LIKE IF U CRI EVERYTIEM! Seriously, nothing ever made me this emotional for years. The running part instantly remind of Lufia 2's ending but this time I totally knew that they will survive for sure yet the scene when they hold onto each other tightly while the tower falling apart still legitimately made me bawled my eyes out. It was just too wonderfully executed and the whole journey through 2 games already got me attracted to the characters, this scene probably will never failed to make me teared up whenever I see it again.
Being with the one you love even when everything's about to fall apart... I don't think there are words to describe the feeling. That bittersweet feeling. That ending scene was so well done. I actually had doubts about their survival when I watch the place collapsing. My breath was held and tears streamed down my cheeks.
A very satisfying conclusion to a wonderful game. After finishing this game, I felt like as though I went on such a profound journey. No other game has made me feel the same.
@@bayuasrinovianto8820 Eventhough there are many more Trails games, after playing them all (and liking them!) until Cold Steel 3 I felt like all of them couldn't quite deliver like the Sky duology. (Let's leave 3rd aside for that as it is more like fan service and connecting loose ends for the next arc, which is good!)
I actually cried when Cassius and the dragon showed up and I saw that they were saved. Just finished the game and going onto the 3rd now. Definitely one of my favourites. Great storyline, character development and beautiful music.
Just finished the Second Chapter and went straight to UA-cam to review this masterpiece of an ending...That is a perfect example that games don't need to have good graphics to give you shivers. That scene on top of the trembling tower is just...beautiful.
Wow, my heart sunk right through the floor when they fell at 1:46. Not knowing much about this series beyond these two games combined with the dark themes that ran through this story, I thought there was a 50/50 chance that was the end for them. I had to come and immediately watch it again what fantastic games the FC and SC were.
I played this game lightly at 1st, I though it was a boring b-serie game that I would never finish. I'll be damned! It was one of the best jrpg I ever played!!! It's a shame that so few knows about this serie.
Outside of Japan they're not so well known due to the lack of promoting and marketing overseas. Falcom isn't as good as SqE, Bandai Namco, or Capcom in these departments. They do, however, roll over them in terms of storytelling in game. Both SqE's FF series and Namco's Tales series are either hit or miss despite having so many titles, and Capcom no longer doing traditional JRPG and instead focus on MonHunt.
Just finished this game last night. Such a great ending. Games just aren't built to this caliber anymore. The world building and character development are truly next level. The emotions evoked with were strong for a reason. Can't wait to play the 3rd and move on to Trails of Cold Steel series.
Weird...when i finished it, all the characters waved towards me, towards the player, towards the camera, breaking the fourth wall, like saying goodbye and thank you for playing

I think the hardest part of this ending for me was the fact I knew from this point forward Joshua and Estelle start being relegated to side-characters. They're probably some of my favorite protagonists of all time.
I felt the same, i love them so much as MCs, i loved their journey together, so well written characters and their chemistry, that of course we wanted more of them as MCs, in fact, for me, they stole the show from the MCs of the crossbell arc of games later even with them being supporting characters.
The only thing that I think could have made this ending more powerful is if they found a way to rely on imagery, not words, and just embraced the silence of the matter for longer (kind of what happens in FF7, just after a certain Jenova fight). I could actually envision a truly perfect version of this ending that has absolutely no dialog until the credits, after the kiss; but it might be relying on more animation budget than these games tend to have.

What is this ending? Is the game just broken these days? It skips all the videos and just crashes for me.
It's a Windows 11 issue. There are fixes, but it doesn't work fully out of the box half the time.
