Yes, it suffers when meeting tier 9, but I find it to happen so rarely that I don't really mind. I mostly use light and medium tanks anyway, so as long as I can still scout and assist it's fine (although yes, it's a bad tier for heavies -- it does have stuffs likee T29 and Tiger though, which should handle high tier just fine)
i remember when so many people were complaining about how awful the British light tanks were, and now the Manticore is a favourite of high-skill players. interestingly people thought the same of the elc even 90. stats can be deceiving.
That’s only because of the addition of the commanders vision system with equipment 2.0 lol. The meta completely changed. The manticore is the only tier 10 light that has enough camo and viewrange to stay hidden while spotting enemies with CVS. Same goes but to a lesser extent to the EVEN 90.
I just started the grind on the 65t; It’s pretty bad, but you CAN get some solid hull down action with the stock turret. It’s just stupid you have to use it or have a gigantic weak spot.
Yeah, its by far the worst tank ive played, its slow, has weak armor, kndof ok gun and has to face tier 10s. And thats saying a lot, as ive played the bp, churchill game carrier, t69, t54e1 (which i personally liked) and the awful panther.
@@willdenoble1898 I think the T69 is not nearly as bad at most people try to say. I've played both from stock on a free to play account and the 65t was awful far worse to deal with than the T69. The problem with the 65t is not that it has no armor or not that its slow its both combined. Its slow and has no armor. Its like a tier 8 TOG II with basically the same health and fighting far more useful guns. The T69 is not super fast but it has decent mobility and a good unload speed so it is great at flanking.
I feel like the British TD line was my most enjoyable grind from the go. I never dreaded playing any of them, and the Turtle is still one of my favorite premium tanks by far.
I was leveling my tortoise years ago on WoT Xbox edition. I don’t remember the exact timeframe but I know it was definitely before the introduction of any of the Chinese tanks. Back then, it was AWFUL grinding for the final gun. The little turret/captain’s hatch on the top of the tank was paper machè and everyone knew to shoot it.
@Narushat Impostora Except he Earned all that experience, he didn't Cheat for it. Quickiebaby has the wonderful option to not grind on some parts of the game, but he does it anyway out of pure sturbbornsess and, if I'm being honest, kinda dumb.
yeah that tank is really great, especially with the buffs it received from last patch. Got 64% Win Ratio in it, lol. Absolute beast. Would've been worth to be featured in this video, but apparently QB doesn't like mid-tier tanks.
I've played it - if you enjoy the other TDs tier 5-8 leading up to the Tortoise, you'll enjoy the Tortoise as well. It's an exceptionally good line and I had plenty of fun playing them all. Make sure to have a Turbo ready, though.
my friend plays the tortoise and when he gets a spawn/map where he can peek while hiding his weak spot he obliterates everything. Pretty sure he averages around 3.5k or some absurd number
It's always good fun, my go to tank if I'm having a bad session and my highest winrate tank. If you play a city map you can come around corners with your frontal armor angled and obliterate everyone. If you end up in larger open maps you just have to keep some more distance, this way they can't get your sides and your armor is magnificent from a distance. All while having an amazing gun. For crew skills and equipment focus on track repair time and dpm, you will be able to perma track enemies and they will be suprised by you repairing your tracks in an instant every time they try to track you.
SAME! I love the AT8, AT7, not so much the AT15 cuz it's frankly just a poor tank, and mixing up what I know about these tanks into the tortoise, I really want it! Too bad I need a lot of xp to grind.
I think... that just looking at win rate is not an accurate representation of how good a tank is. Heavily armored td's with great dpm have more influence on a battle than their long-range sniping brothers, whereas the ebr's counterpart is always another ebr.
@@ogmechsftw I wasn't saying there is no correlation between the two just that your tank class matters a lot especially in the case of td's because there are a lot of maps where lightly armored td's have nothing to offer and so even though they are strong on some maps their winrate is low
Torti is my highest win rate tank. It was at 60% for awhile but two days of losses, despite being top 3-5 in all the games in experience, dropped it down to 54%

there was a period (not even 2 years ago) when my target for the tortoise was over 4.2k dmg and 700 assistance for 2/3 games. and never below 2500 dmg now i am glad when i get 2500 dmg either i dont stop moving the entire game and i dont get to the enemies before they die OR my team is half dead before i arrive to the battle and cant get to an acceptable postion (and i am a completely average palyer with those old targets for the vehicle... its just taht meta had f***ed it up)

It's funny how QB somehow missed the T-34-1 which was right after the AMX M4 mle. 51 and went for the CS-63. The T-34-1 is a ridiculously good Tier 7 due to it's armor, mobility, and the gun.
I don't know how the Tortoise is one of the best tanks. In my eight years of playing the game it is the one and only tank I have saved up free experience to skip because I hated it so much. The T95 was my first tier nine tank and the Tortoise has always been a rival to it, but it took me a few years to finally think "fine, let's see how this tank compares to my T95" and go after it. I suffered through getting all the upgrades because of course you can't properly judge a tank until it is at its best, but even fully upgraded I was like: "What is this garbage?" "How is this comparable to the T95?"
I agree with you...I have around 6 k battles in T95 and around 3 k with Tortoise. They are my favorite tanks, but T95 is waaaay better. With T95 i am not afraid to face any Tier X tank ... maybe only light tanks because they are way faster :D
I know people like to bash the amx m4 54, but i have more fun games in it while sporting 58% winrate in it. The 130mm cannon is my go to, so when people just don't respect it you can abuse that fact. Being able to overmatch have come clutch more than i thought it would when i got it.
Meanwhile the tortoise in blitz: **complete pain** I just don't like how much the blitz version differs from the pc version in tanks, you can't expect an op tank in WOTpc to be op in blitz.

