It became a natural ecosystem! Plants growing, guppy swimming, guppy fry in the plants, shrimps sitting on the subsrate.....don't know why but I liked this tank sooo much. It's really cool. I could sit all day observing all these things in this tank!

Im currently having a DIY planted tank with just construction sand no soil...For required nutrients Im dosing ei ferts though.... with diy co2 ..... After your update on your tank im now willing to setup one same as yours ..... Keep up the good work!

@@rahulgawas5027 no no bhai not normal soil. You will have to tell ( to nursery )specifically that they give organic compost only . Yes you can buy online but it’s expensive. Best is from nursery which will
Cost you approx 100 rs . But you will be needing river sand to cover organic compost as it’s very porous and will get mixed and make water dirty . River sand is normal maurang used in construction

Hi Bro! Your project seems to be quite interesting! I saw your earlier part too. A piece of suggestion is 1. Narration of your story, 2. Selection of scene, 3. Selection of plants, 4. Selection of resources,
1. Selection of story and narration of your tank consider your hardscape. ( Nature, Jungle, Such Style, Brazilian style etc)
2. Substrate:- Lowest layer use red colour baked bricks, for elevation and porous material used for bacteria formations.
3. Lower layer as compost which used, fantastic idea. But should be min. 1" away from aquarium glass, can be hidden by your Rivers sand, for neat and clean esthetician. Refer to TGM from England.
4. Carpeting and Moss in frontage, not advising, only suggestions.
5. Going for DIY and low tech projects, better do DSM.
6. DIY lights are more calculated as 0.5W/US gl, for low light plants, 1W/US gl, for Medium light plants, 2W/US gl, for Well light or High Light plants.
7. Selection of plants after your lights.
8. Height of your tank and light distance from your surface, you may utilise Geletin colour papers too for giving effects to your DIY lights.
9. Give your time, patience and passion to your planted tank.
10. It's your own garden in water at home. It's your own child.

Bro this is a low tech tank with river sand and compost . So it leaves lot of organic waste n mud like waste . So I mostly try to siphon out of debris. As much I can n just 30 percent water change weekly . Will make a video on it

Sir here are few planted set ups which cost even higher . But they are very Hi tech with everything very advance but this my set up is a low tech tank . Where I have used diy light and no co2 . So if ull add everything from organic compost to bulb n plant . It won’t go more than 1000 rs . I don’t feed anything but for guppies I give regular pellets . ( I just crushed them with fingers so they can eat easily )

I am planning on getting into this hobby by getting a small 2 feet tank and put a bunch of guppies in it. I also want to add live plants to this tank but I am not sure if I am ready to put in the efforts and money for a planted tank with soil, heavy lighting and additional CO2. My local fish store suggests I put anubias in my tank as anubias can live, and he said even thrive, in a gravel/ sand substrate. Can I really plant anubias in a gravel substrate without adding any extra CO2 for my guppy tank as he says or am I being scammed?
Hello bhai . There is a long theory behind this . First yes there r few plant which doesn’t need soil. Like Anubias, java fern and moss . These can b tied to the moss and they will grow without co2 and also n low light . Now let’s talk abt other like amazon sword or guppy grass , cabomba. These r easy plant n can grow too when tucked in substrate or left floating .. because these plant require my r very few nutrient . And by fish food and waste and ammonia then bacteria convert ammonia to nitrate and these nitrate also . All of it is used by plant so they will grow .. but this only happen if ur lazy . If ur very active . Always clean water . Do water changes . Give less food . ( then less waste ) these plant will suffer too .
