From the Academy Award-winning producer Simon Chinn (Man on Wire and Searching for Sugarman), produced by Lightbox Media Company, Episode One sees our Director Phyllida Lloyd visit Tina Turner to talk about life, music and the stage.

Never had stroke but she had so much plastic surgerys the last 8-9 years !
I really don't believe she had plastic surgery, she did admit to having corrective surgery to repair her nose because of all the times of it healing inproperly from being broken by Ike, but you got to understand she is native American and black, both don't Crack lol she's actually more native American than she is black. Her mother was 3/4 Cherokee and her father was 3/4 Navajo and they were only 1/4 black

@@tamasfischer2464 Sure Tina has had work done most stars do. In the last 8-9 years, she had a stroke, vertigo, cancer, a kidney transplant, and dialysis treatments three times a week. I don't think during this time she had any work done. Check out her new book. She gives a candid run through of her life. The past 10 years have been harrowing. I personally give her a thumbs up for doing this video with no makeup most stars are too vain.
#myTINA. She was such a favorite of mine, still is! She ran across the street to a hotel, with no money, and the manager helped her. She proved a woman could take her life into her own hands and leave an abusive husband, and make it! NOTHING was handed to her, she took it herself! Thank you, Tina❤️

I have a special love for Tina who I have adored for many years and have seen her in concert a few times. She comforted me through my divorce in the 90's as I rode my bike daily listening to her Foreign Affair album. I was broken-hearted and could relate deeply to every song on that record and she lifted me up and gave me courage and the strength to carry on. During the divorce I drove to "The Gorge" in George, Washington to her outdoor "Wildest Dreams" concert. I was tired from not enough sleep and had posters of her in my van windows & cassette tapes playing her music all the way there. I had on my skirt & high-heeled black shiny shoes (Tina style) and had such a great time there despite stepping in the mud around me. I made friends with a band of women there and was asked to move by a group in the row which actually gave me a better view of the stage, I was feeling very blessed and excited to see Tina. I wrote her a love note on my ticket stub & shyly walked to the front & gave it to a security guard who put it in his pocket with much hope, but I didn't think she would get it. I had a wonderful time as she performed as she did her thing, totally going above and beyond our wildest expectations, she never disappoints, giving her all! I left England to marry a service man when I was 20 years old away from my family, no-one to turn to in times of trouble. My love for Tina still grows to this day, I will soon be 62 and happily re-married to the sweetest man in the world who Thank God adores me. I watch these videos of Tina performing & I always cry as she continues to fill me. I would love to see her show in London and visit mum in the nursing home at the same time in Suffolk but I am dreamer. I am getting read to retire but never from Tina Turner, who will always be my idol.

Congratulations to the full team - We came to London for 21 March and we enjoyed every second. It was a great show. We saw you all smiling, singing and jumping up from your seats. Everyone got into this rhythm on the opening night. Well done and lots of success!

what she ment for me is indescribable .... i went (like many others) through a rough periode in my life where i was rejected by family ... they never gave me anything else but heartache, tears .... and drove me to almost making an end to my life. but i always fund energy is her songs, in her act ... just in the persona she created .... fight for what you want and don't take no for an answer ... work for and on it and you'll get succes out of it.
years ago, i wrote a letter to her, but i never sended it to her .... i"ve got it in my save, so maybe one day, i will send it.

I was in Tina’s home in Suíça 🇨🇭, was a Sunday around 13:00 November,saw her and Erwin come trough the gate, and when Tina saw me she turned her face between her legs , I asked for one picture and Erwin was point with his hands no, the road was I 👻 ghost , no one on the street, I get pictures in front, was my heart breaking because I love her, I really wished to take her hand and say 🙏 for your music and life inspiration for me , I been in London in all concerts , and now she had one second chance, gratefully she had another opportunity to keep alive , after her heath issues and Erwin was there.. love Tina Spain 🇪🇸 Brasil 🇧🇷 😍

I love Tina Turner, but I just liked her a little bit more as an artist when she was with Ike.

Tina had more soul and was more gritty with Ike. She was also in her prime being in her 20s and 30s. I admire her perseverance and resilience but in the 1980s she went European rock star. Black people created Rock and Roll, Ike Turner is credited with writing the first Rock and Roll song "Rocket 88" so she has always been Rock and Roll but Tina became disconnected from black people during her solo career.

MYembrace7 She had more success in her older years because her audience expanded with the birth of MTV but she was in her prime physically like all humans when she was younger. Could she still rock the stage in her 40's - 60's? Yes but she was more dynamic in her 20's and 30's. Watch her performance on the TNT show in 1965 and her performance in Mexico in 1975.

A diretora fala que essa é uma das histórias de artista mais belas do século XX, de uma mulher em busca da liberdade. Fala que ao fazer o musical sente a presença de Deus e dos anjos. No carro ela fala que está ansiosa para conhecer a Tina, e por fazer uma história tão intensa em apenas duas horas. Ela pergunta a Tina sobre o que lhe importa mais seu lado da história ou o som de sua alma? Tina diz que o som, a musicalidade. Tina fala que toda sua musica foi baseada em sentimentos reais, não era como em Hollywood, mas tudo verdadeiro quando ela atuava eram seus sentimentos reais que estavam ali. Tina fala que foi uma jovem escravizada e que trabalhou sentindo dores que ninguém pode imaginar: olhos roxos, nariz quebrado, e que fazia isso porque eles precisavam do dinheiro para viver. Ela termina dizendo que não precisava fazer esse musical e nenhum outro show na vida, mas faz isso porque sente falta das pessoas e porque sente que deve oferecer algo a elas em troca. E finaliza desejando um enorme sucesso ao musical e que esse viaje o mundo para que as pessoas lembrem do seu trabalho e legado.

I agree, but she's 78. She's had a hard life, she worked hard to get to this stage in her life. She can finally rest. She's an inspiration to so many. I can see the beauty even without make up. But I do see what you meant.
