Well it's different styles of music. I usually listen to industrial techno, or darker stuff in general. This set is just a completely different kind of style, different styles for different moods.
Also I wouldn't say that it's so much DJs going dark. It might seem so, but it's just because there are more DJs like that now, but it's still upbeat mostly.

there is a 'dark competition' going on... that's not necessarily a bad thing, there's still plenty of variety, and in music usually something good comes out of trends..
This was a surprise, what a wicked set. As an older guy who was ripping it up in London in the late 90s, this just took me back in time and had me dancing like a bell end ;)

Thanks for the memories! The Deee-Lite opening caught my attention. I'm a DJ from that era and it totally took me back, seriously good times! Dana Montana it tip my hat to you, beautify executed! Back then we had to do it with vinyl. :-) The vocal line at 26:44 is sooooo good. Crazy to see this music come full circle, circumstance of getting older I guess.
Plenty of DJs do it with vinyl today as well!

Deee Lite was the best back the late 80s. As a little 10 year old kid listening to them and later seeing them in the club when I was in high school. Great memories
