I agree with you on the political side, but not so much on the orating side. His spoken English is quite poor when not rehearsed, e.g. he gets stuck for words very easily. Any time he sounds fluent and natural, it's because he's rehearsed well. Also the sound of his voice is very appealing, which makes everything he says sound better than it really is.
