Thank you for the kind words. So you'll loose the MOT exempt status I am afraid, which IMO isn't too much of a bad thing as a yearly inspection on one of these is pretty simple.

I think I would just go for a standard 1.8 MX5 motor though - not looking for big power, just a few more BHP ans something that revs a bit better. Need to get my clonking axle sorted out first though.
74 was the cut off year for the chrome bumpers. The 74-1/2 has the rubber bumpers.
Also the US ones had dual carbs also until the rubber bumpers.
