I remember the days of Family Worship Center in Columbia, SC. He had 3 locations at one time before it was a popular trend. My dad used to run into him at the airport on his way to preach some place all the time. He and the late Bishop Willie James Campbell were two of COGIC’s best orators. Always preaching with fire and passion!!! May he rest well!!!
God is definitely getting his number this year. Bishop was a dear friend of mine. A very present support in my ministry. He was my guest at the church I started in Ohio. I brought him here and he tore up my little church. Love this man of God! A preaching machine. I would often tease him that I wanted to preach like him when I grew up. Our loss but heavens gain! Rest well Bishop! Rest well! I’ll see you in the morning.

Often we hear people say that we are to be ready when he comes. They often talk about the signs of the time. Referring to the book of Revelations. But Revelations also states that even though we see the signs, the end will not be here. I say and tell them that the day God calls you home that will be your end. So it behooves us to stay ready and live each day as our last. Always treat others right because we never know when the last time we will see or talk to them. As much as possible try to live your life with no regrets. Because life doesn't come with a rewind button. If it did we'd all use it.
God has a rose garden and everyday he visit his rose garden to take a rose back home with him. May the work that Bishop Derrick W Hutchins has done speak him may his soul rest in peace. Prayers for his family, church, jurisdiction and those who are affected by the loss.

This is so unbelievable. We just laid our Queen, Evangelist Louise Patterson to rest this past Friday. Now Bishop Hutchins. Our church are losing some heavy hitters. My condolences to his family and the church that he Pastored.

This is a shock! My mom and I were just thinking about him a couple weeks ago because we both used to watch his Sunday services and Bible Study together. I’ll never forget when I was a young child the first time hearing him speak at West Angeles COGIC during our Holy Convocation. He will be TRULY missed! Prayers are going up for his entire family and our COGIC family. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Gonna miss Hutch 😭 I use to attend Family Worship Center. When I was a little boy he gave me a $50 bill for playing souled out on the organ during a Bible study service. I was 9 🖤❤️
