Great informative video. Few notes: 1. Even if you didn’t know about the FAVIN , the minimum requirement just to get on the plane will be the 10 days health certificate. 2. If your pet can travel in the cab with you, taking it to the airport quarantine station is still a requirement. A person from the airline will take you there after landing.
This video came at the perfect time. Not wanting to get too excited yet but I'm 90% sure I just landed a job with housing. I just started looking at how to get 1 dog and 1 cat to Hawaii without quarantine.
This is really helpful. I appreciate all you do to make sure your clients (and future friends), have a good experience moving to Hawaii. For this topic specifically, we have two cats (siblings, about 2.5 years old). Are there any additional steps for cats or different tests needed, etc? Thank you!
There is some confusion in the video about what a titer is vs a rabies vaccine - the FAVN is a titer. A titer is a blood test that establishes immunity -> FAVN is the TYPE of titer. You need two rabies vaccines with a blue ink signature bc you need to send the original vaccine docs to them ❤
This was a very informative video thank you so much. I am moving to Hawaii from NYC in 3.5 years and I have a cat so I'll make sure I get all that stuff done.
When my wife I relocated from the mainland to Kaua'i a representative from the local humane society met us at the airport baggage claim and verified our dog's rabies documents were in order and issued rabies tags on the spot. I was amazed with the Kaua'i Humane Society level of excellent service. I would recommend contacting them to make the relocation process easier.
Titer isn’t a shot, it’s a test. “A titer is a laboratory test that measures the presence and amount of antibodies in blood. A titer may be used to prove immunity to disease. A blood sample is taken and tested. If the test is positive (above a particular known value) the individual has immunity.”
I have looked at this as I’m debating moving. I’m worried that my cat does not like the vet. She gets happy pills before the cat vet sees her. She’s sweet and walks on a leash but when vet things start happening she is very 🌶️🌶️🌶️. I worry if I move how they will handle that at the ag station.
I just checked and United Alaskan southwest and delta do not ship dogs to Hawaii I plan on driving my dog across the coast to lax and fly her by Hawaiian airlines
I think you could do that in addition to buying an under seat depending on the airline and how relaxed the crew is, but not as a replacement to the under seat booking

Ha! Same here. 1 dog.

Appreciate the clarification you're sharing.
Alaska Air under seat is $100 each way.
Video says they will post checklist. But no such posting exists!
Aloha Team, is there a list of airlines that allow pets to travel in cabin to Honolulu? Thank you! Trying to book tickets now.
Double-check but United is apparently cabin-only across the board, you can't even put your dogs underneath.

@@thomasreto2997 also, Alaska and Hawaiian just merged, so that’s something to pay attention to.
Thank you Kenny for the insight. It helps a lot!
Titer is a test not a shot
If you have a cat can I just buy the seat next to me at full cost instead of cargo plane or under seat ?
I think you could do that in addition to buying an under seat depending on the airline and how relaxed the crew is, but not as a replacement to the under seat booking
@@sheildingepicness Thank you
Every airline I know of will say no to this.
Stupid Hawaii regulations. There is a 0.00004% chance of a dog having rabies in the United States.
The island is rabies free entirely, so why take any chances?
