+Sylvester Ashcroft you have Sonic Blastman on arcade that is something like that, you have 3 punch to obliterate your target (goin from a punk to a fuckin asteroid) and havea minimum punch score to do to go on the next stage.
I agree. I love Norhiko Togashi's soundtrack to this game. That's practically the only thing I like about it. I guess that is why I get some other bad games on the SNES like Doomsday Warrior and Power Moves. Even though those games are also bad and mediocre, I like the soundtracks to them.
@@NintendoComplete seems easy & expert ending is similar with the flying away, h/e the normal ending is more unique with the pictures. I wonder why they choose the endings for normal and expert the way they did. it was a simple game so maybe they had limited choices, wondered what was the logic behind it.
I kinda like that the time limit in the fights is three minutes its fitting because as all us ultraman fan know ultraman can only maintain his giant form for three minutes
I asked for this game for Christmas of ‘91 specifically because of a screenshot in a magazine of the mode 7 intro. I’d never even heard of Ultraman before. The game was Ok and I will admit to still playing it to this day, only now I have to stop every 5 minutes to weep because I am 30 years older than I was when I got it. I’m as far away from 1991 as 1991 was from the 1960 election. And now, we all get to do WW3. What a world!
I don't know why my brother played this game when I was a baby. And now I remember what two giants are fighting like this. I would say the Final Stage music was a bit intense.
Idk man I’m a big retro gamer and maybe it’s just because I love Ultraman and Kaiju in general but I love this game and still play it here and there and keep the box on display with my figures and things. What would’ve made this game a million times better would be 2 player. If it was set up like an actual fighter where you could pick any of the kaiju and go head to head, that would’ve been phenomenal. Being Ultraman’s rise in popularity I’m surprised no one is working on a new game. Something like that would be rad! Or in the vein of Godzilla Monster Melee where you could really use the map and have a multiplayer. That would be excellent!
ultraman for the snes, now it's a serious game. many people were complaining bout the controls, they did not even played the arcade version of this game, published 4 years prior to the snes game, the arcade controls were even more stiff than the snes. i hardly go to the last monster on the normal setting....doing it at expert is truly a feat dude.
Wow. I'm not the only one who thinks so too. I made a post on Deviantart about the similarities and made possible story scenarios. Like what if ALF was a guest star helping out the heroes.
I used to own this game as a kid, one of the 4 or so I actually owned instead of rented. My uncle got it for me. He was a big monster movie fan, but I had no idea who or what Ultraman was. I also used to think he was shouting "YUCK!" at the monsters because they were big gross monsters.
Once an arcade game, ported to the SFC and Mega Drive, yet when the SFC version was brought to the US, a number of changes took place, status bars were changed, Ultraman no longer said suwatchi, Ultraman's voice was deepened, and the ending changed. Either Banpresto went through a lot to change the game, or this is an entirely different game made for US audiences.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of variety in Ultraman's attacks. Either that, or most of his moves aren't worth using, so it's best to stick to the few that *work*. Glad I never shelled out any money for this title. Good video though. Informative! :)
Thanks :) yeah there's not much variety at all. I used all of his moves except for the specials that drain the bar at the bottom. Since that bar has to be full to do the Lv4 move, if you drain their life and don't have it charged, you can't end the match. So, the shortest way to fight them is to not use those moves, they just artificially extend the match length :p it's a turd for sure
Feel like this game could have been better with multiplayer so long as it either removed the finish mechanic or gave it to Ultraman too so everyone's on the same footing.
Possibly the first bad snes game ever released. Truly a trailblazer of an era To this day i have no fucking idea what they were thinking with the noises ultraman makes
Didn't know Expert difficulty gives you a different ending sequence. I like it better, but it still ain't worth paying all the way through just to see something different.
Does anybody realise this at the stage we battle with majaba the soundtrack is legit almost the same as ultraman am i tye only one notice this soundtrack
The soundtrack is the best thing about this game.It also looked good in the screenshots used to hype it back in the day. If only we knew.
+NintendoComplete This makes me wish they'd make a one punch man game, with a charge meter so you can do your ONE PUNNNNNNNNNCH attack! :D
+Sylvester Ashcroft For real, a 100m punch would be sweet

Man, the intro and music being back so many memories. Thanks for playing this!

When i was 10, my buddy had a super nintendo with 2 games. Ultraman and Pit Fighter. After playing pit fighter, this game seemed like a masterpiece.
This game used to scare me as a kid lol I think I was like five years old when i rented it
Omg I thought it was just me it terrified me I would rent it and never play it again I used to spam jump just to run away
@@rockys0221did you find gudis very disturbing too?
I remember renting this from blockbuster. The good ole days.
This game was so hard and kinda creepy as a kid. I remember I could never beat it so had to watch it lol
You weren't kidding when you said this game was tough--some of those stages had you really cutting it close.
Indeed
They also made the original Ultraman and Ultra 7 like this for the Super NES in Japan only.
I don't know why my brother played this game when I was a baby. And now I remember what two giants are fighting like this.

Playin this game when I was like 8 really nostalgic
Degola looks like Alf's long lost cousin.
Lmao. Maybe a mating between he and Cousin It :)

Joga Ultraseven do SNES também, obrigado.
that zebonkon battle was epic lol
This game is an example of when you blow your entire budget on audio engineers instead of game designers
That is totally Android Kikaider.
:Oh nope, Ultraman is real I guess.

Awesome.
Lol
I think we used to utilize Ultraman's forward roll to close the distance and then throw all the monsters.
This guy never did that from what I saw.

Good times back in the 90s
This game looks fun it reminds me of the final two levels of the Power Rangers game for the SNES.
It was so bad that you HAD to remember it.
0:35 Gudis

This game is still imprinted in my mind!

In my opinion he sounds cool
Also there's another ultraman game on snes before this one and they say its even worse
How do you finish kill the monster? I remember never beating the first stage bc I didn't know how to do the finish kill.
You have to charge the special gauge up to max, then hit him with the L4 move when it says Finish on his life bar.
I literally never got past the first stage as a kid because I couldn't figure that out haha
You have to use the L (or maybe R) button to change the projectile to the “Burn Plasma”
コダラーは怪獣の中では最強クラス
how do you "finish him" ? maybe our emulator is bugged but it just goes to finish and you can hit him a few times then he starts to regain health
I could never get past Barrangas on Stage 4
Btw I like how some of the monsters explode in a unique way
Unaliving foes on stick shift
Not me not knowing that i needed to use the 4th attack to finish enemies....
I cant finish that, so hard, btw, I'm on a retro bit.
How to go to the settings menu
I think it's Start and Select at the same time

Ah yes, a marsupial kaiju
Why does ultraman crop dust on his way out lol
Are you talking about the explosions
@@Latoshajsinspiration yes lol
