POV: The year is 1996 and it's the middle of September. The air is warm, but not too warm to be uncomfortable. You're dozing off in the warm sunlight pouring through the windows during History of Magic class. All you hear are the soft chirps of birds, Ron's quiet snoring (as he had fallen asleep, of course), and the sound of Hermione's quill furiously scratching her paper.
You are taken out of your trance by a light tap on your shoulder. You look to your left to see Harry nodding his head towards the door. Everyone is leaving class so you grab your bag and whack the back of Ron's head to wake him up.
Harry laughs and Hermione rolls her eyes as Ron rubs his eyes and collects his things.
And despite the sudden rise of Voldemort... you are content.

I just use it during my online muggle classes. But I suppose you could use it for studying, like you and let's say, Hermione, are studying for your Transfiguration test on Tuesday. Lower the volume a bit and there you go!

I hate waking up before I'm ready to wake up but same.... I wouldnt hesitate before getting dressed in my house robes and watching the sun rise while reading about potions and transfiguration (and also not hesitating to go to the great hall where all the food is before everybody else, stuffing my face full of pumpkin pastries in peace)

It feels like its part of our life, even though none of it happened in real life, something similar to the feeling we get when we first thought santa was real, the feeling we get in new years and christmas, something like a feeling that we knew that it was there all along, like a childhood memory. Roleplays, movies, books, games, communities, stories and more made us think that we truly were in the wizarding world, as if we actually made memories there. And I'm extremely grateful to have and share that one feeling with all the potterheads.

Yeahhh imagine if someone build an actual school like hogwarts and we're wearing robes as our uniform. The library is full of old artifacts and lots of books. An actual greenhouse with exotic plants. The hills, the rivers and the forbidden forest. A school game just like quidditch. Professors like snape, McGonagall, mad-eye, lupus etc. and a head master like Dumbledore. Just perfect

I was writing an essay while listening to this and suddenly I zoned out and felt sleepy. I close my eyes for about 5 seconds but then I kind of seeing scenes of Hogwarts like in Harry Potter... I was so surprised and then I opened my eyes immediately. I realized that actually just happening in my head but- DID MY SOUL TRIED TO SHIFT REALITIES!? I must be gone mad...

Hey guys um i think i just made something up in my mind while i was rewatching the harry potter movies alot of us say that hogwarts is REAL (obv). but what if prof McGonagall or any Professor did the protection spell ( btw remember when hermione made that spell on deathly hallows remember that the snatchers don't see them right only smell) maybe they did that that's why we can't see hogwarts. you guys cathing up maybe hogwarts is real they just did the spell because of voldermont. i really wanted to say this to someone so yeah. I haven’t been really *into* harry potter for a while now. I was obsessed with it when I was in 5th grade and I’ve loved it ever since. But for a while it was just sitting on the back burner. It was still there, just wasn’t front and center. I decided today that I would give this a listen while I did homework and now I am crying at my desk being reminded of how much I loved these books. No matter how hard I try, Harry Potter will always be apart of who I am. It helped shape me into the person I am today and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful.
Same here! Harry Potter, along with other books, was something that my elementary school friends and I bonded over. We would spend hours talking and watching and pretending. Eventually we hit middle school and still stayed close, but the vibe was different. The end of middle school came, and as most friend groups do at some point, we broke off and it was kinda hard to come back to something that I had associated with those happy memories. Within the last year, I’ve opened back up to the fandom, and it’s just as amazing now as it was back then, if not even more. I’m genuinely getting sad writing this while the music plays in the back haha but Im glad to see someone else who came back and fell back in love 😌

I feel like both Harry Potter and Percy Jackson shaped me. I read them throughout 4th and 5th grade, and I hold both near to my heart....I'm very grateful for both

As a 38 year old man and a devoted potterhead for many years, I'm so glad I found this and a couple others to play in the background of my life. To many of us, Harry Potter was an escape from bad situations, something that we could relate to. I remember when the men who played Hagrid and also Dumbledore passed away, both me and my teenage kids felt like we had lost family members. Call us nerds, or childish, whatever you want but Harry Potter books and movies are staples in this family and homes as it is for thousands of other families.

