Simple enough really, but she wanted to make an issue of it.
There are people out there just waiting on the opportunity to be offended. The lady who asked the questions was 83 years old. If this was ever a police waste of time this is it.
What a shame that Prince Philip is no longer with us. I'm sure he would have dealt with Ms Fulani (beautiful English name) with just the level of tact and diplomacy she deserves.
And she was born in wilsden, her parents are from the caribean, plus she 'adopted' the African name (and dress style). I dont think she knows where she comes from herself, or could it be 'cultural appropriation', isnt that racist?
Prince Phillip would have dealt with this ridiculous situation far far better than the King & Prince William have they’ve just left poor Lady Sarah out to dry pretty disgusting really...
@@bess9265 It is disgusting that this is even an issue. The media took this salacious story on, knowing it would cause havoc for the RF at this very precarious time. They've had to deny racism ever since Ms Markle joined, then left, the RF. Add their tell all Netflix series, to the damaging Oprah interview, plus Harry's book coming out in a few weeks, they must not overreact until all the facts are in. This accusation of racism, using a loyal elder of the palace, Godmother to Prince William, is despicable. Done while Harry and Meghan received their 'Award' and while Prince William was away. For PW to acknowledge the debacle at the palace, it would have taken over the news in the USA, instead of focusing on his important visit, building unity, not tearing it down, the way Marlene Headley and other race baiters are doing. Lady Susan is an accidental pawn in her nasty game, Ms Headley posts publicly about her dislike of the RF and support and friendship to Ms Markle. After she went public with her slander to all the news stations, she deleted many of her anti RF posts. She went to the event with an agenda, not even with an invitation, she used the invitation of another person. Lady Susan's church congregation are appalled she's being named a racist, the congregation is 90% black and of various ethnicities. They say she is a kind person, friendly and socialises with everyone.
Lady Hussey was just engaging in conversation and trying to be friendly. She was NOT racist. Some people look for racism anywhere they can and call people out for it whenever they feel like it. This elderly lady was just just showing interest in her which is very kind. I do not agree with the way this INNOCENT lady has been treated. She was a loyal servant to Queen Elizabeth for 60 years (most of her life) and now she has been kicked out?!! Outrageous. I am posative this lady meant NO HARM.
the female in question's real name is Marlene Headley from Willesden, her parents were called Gladstone and Mildred. She changed her name to Ngozi Fulani, and is known for setting-up a Black Female only refuge. Imagine if a white only refuge was ever set up. No doubt she would be on to that one, too.

The woman in question changed her name to an African one and wears traditional African dress to public events, proving that she herself identifies partly or fully with Africa not where she was born in the UK, asking where that is is not racism it's just polite conversation, her outrage is a fake race grievance, which is her entire career if you research it.
An animal print maxi dress, cardigan and black headband/scarf is not "Traditional African Dress". She changed her name(rejecting a slave name) many decades ago. She explained early on in the conversation that she would not know of her specific heritage because no records were kept.
Research, her cultural pursuits of promoting traditional dance and her long career as a marriage registrar? Or the fact that she changed career to start an organisation in honour of a young mum and her baby who were murdered? That young mum, Valerie Forde, worked hard for the whole community in East Hackney.
The fact that this complete non-story , and totally fake outrage, becomes headline story, actually just goes to show the lack of actual racism in the U.K. today. God knows what countries who have actual problems make of this weird hysteria.
Well said Rod. In the course of my own work, which was primarily chatting to and welcoming visitors to an historic site, I would often ask visitors where they were visiting from. This was always a good way of finding out about their needs and interests and enabled me to do my utmost to ensure their visit was enriching and tailored to include features, which they might enjoy. It was not and never intended to be racially insulting, condescending or showing unconscious bias, simply human curiosity (recall that very normal trait?) and sincere interest and a good way of making visitors feel comfortable and relaxed. A woman with Caribbean parents who changes her name from Marlene Headley to Ngozi Fulani to sound more African, gets upset when asked where she's from. She's done everything to amplify her ethnicity but is offended, no outraged, if an 83-year-old woman is curious about her heritage.
She didn't ask about her heritage. She repeatedly asked where she was from because she seemed not to believe that a black person could be other than an immigrant. But even if all that is the complainant being over-sensitive, it doesn't explain the rudeness of Lady Hussey without consent touching the woman's hair.
@@johnfernleigh1352 Was Ms Headley found equally offensive seen in photo's at the same event, with her hand on another woman's shoulder, leaning forward to talk? I'm not sure moving a strand of wig material to see a name tag, is comparable.

