Can't even imagine the time spent working out what modules to buy but it sounds as though you made a good choice,I hope your loving your rack as I'm enjoying listening to you use it ,Good stuff Dean
Dean, im just starting my euro rack journey, hoping you'll do some videos showing the basics as you learn them, you insta pic was super helpful the other day! Thanks for the great vids!
Boom! Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! Loads of Eurorack videos incoming! 🤗😁👊 (In fact, i'm trying to work up the nerve to go live tomorrow and do some live patching in real time! 😲)
As always much love to you Dean. Super stoked you’re getting into eurorack tho it’s dangerous for a broke punk like me but you always bring such good jams man. Always grateful. Much respect 🙏💗🕊
Sounds great. I'd like to see a deeper dive. They do have a video that goes into some detail, but a third party review can be helpful. I'd also love to see/hear a comparison with other reverb modules, like the Herb Verb.
Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊 Unfortunately, I don't have any other reverb modules to compare it to at this time. I'm only just starting with Eurorack, and it's the first dedicated reverb module that I've used so far. What i'm liking most about it, is how it *doesn't* sound like a "traditional reverb" - it has a really unique sonic character imo, and really feels *alive*. 💙
That eurorack setup is a serious investment. That kick drum at 8:08 reminds me of how a hardcore techno DJ from Paris Manu Le Malin would start his set. I hope you explore all the possibility with Mutable Instruments Plaits.
Thanks for watching! 🤗😁👊 Yes, it was the biggest gear investment i've made to date 😵 and took years of procrastinating before I finally committed this year to get started before I get any older. I've not had much time with Plaits yet, but it has a chord mode that sounds amazing good and I'd like to try and make some evolving Dub Techno chords with it ASAP! (Never enough hours in the day! 🤣)
Hahaha - Yes. 🤗😁👊 I think my Eurorack sonic desires are way more grandiose that I was originally expecting... 🤣 The first ***MAJOR*** miscalculation was how many MIXERS I was going to need to actually route all this audio around the case the way I want to. *FIVE* additional mixers and a second case started later.... (OH MY!!!) 🤓🤓 Massive geek overload here, as the more I learn how to use it all, the more I'm in love with it all! 💙
Hey Dean, I followed you on another account of mine for a while when I was just getting into making iPad music, then I moved to modular... I didn’t realize you were also doing modular / eurorack! I’m excited to keep up with your latest stuff 😁
Hey Hey! Thanks very much! 😁🙏👊 Eurorack is like the deepest rabbit hole ever, and I'm *really* enjoying the journey so far! I'm hoping also to keep experimenting with more integration of the iPad and other Hardware, etc - This rig i've built is an Octopus! 🤣
Electronisounds Audio yeah! I didn’t know you could send midi from beatmaker 3, I’m going to have to try that on my system... do you just connect it via usb/ camera kit?
@@slowscape You can definitely do some creative midi routing with BM3 and use it to control all sort of things! 😀 👊 ua-cam.com/play/PLK5Ai5ysFp2t8ial-x5lQ9DN7zbAK9GY6.html
Hey Dean awesome sounds as always! Very generous demo with lots of different variations on the Desmodus. As a huge fan of your iPad music (and a recent modular convert) I’m wondering how you’d characterize the difference between a digital reverb module like Desmodus Versio, vs using software reverbs like Eventide Black Hole? I’m guessing cv access would be a big feature.
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊 I think reverbs pretty much all have somewhat of a unique sound and character to them. The Desmodus is just *unique and different* not necessarily better or worse. I like both, but obviously, when in Eurorack - you need a Eurorack reverb... lol For SURE, the CV inputs on the Desmodus are really interesting, and i'm just starting to scratch the surface of using them to modulate things. AMAZING! 💙
Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊 I got my logo tweaked a bit by a graphic designer, and *hopefully* I might be able to find a decent quality shirt printer before the year is out! Fingers crossed! 👍👍
Have a Desmodus inbound, great sound explorations Dean!
You're going to love it!! OH YEAH!! Congratulations on that sweet, sweet verb!! 🤗😁👊
GREAT video, thanks!
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Interested to know how this compares to the Erbe-Verb, which I find very cool but not so useful as a normal reverb
Sorry, I don't have a lot of reverb modules, so I can't compare it, just showing what this one sounds like. 😀 👊
Looks like so much fun, and creating some really cool sounds here. Loving that reverb!
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching, Scott! 😁🙏👊
This one is really blowing my mind - even more amazing that I was expecting it to be! 💙

Hey Hey, Russ! Thanks for watching! 🤗😁👊
So much *time* to figure this stuff out! I'm feeling really lucky to have made it this far in the journey! 💙

Hey Hey! Thanks for the encouragement, Riley! Much appreciated! 😀 👊
A good alternative if you are on a budget is AE Modular. It’s what I use and I really enjoy it 😁
@@slowscape Sweet!! 😀 👊

Wait a minute. Are you building a second rack there? Lol. I knew you wouldn’t be able to stop at just one. Love it! 😃👍

Hey Hey, Jim! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊
(This thing is about 1,000x cooler than I was even expecting! Just - WOW!💙)
Not so much a Japanese scale as a moody Parisian melody. Great reverb- and two shirts! Want one of those shirts more than I want more hardware...
Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊

Ooo
It's soooo sweet! I think it really has it's own, unique sonic character...
Thanks for stopping by! (Love your content!) 🤗😁👊