Happy Back to Hogwarts Day
I literally dreamt about Harry Potter last night! I rode the Express, and went to Hogwarts, where I wanted to be sorted into Ravenclaw, and I was! My Slytherin friend was sorted into Slytherin too :) And I befriended Ron and Hermione in the hallways - but in my dream, Ron was in Gryffindor and Hermione was in Slytherin. It was great! I followed my friends around Hogwarts, doing tasks and solving mysteries :)
Ive had a dream like that before!!! I did ride the Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts, and I got sorted and all that. I remember being super nervous about the end of the year exams lol. It was pretty fun, except when I basically took the role of Harry in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. (Also, the basilisk was made out of legos. That part was *very* strange.)
Dear Diary,
So today was another interesting day of classes. Today I had my defense against the Dark Arts class and we learned how to deal with boggarts, who take the form of your greatest fear, but the lesson was sort of fun. Still every single year I've been here we always have a new professor for this subject. Last year our previous professor resigned to take up an Auror position, the one before that was ineffective at teaching that he got sacked, and so on. So this is my fifth Defense against the Dark Arts professor, and if history is any indication it may be a new person next year. However I'd like to be prepared in case You Know Who should ever return. I also had Potions and that went extremely well, and personally and this is just my opinion but I think Professor Snape was impressed by my efforts today although he doesn't show it. Well it's been a long day of classes, and tomorrow I have my favrotie class, Herbology, I find that working with the plants gives me some peace of mind and I find it satisfying, and I've read several books on the subject since I've started at Hogwarts. I'm hoping to ace my OWL exams in both Potions and Herbology. Anyway I'm now heading back to the Ravenclaw common room and I'm going to get some shut eye. Must be ready for another day of studying.

you have. Meeting people doesn't always include shaking hands. You probably know the characters of harry potter better than you know some of your relatives, if you anything like me that is. If these books had an affect on you and changed you as a person, that means the chatacters are real because you, someone who had an experience with them, is real, and there behaviors affected you. In other words you make the characters or worlds you read about real because you love them.

This is lovely. Makes me feel all wistful and nostalgic for a fictional childhood I never had. Sitting in an empty, forgotten classroom on a spring day, the birds singing outside, practicing spells and doing Charms homework. Then me and my pals go out into the sunshine to race around the castle on our broomsticks. Ah, the memories.

Nah, for me it just feels comforting. I have a safe spot in my head that I invented. When school gets frustrating, my brother gets annoying, or I need cheering up, I retreat there. Hogwarts is there, with all the students and teachers ofc! There aren't any problems, and everything is wonderful. Other characters from other stories are there too and we go on adventures and hang out together and such. Its delightful.

You would love HEX (Hogwarts Extreme)! You can take classes that get graded, you have to go to Diagon Alley to buy all the stuff for the classes, you can play Quidditch, you can make money, you get sorted into a house (by real people!), you are in a dorm and have roommates, you can make friends, there are monthly events and events that only apply for a certain house. There are also monthly issues of the Daily Prophet, the Quibbler, PRISM and the wizarding radio! IT's just like living in Hogwarts and the wizarding world, but in homeschooling :D Oh yeah, and you have the O.W.L. exams you have to do in 5th grade and the N.E.W.T.s for 7th grade. You have to get a certain amount of points for your homework to be able to get into the next year (a schoolyear starts in september and ends in june).
Also, the website has existed since 2001, but unfortunately not many ppl know about it :(
If you decide to sign up: don't get scared away because it takes a long time to get verified (up to 24h) and to get sorted (also up to 24h). Once you have everything set up, it's really worth it! It's magical!

I would just focus on becoming a Magizoologist (while secretly spend my freetime learning to be an animgus). After thirteen years (Three years in the minstry and ten years as a free wizards), I would wait paitently for the opening role of being in Care of Magical Creatures professor and spend my time teaching students in the forrest (Not the forbidden one) until I am ready to retired.
Either that or I would become a powerful dark wizard who hates the Minstry of Magic and Muggles for their treatment on magical creatures. I would often use my knoweldge of Magizoology and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Question is how do I become a powerful dark wizard without dying so easily and not copying Voldemort actions of spilting his soul into eight pieces.

This makes me miss the magic of my childhood, spending every moment reading, playing outside with friends, and anxiously hoping I'd get a letter to Hogwarts for my 11th birthday. Harry Potter was my childhood ever since 2000 when my mom brought home a Harry Potter book to read for herself but I ended up taking it lol. Then I spent my time daydreaming of being a wizard, playing quidditch in the yard with my younger brother, creating fanfiction, and participating and even creating my own online HP forums. Magical times. Wish I could have that magic back instead of the worry and stress of life today.

But, that doesn't mean she's not talented, even though I am massively disappointed in her. I can still appreciate the work she's done the art she's created. I'm not defending her stances. This is so relaxing. HP has always been a place and world I can disappear into and forget about life for a while.
If schools were like this, everyone would study and make an effort.
I mean to be fair they were. Hogwarts is very clearly modeled after the first universities created. Many children growing up in the medieval area that were mobility were taught in castles and often played chess to learn about the feudal caste system. So in essence, Harry potter besides the magic used to be a very real thing.

I didn't have the privilege of experiencing and reading the books when they first came out because I was already a senior in high school and was completely unaware of the publication. However as a consummate movie nerd Harry Potter came into my life a few years later via film :) When Deathly Hallows was due to come out on film I decided it was time to read the books. I blew through all 7 books in two months. I am now on my third read through of the series cause why not :) However, on this go I have decided to mingle the books with these amazing long format Hogwarts soundscapes to enrich the reading :) and it has been wonderful. Thank you for producing this.