She's 83 for goodness sake. I worked with the elderly, many of them developed little quirks and changes in their behaviour, as they have aged, not picking up nuances in conversation, being dogmatic and persistent in conversations, not listening properly. Lady Susan looked quite frail. For a young fit woman to play the victim and throw this elderly person to the wolves of the press is actually cruel. She could have a heart problem, anything. The shock could be catastrophic. Anyway, it may destroy any peace she hoped to enjoy at the end of her life. The response of the press has been shameful.
This woman with a huge chip on her shoulder and a supporter of Megan Markle the poor racist victim should have answered the question as it was a question showing interest in a person,'s heritage which is perfectly natural instead of a boring question such as How do you like the weather?
....and if she *hadn't* been asked about her background or heritage, having turned up in a costume with an adopted (not born-with) name...she'd probably have claimed offense at having had her heritage ignored! so it was engineered to succeed ( to raise a row ) from the get-go.
I am confused. During a news interview today, Ngozi Fulani said that the Hussey incident was, 'a blur'. Yet she supposedly wrote a full transcript of the event... ?
I live in the US and I have an English accent. People ask me all the time where I came from and they comment on my accent. It is a way of breaking the ice and starting a conversation. People then start mentioning British TV shows they like, and places they have visited in the UK, or they ask what football team I support. I worked for a multinational company and have visited China, India and most countries in Europe. People regularly asked where I came from. I did not realise I should have been offended. Britain has gone mad.
She wore an African dress so it was a perfectly relevant question to ask as there are 54 countries on that continent, so why did she not answer. I was sad that no one apart from one man gave Lady Susan the benefit of the doubt on Question Time last night. How come we haven’t heard Lady Susan’s version. I’m sure it was innocent. People are genuinely interested in what sort of heritage one has. I can imagine my Mother having a peep at her badge and asking the same sort of questions in her 80’s. Such a shame William did not have anything nice to say about Lady Susan. It’s very sad. If I had felt slightly offended by someone’s questioning, I would have moved on. She’s suppose to be a charitable person ?? Really ?? 😢
I was listening to the BBC radio 4 news tonight when driving. According to the highly biased in this black woman's favour coverage, the elderly 81 year old lady touched her hair in order to read that name tag with the preposterous name that she has changed her former English sounding name to and she regarded that as an assault. Clearly she avoided giving a direct answer and encouraged further questions by doing so. She considers what happened to her to be domestic violence against her by the old lady. It was absolutely pathetic to listen to. They did however play a recording of her speaking and in my opinion scored an own goal because what she said was so ridiculous and pathetic claiming it was violence surely nobody could take her seriously. I think it is about time for the public to say enough is enough. We are sick and tired of our Royal family being accused of being something that they are not and this incident is just beyond belief. We need to start a petition for the elderly lady to be reinstated, ALL apologies to be formally withdrawn, the complainant investigated for her behaviour and her motives and her charity investigated for racial discrimination as it caters only to women of ONE specific ethnicity. No right minded person could consider what happened to be racism and personally I don't see that the elderly lady did anything wrong whatsoever. We really need to come back to common sense and stop this ridiculous indiscriminate calling people racist or accusing them of racism for the most trivial of things. I wish that HM The KIng would tell this black woman to shut up, stop whinging, stop making trouble and get a life. I hope she is never invited anywhere again.
The furore in a teacup, the molehill turned into mountain, its not harmed Ms Fulani one little bit, her face and charity are on all the front pages and our TV screens! If there's been any racism she's just as guilty as Mrs Hussey.
A Meghan supporter has gone out of her way to hurt a 83 year old lady asking what country are you from having a senior moment not asking what is your heritage this is nuts. A life devoted to our late Queen who did her job for free has been totally disregarded. I pray nothing happens to this hard working 83 year old. Ageism is a trouble thing
All the ethnic person had to do was with a little understanding tell Lady Hussey about her heritage! There will never be peace between our ethnic groups when FEELINGS are so important! The media are making a mountain out of a mole hill! This is egregious!
The (alleged) professional journalists of the BBC showing they have absolutely no comprehension of the word 'racist'. They inflated the story and chose to use the words racist and racism because they hoped that that would somehow make it 'news'. Was this really of sufficient interest and worthy of national news (which they are still milking for all its worth)? A minor question asked more than once from an elderly and no doubt forgetful lady mingling with a group of unknown people who has loyally served the royal family for decades. The magic of turning a non-story into sudden, dramatic 'news'!

