I'm a genre hopper. I listen to Christian/Gospel. Alternative Rock. Cladsic Rock. A little metal. Some mumble rap. Alot of real country. Alot of meaningful and lyrical rap. Some new rock. I can honestly say Riley Green is a storyteller. He's a true writer. From a music enthusiast and lyracist he gets my 100% stamp of approval. This song het me hard. Makes me think of my grandma. Life's hard but we can find escape in songs like this.
As far as songwriting goes, Riley is very mediocre. More than half his songs are list songs with cliche country lyrics. Of course, he has a couple really good songs like this that are done really well. He needs more story songs.

Cherish your grandparents for sure but also your parents. You never think they will leave this world so soon. My dad and I used to watch Nascar when me and my siblings were kids. He loved Jeff Gordon the most. But he passed away 3 years ago at the young age of 50 from a heart attack and heart failure. I got the call on a Friday and he was in a coma all weekend and we had to take him off from life support on that Monday. I miss him so damn much.
