Emma that picture is absolutely amazing how you are bringing it to life. I'm so grateful to you for showing this and I actually do have the castle arts pencils so I can't wait to get this book now and have a try at this page. Am amazed how beautiful it looks already and can't wait to see next part. So appreciate you doing this video, thank you so much 💖
Your so welcome hun... I am so glad to be able to help you some.... Don't forget stick with it a little patience and they ll turn out beautiful... Hope you like the book.... You ll have to tag me in your pictures so I can see them
Thank you for sharing Emma. If you need to add extra layers, but the paper will not allow you to add more, you can spray the page with a workable fixative and allow to dry completely. This gives the page more tooth. 💖🇬🇧
I have been printing the pages from the only 2 books I have in Springhill vellum bristol cardstock, I have some smooth bristol paper and I’ve also printed the same pages on that paper and there’s a big difference on how the colors behave. I LOVE this page and how you colored the water!
Oh yes the paper the mediums the quality of the items you use always makes a difference especially when your learning...... Bet your pages turn out lovely.... You ll have to show me them when you are done I love seeing people's work
Emma, I know this upload was created months ago but I'm curious if you wound up doing a color marker piece from this book. A couple of reasons...1] I recently bought this book (rather cheaply off Amazon USA 4.99 dollars) and it's beautiful. There are my 1st foray into 'Grey shadow coloring', if that's what we're calling them. 2] Because I recently bought a few different sets of different marker sets, both wafer and alcohol, respectively. Lastly #3] I am just amazed and enthralled watching your tutorials and coloring insights...not to mention your soooothing voice. But yes, I'm just getting a grip on marker coloring, which I like more than colored pencil, (for the moment). However, it's a WHOLE LOT MORE THAN I THOUGHT. LET ME KNOW XO - JAMES
Hi James.... I have in fact done a video in pen from this book.... If you check my let's color playlist you will see it.... I had fun with it so hope it helps a little.... Its a lovely book and very affordable which is nice..... Grayscale is loads of fun you will start to relax and enjoy it..... Lots of colorists like to use alcohol markers so you will find plenty of help with it 😁... I use a lot of pencils but if you have any questions and I know the answer your always welcome to ask
@@emmacolours2020 You're a gem. Awesome. In fact, I have the marker video you uploaded from the same book, the pic of the tree library and toadstools, ivy, etc. I can't wait to see what you get up to. Oh, and TYSM for saying, "if I have any questions", that is so nice and I really appreciate that! You're a keeper! I'm keeping you around Emma! HA. Looking forward to seeing more tutorials, tips, tricks, etc - which you've pumped out over here on your channel. The artists, colorists - ameture or otherwise, seem too nice, I'm getting skeptical! HA xo James
Hehe no we're just a pretty laid back community to be honest... You will find plenty of help here... Hope you enjoy the marker video... And thank you very much for joining my channel
It is fascinating watching you do this! I'd love to see you do this type of dark grayscale with markers too though. It's a beautiful picture and a well-done video.
What a great video! It’s straightforward and you do end up with something very pleasing to the eye! I do watch some professional artists, to be honest I find them boring and mostly frustrating. Some of them even add “tutorial” on the video title and it’s only speed coloring and the name of the colors in little cards. How is that a tutorial? Maybe gifted artists do find it didactic?
I always found those a bit tricky as well and not my style to follow.... So I just thought it might be more helpful to let you know what I would do to get my results in the way I would want to watch one to give that kind of easier option out there.... I hope you found it more enjoyable and a helpful... I love doing them and am working on learning editing so I can do them more often 😁
I bought this book off Amazon U.K. and the pages don’t have borders, I’m sure it’s a fake copy. How can I get hold of a book with the black borders? The print quality looks so much better in your copy.
Plz plz plz.. can you show how to color the large backgrounds? Enjoy watching you color. When I say background, I mean like sky sceneries especially.
Hi hun..... I will add it to my list

Hi hun...its because mine is an old copy he started doing them without the borders which I am not a great fan of either
I enjoyed watching you colour in this book. It's not my kind of book but I still really liked watching 💜
Thank you hun.... Glad you liked it anyway.... If there's anything you would prefer to see let me know
