How to edit a map in powerpoint

- In this video I show you how to edit a vector graphic/ svg file in powerpoint using the convert to shape feature. This is a new feature in powerpoint that lets you edit pictures. In this example I take 2 maps online and change them so they look different and convey a completely different message to the original maps. These maps wouldn't work very well for showing a lot of detailed information but they would be great for infographics, presentations, posters, etc.

hi Karina, can u cut separate vector blocks individually say state wise and stitch them together, say you want to present only two states and blank out others
Could you merge the shapes together?
Hold Ctrl to select multiple shapes then go to shape format, select merge shapes and then union.
Excellent, really helpful thank you
I’m is there a way to do it in any other way instead of getting powerpoint
Hi Karina, thank you for your very useful video.
How do you get the graphics tools?
WOW 👍 Great
Hello Karina. That's very useful thank you.
Which ppt version are you using?
I use Office 2016 and can't open the svg file!
I have Office 365 and am on the Office Insider program which means I get new updates as soon as they are available. I can't remember what version I was on when I made this video but I currently have version 1812.
@@karinaadcock I will check my version and try again. Thank you :)
Even I can't add the image..it says image can't open here
Go to the cloudconvert.com and then convert the "svg" file to "emf". Then upload it to powerpoint.
