which you can find right here: ua-cam.com/video/zq9w8rd8rd8/v-deo.html
The benzoyl peroxide step is the one that helps me the most, so I definitely recommend looking into that!

Hi, my 13 year old has been using the clear set for 2 weeks. Her skin is clear in the morning but by the time she gets in from school her skin is breaking out. Can she use

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  9 місяців тому

Hmm, I think that it might be too much for the skin to tolerate. How often does she use the SA solution? My initial advice would be to reduce the frequency of use and then observe how her skin reacts. Also, keep in mind that pimples are perfectly normal at that age; it's common to have a few now and then. 😉
However, if you decide to include it in her routine, I would suggest alternating the SA serum with the niacinamide every other day. This should be done in the evening skincare routine, before applying moisturizer, if she uses one!

Hi, Melissa :) Thank you for the informative content. I have a question: I’m 23, my skin type is combination/oily, and I have some dark spots in the area of my cheeks and uneven tone that occurred after the teen acne, and some regular breakouts from time to time as well. Currently, I am using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser and Avene Cleanance Mattifying Emulsion as a moisturizer. They work pretty well for me in many aspects and I think that the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser was extremely helpful. However, it occurs to me that something is not enough and I also want to change my moisturizer with something more hydrating. And I just want to make some changes in my evening skincare routine as well. Thus, I have ordered La Roche-Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Facial Cleanser, CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion and 3 The Ordinary products (Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner). I’m looking for your advice as I want to understand whether the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% will be too much along with the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Facial Cleanser and CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion (as these two contain niacinamide in them as well) or that’ll be fine. And what do you think overall about the changing of my cleanser and moisturizer, is it an upgrade or downgrade? Thank you so much in advance :)

      What's your skin type?
Hm... no, I mean, Salicylic Acid can make the skin drier. If that happens, combine it with a moisturizer and/or use it less often. However, do you pat the skin dry after cleansing? If not, I recommend doing so. Also, how much serum do you use, and do you let it absorb into the skin? Does it feel 'dry' only in the beginning, or does it last throughout the entire day/night?

If some areas of your face are oily while others are normal, you likely have combination skin - similar to mine. Although my chin doesn't get that oily compared to my forehead and nose.
Anyway, is that red spot on your forehead a pimple? If yes, Salicylic Acid could help reduce it - if your skin tolerates it well. As for your blackheads/dark dots, I find that it works best to extract them with a blackhead remover tool and then maintain it with your skincare routine.

Indeed, what's really missing from their product line is a low-strength benzoyl peroxide cleanser, around 3-4%, to effectively target fresh breakouts. It seems you're making an effort, but these products may not be very effective in quickly eliminating new breakouts.
Regarding the CeraVe cleanser, it might not be the best choice. Consider switching to The Ordinary or something gentle like the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser. Also, adding a benzoyl peroxide cleanser to your routine, such as the new one from Cetaphil or the 4% PanOxyl, could be beneficial.
I also think your current routine might be too much.
      Here’s a simplified routine:
      AM
Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser or The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser
      Beta Glucan Moisturizer
      Sunscreen
      After Work
Cleanse with one of the recommended cleansers and leave it at that
      PM
Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser (as demonstrated in this video ua-cam.com/video/jG93TiO4n_s/v-deo.html , ideally in the shower before bed)
      Amino Acid + B5
      Beta Glucan or NMF-HA Moisturizer
Then, once a week, simply skip all the products except your cleanser to prevent over-treatment.

@@davidhess3320 Yes, it's just that when layering so many products, they sit on the skin's surface. From my experience, this causes issues. Using 1-2 serums is okay, but more than that is simply too much, especially when also using toner, essence, moisturizer, or sunscreen.