Did u notice that, most of the highest win ratios are on armored TD's? Isn't it all about just using them in frontline to PUSH lanes instead of camping behind in glasscanons TD's. Seems like it makes a difference on the battlefield when u have more bruteforce to push with HT's

I think the best light Tank ist the t100, cause ist has the godlike gunhandling, Same Camo as manticore and Armor which often bounces even Tier ten Tanks. Manticore is IMO Up so high because mostly experienced players Go Up that tree top either to have a Challenge or it is the Last Tank missing Form Them. Medium depends on many facts cuz they are so versatile. The Amx really is a gem. Also Take the caernarvon in your consideration. As a TD i would Vote For wt auf pz 4 with 128 mm gun
The AMX M4 54 is very underrated imo. The lower plate trolls so many people, the frontal armor is good, the gun handing and accuracy are way better than you'd expect for 570 alpha.

But for 570 alpha the accuracy is awesome, the dispersion is a little lacking, but I have the tank set up to where that isn't much of a problem. It doesn't snap shot well, but aimed shots go where you aim them which is all you can ask in WoT.
Well.. The "top" gun not being the best choice seems to be a running theme on French vehicles - when you get more raw power but usually at the massive expense of handling.

I got the CS 2 weeks ago and the only fast thing I managed to do in it is dying :D I'm not feeling Tier X matches that much yet and that speed gets me into stupid positions more. Need to play that tank more wisely
In the AMX game, seizing that position and causing the entire enemy team to futilely concentrate on you was definitely a key play. Half a dozen opposing tanks just wasting shells bouncing off you while the rest of your team shot them.
My biggest mistake playing this game is when i was playing it at NA server while im from asia with russian TD line lol its hard to hit something when your ping is 300ms +
I play my Kv-5 as a giant distraction, get in with the medium tank ball, and charge forward, the enemies panic, becasue that is a lot of russian steel charging at you. then all the mediums shoot them while they are distracted, also face hug the most dangerous vehicle to keep them occupied

700k free xp is only enough to fully get all the field mods for 3 tier X tanks so not that much anyways

I got the Turtle 1 in one of the WT portals. So I'm training a crew for the Tortoise in it. Once I have enough credits, I'll start to grind the line.

The AMX M4 54 is very underrated imo. The lower plate trolls so many people, the frontal armor is good, the gun handing and accuracy are way better than you'd expect for 570 alpha.
Do you really use the 540 alpha gun? Its seems so irrelevant compared to the the first gun.
@@steftoonen982 Yeah, the 570 alpha gun is great. The only problem is the garbage gold ammo. But for 570 alpha the accuracy is awesome, the dispersion is a little lacking, but I have the tank set up to where that isn't much of a problem. It doesn't snap shot well, but aimed shots go where you aim them which is all you can ask in WoT.
Well.. The "top" gun not being the best choice seems to be a running theme on French vehicles - when you get more raw power but usually at the massive expense of handling.

I am loving the tortoise so far. Played 14 games with 4.4k average damage, its an absolute monster. Bond turbo is a must though
i would like to see you do top tanks or bottom tanks in more mid tiers instead of high tiers

That Leopard In the right flank Held Four to Six tanks alone,with some support, as I noticed it on the minimap. Unfortunately, I play only Blitz and cannot say if this was the situation,but I would like someone to teach me, if possible.
And Great GAme!Quicky, In Blitz , the tortoise cant do anything but cammp, unless it is an experienced player,as it gets flanked and penned easily.

Has the Turtle 1 been on sale yet?? I’ve been on the lookout to purchase this tank but to no avail. It feels like forever. I know I’ll never grind up to the Tortoise, but I would like to grab a taste of it through that premium tank.

I got the CS 2 weeks ago and the only fast thing I managed to do in it is dying :D I'm not feeling Tier X matches that much yet and that speed gets me into stupid positions more. Need to play that tank more wisely
In the AMX game, seizing that position and causing the entire enemy team to futilely concentrate on you was definitely a key play. Half a dozen opposing tanks just wasting shells bouncing off you while the rest of your team shot them.
Yeah, but let's be honest, QB made a mistake there, but he got lucky. He was in a scary crossfire and he said that it is to his advantage, looooooool!

My biggest mistake playing this game is when i was playing it at NA server while im from asia with russian TD line lol its hard to hit something when your ping is 300ms +

I play my Kv-5 as a giant distraction, get in with the medium tank ball, and charge forward, the enemies panic, becasue that is a lot of russian steel charging at you. then all the mediums shoot them while they are distracted, also face hug the most dangerous vehicle to keep them occupied
Not really suprised for Tortoise the *best*, as a guy who mains are Badger and Tortoise.
My second setup for the manticore is vents, binos and commanders vision system