I am foreigner ( from South America ) , and when I meet someone that is not English for curiosity I like to ask where is their background from. And many times I am asked the same question . I never find someone that get offended . I think that Woman have a hidden agenda (or a big problem ).
Lady Hussey had the great misfortune of encountering a race-hustler and mistaking her for a reasonable, professional woman without an anti-white axe to grind . My real anger is directed at Prince William for distancing himself from her. After all , he has first hand experience of the damage a race-hustler can do and the poison that their very oxygen to live and breath.
Marlene Headley, to my mind is nothing but a trouble maker. Her African name is made up, as was pointed out by a person from her ancestor's part of Africa. African culture and tradition, is to show respect to the elderly. If she was my daughter, I would be so shamed by her. Marlene claims to have been traumatized, but stayed on till the end of the event! I would say that Lady Hussey at 83 must be traumatized as a result of this diatribe. I am African born, now living in Australia and am often asked where I am from and how long I have been here. Africa is one large continent made up of 45 countries, with many tribes in each country. I take pride and pleasure in talking about my heritage.
What concerns me is that it seems clear this was a set up. It’s been reported that Ms Fulani had a full transcript of the conversation she had with Lady Hussey, having gone armed with a tape recorder. This suggests that it had been her intention to ‘trap’ someone from the moment she arrived. Unluckily for Lady Hussey, it was her. Claiming that she felt it was a ‘form of abuse’, simply because she was asked where she was from is absolute rubbish. Has it not occurred to her that Lady Hussey was quite possibly genuinely interested in knowing more about her? The fact that Ms Fulami arrived in some form of African dress would certainly make you wonder. If I meet someone socially for the first time and they clearly don’t have an English accent, I usually ask where they are from, simply because I’m genuinely interested in knowing. But it now seems that as long as they’re white, it’s not a problem, whereas is they’re of colour, it’s a ‘form of abuse’. Total madness.
People from different countries are never offended when you ask them about their background - they like the interest you are showing them, and willingly talk about their country and heritage. The only people who are "offended" by such questions are metropolitan liberals, and virtue-signalling bores who think that their fake outrage will make keep the attention off them, lest they be accused of something themselves.
What's most notable is how the BBC hasn't mentioned the absolutely massive backlash there has been against this charity grifter who people are saying changed her name to make herself sound African. No wonder she didn't want to say where she came from.
My biggest shock in this sad situation when an elderly woman was abused by an off the wall person who would be the same age as her grandchildren! Then 2 RF family members added to this abuse!

Because SOME dark skinded people want to be the victims everytime,
Now some old dear has lost her job after 62 years service - just because she’s not PC. She’s ancient - and from another era - give her a break. Many people call themselves Afro Caribbean and they don’t see themselves as 100% British. Many people that live here are BIPOs. British in Passport Only. It’s a good job she wasn’t treated like a gay person is in her beloved Africa - or else she would have something to complain about and she’d turn up the victimhood a notch and she’d squeal even louder. I’m a gay man - and the best way to handle it isn’t playing the race and victim card - some people and particularly some racial groups and people of certain religions seem to take offence at the most trivial thing - try asking them what they think about me - and what their people do to people like me in their own Utopian country - that they don’t want to live in. I’ve worked since I was 16 and retire in 2024 - after 50 years of paying tax much of it sent to countries that we pander to that would kill or imprison me and when they come over don’t change their minds - but don’t mind taking my hard earned money whether here, Africa or some other sh hole.
And will win publicity and money

She probably did not have a choice. Really the Royals should have stood by her and said exactly what we all know. It was a normal question and the response of Fulani or whatever her name is was wildly OTT.

William helped throw her under the bus didn't he?
We as British people are being taken advantage of. The supposed victim is a worker for a Black only charity. Yet a British pensioner who has served our Monarchy has been thrown under a bus. Someone in Real Authority has to come out and support her. This is wrong.
You can bet it is mostly white money going into the "charity"

An animal print maxi dress, cardigan and black headband/scarf is not "Traditional African Dress". She changed her name(rejecting a slave name) many decades ago. She explained early on in the conversation that she would not know of her specific heritage because no records were kept.
Research, her cultural pursuits of promoting traditional dance and her long career as a marriage registrar? Or the fact that she changed career to start an organisation in honour of a young mum and her baby who were murdered? She's 83 for goodness sake. I worked with the elderly, many of them developed little quirks and changes in their behaviour, as they have aged, not picking up nuances in conversation, being dogmatic and persistent in conversations, not listening properly. Lady Susan looked quite frail. For a young fit woman to play the victim and throw this elderly person to the wolves of the press is actually cruel. She could have a heart problem, anything. The shock could be catastrophic. Anyway, it may destroy any peace she hoped to enjoy at the end of her life. The response of the press has been shameful.

Her African name is made up, as was pointed out by a person from her ancestor's part of Africa.
African culture and tradition, is to show respect to the elderly. If she was my daughter, I would be so shamed by her.

Marlene practices this cultural appropriation for nefarious reasons, harming race relations and the majority of honest blacks in Britain.
Total woke nonsense.
People from different countries are never offended when you ask them about their background - they like the interest you are showing them, and willingly talk about their country and heritage. Absolutely outrageous situation will someone please brief the palace
My biggest shock in this sad situation when an elderly woman was abused by an off the wall person who would be the same age as her grandchildren! Then 2 RF family members added to this abuse!
