hello Graham thank you for this 8th podcast. with Ben Perrin. always interesting your interventions. I review your speech afterwards personally, I translate and I listen to at least 2 times because very often I rediscover yet another interpretation ???
Hey Graham, this was a very interesting topic with Ben. It sounds to me you have also learned a lot just by listening to your conversation with him. It is overwhelming for me. I would probably never spend that money because it won't be easily accessible. Thanks Ben. You sound like the guru in Bitcoin.
Hi Graham this is a very interesting topic though. Iwant to learn more about it. Good luck with Bitcoin & Happy New Year to you both stay well. 🙏 I hope season 14 of heartland will play at netflix soon, cant wait to see it. Greetings from Bali, Indonesia.🎉🎉🎉
Firstly, Happy New from Australia. Secondly, very interesting listening, though I admit I still find Bitcoin confusing. Will have to check it out more. Look forward to season 14 of Heartland. All the best
Graham your podcast episode 8 with Ben Perrin, did you put the option of subtitles in other languages? I'm very interested in the topic, i want to invest in cryptocurrencies, so i want to know more, what you guys said... thank you. Good luck!
Hey Graham, did you hear about the guy who can't remember his password for 321 million in bitcoin. He only has 2 chances left to recover a very complicated password. You were lucky you only lost $1000. Wishing you the best.
I just started listening to these podcasts, so I know I am late to the discussion, but I have a question. If there is a limited number of bitcoin, what happens to the ones that cannot be accessed when the owner forgets his password? I am imagining it sitting there following the ebb and flow of the market sort of like a stock or money in a bank, but what happens to it, ultimately?
Loose your password? The Bitcoin is gone forever! It will remain in the wallet until the private key is used to access it. It’s encrypted so there is no other way but that private key. There will only ever be 21 million bitcoin. Each bitcoin is divisible into 100,000,000 smaller portions called Satoshi’s.
The thing I don't understand is how does the normal person making 100,,000 a year buy bitcoin at the price it's at right now? If the price continues to increase no one will ever be able to buy in. And another question is , Is Ben being paid by a company he works for in the form of Fiat or Bitcoin? And if it's Fiat , how does he convert his money to Bitcoin? How does the bitcoin accumulate when he's spending it?
Bitcoin can be divided into smaller units called Satoshi’s. There are 100,000,000 Satoshi’s in 1 Bitcoin. So for $5 USD you can get around 14,000 Satoshi’s at the time of this message.
From my understanding Ben gets paid in both Fiat and Bitcoin. UA-cam pays its creators with Fiat. Other partnerships he has with companies that deal with Bitcoin will most likely pay him in Bitcoin. There are exchanges like www.bullbitcoin.com or www.coinbase.com that allow users to send fiat and exchange for the equivalent in Bitcoin. You’d have to ask Ben directly if he spends his Bitcoin. The Bull Bitcoin website allows users to pay their bills with Bitcoin. 👍🏼
The analogy of our traditional monetary system’s buying power being compared to the nutritive loss from the way produce is traditionally farmed is a very astute one. My question above all questions in this world of bitcoin is…. How would the use of bitcoin proceed in the event of an internet blackout, through any of the following…. censorship, cyberattacks, disasters, police or security services actions or errors. And just how aware are we that the “Gold Reserve Act of 1934 prohibited ownership of gold by the American people(with the exception of jewelry and collectors' coins.) from 1933-1974. And what is the likelihood that history could repeat itself? The concept of shrinkflation has been on my radar since the 1980’s…less product for more money, inferior manufacturing quality resulting in an intentional “built in obsolescence,” requiring us to replace appliances and cars much sooner than in the past, translating into major profits for big business and higher piles of waste in our landfills, inferior and health hazardous ingredients, downsizing of staff, wage freezes, cancellation of benefits… all under the guise of “saving the company from bankruptcy.” Meanwhile CEOs are walking away with mega salaries, benefits and stock options not to mention the tremendous net worth of many companies. A young woman we know complained bitterly to us one day about how she would much rather have had a course in how to handle money and budget than all the useless mathematics she struggled with in school. And that it’s certainly not a coincidence that this omission plus the bombardment of credit upon young adults is a conspiracy to keep people poor. What was it you said? Knowledge is power and knowledge applied is great wisdom. Great podcast💡
