I uploaded the song again. This time I tuned the B string up to a C and the E down to a G! Also I put a capo on the first fret, because that sounds a lot more like the original version! ;) I sang a lot yesterday so, sorry for the out of tune notes I'm singing and the mistakes!

I'm planning on playing this at an open mic, and your chords are nailing how Chris Martin played it. One minor miscue on the final progression (needs the Am as fourth chord each time) but otherwise perfect.

starting from the A string - 13- 13-11. you can add a bit of 13 on the B string too, it sounds like its missing to me:)

These are all the chords I've used. I figured them out myself, but I think they're right! You might be able to find out how to play the song by looking at my video! Hope that helps! =)

I think you mean the tuning to be the B up to a C and the little e down to a C....!!!! thanks...I did a cover of this...but I felt I tuned five strings and didn't use a capo...I like your version better...I'll be sure to use a capo 1 or just sing at a lower key!

Thanks for the reply. I agree that I thought it was played 10,12,12,10,0,0.... but when I play that chord it does not sound like the video. Too bad, I love the special tuning of the 1st and 2nd string... it makes it sound awesome.

What's the tunning/perset for ApTunner?
The main recognisable chord is the iconic Dm which is held as 10,12,12,10,0,0 in EADGCC and 9,11,11,9,0,0 in EADGBF#. In fact the C shape which is 5,7,7,6,0,0 in EADGBF# or in standard is also basically the same starting chord in Yellow but is held as 5,7,5,6,0,0 in EABGBF#. The main idea is to slide similar chord shapes along while leaving the highest 2 strings open. You can try this out in EADGBE,EADGBF#,EADGCC, EABGBF#. I've tried these out,they sound exactly like the original reccordings.
It's good to see and hear yourself singing as you notice what to change ... I "improved" most of my cover songs here on UA-cam, but it's not worth uploading them over and over again after I find mistakes, you know. I'm not the best singer either! ;) I'm from Germany btw. ;)

No it's not! ;) I played it with G in this video and I think it's correct, but as you wondered if it's possible to tune the E down that much, I just came up with the second possibility, playing it with the C. All right? ;)
