“I like loving stuff. I don’t really enjoy hating it.” That line got you an instant subscription from me. I’m excited to check out your content
Thank you!
I have tales from the old Margrave and I’m using it as a starting quest to the actual Midgard campaign Empire of ghouls. My players just finished fighting the hollow man for the first time and it was wild. Granted I did give him some extra minions to contest with my players cause three of them can transform into straight up monsters and one has a homebrew wand, and one’s a phoenix-born
Thanks for the interesting campaign suggestions. Great observation about how the pacts made by Warlocks in D&D usually get ignored or glossed over.
Love the video. Glad you have found a group of adventures written for your tastes. Eberron is my jam, not alot of good adventures for the setting.
Kobold press! Yes, awesome material from them.
A company that has 10 employees and 90 contracted people make some of the best content.
They sounds great :) thanks for sharing your likes, I love hearing what you like and usually buy something you recommend! :D
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Thank you so much for sharing these, I’m always on the lookout for new adventures, also, your co-star is adorable 😊
I know a bit of an old video, but another place you may want to look for 5th edition Non WotC written adventures is Goodman Games. They do have Dungeon Crawl Classics, based on DnD 1e/2e, but they do have 5th edition adventures. It'll be under "Fifth Fantasy" because a while back they couldn't use the words "DnD fifth edition" for whatever reason, but they're all one shots which you can actually string them together or use them by themselves or in other compaings. It may be a nice way to add more to your collection without needing to buy a full on year long compaign that supplements other adventures you own. Goodman Games is also working on the 2e version of the "Dark Tower series" (Sunken Temple of Set and The chosen brothers of set I think they're working on through Kickstarter) and converting them into 5e as well as their DCC system.
I have been sleeping on Kobold Press for too long. Hoping we also get to see some more Feywild inspired terrain and scatter projects.
Thank you for the recommendations! Looking for low level adventures for the fam. Will def check them out. Margreve looks great!
These look awesome dude. Thanks for the tip.
I run a lot of Kobold Press stuff. I have been dying to run Courts of the Shadow Fey. Also, I feel the group has to be perfect. I would start with some Zobeck City Streets mixed in with Tales from the Shadows to lead up to Courts of the Shadow Fey. Remember we want to build up tension in Zobeck before we ever get to CotSF to enforce the idea that they are about to take over the city. So my idea would be to have the characters have strong ties to either Zobeck or to the Shadow Realm. I just downloaded Wrath of the River King, thanks. It is FREE right now for download on the Kobold Press store. Also, I run all of this on Shard which if you do any online stuff they have about everything Kobold Press including Warlock issues and all of the Grimoires.
So I run in my home world of Tresina, so I transplant a lot of stuff into my own towns and stuff. My buddy Drew ran streets of Zoebeck and I could see some potential tie ins. But I still attest that wrath runs so smoothly into courts it HAD to be intentional. I do however agree that the characters need to have a vested interest in saving the city, so having them have personal ties there is a great idea
Also takes from the shadows wasnt put when I made that video. If I made it now I’d agree that that’s actually the way to go with leading into it.
This was super helpful for me. Thanks for a great video!
Just leaving a PSA
Wrath of the River is currently free to download from Kobold Rress
A Good adventure is a good adventure regardless who wrote it. Hell, I don't even limit myself to the d20 system. I'm a good enough game master that I can easily convert a savage worlds. dread, paladium, you name it game system adventure over to D&D. Having said that, I have found that most of my enjoyment as a DM revolves around single session 3-5 hour adventures, and Pathfinder 1st edition has got it down to an artform with their Pathfinder Society scenarios. I also love seeking out adventure tucked away in the old Dragon and Dungeon magazines.
Thanks for this!
I just wished that these would be better translated into other languages or publishers would try local pricing. For the non-English speaking countries/out of Europe players even PDFs of these can be converted into pricier items that imported big printed book from Wizards, limiting access for us 🥲
I wish I saw this ten months ago. I was looking for a fey themed prelude I could warm my players up with before starting Crown of the Oathbreaker by Elderbrain. I bought Wild Beyond the Witchlight, but became frustrated with it. I found Into the Fey, by DM's Lair, and started my players with that. So far we are having fun with it.
These look like great adventures! Thanks for sharing!
I placed Shadows of the Dusk Queen in an adventure tied to the Shadowfell and it worked well...There are still some things that I changed because the motivations (both for the players and antagonist) are a bit questionable, but encounters were fun...
Also glad to find out that all the the adventures you mentioned were on my radar !
I love seeing your dog, I have a black goldendoodle and feel the same way, no pictures though, she is afraid of strangers :/
That’s awesome! They really are a fantastic breed!
3:01 The plan.
100% Kobold Press content blows WOTC material out of the water.
Agreed!
WOTC is stuck in design concepts which are decades out of date.
Killer content. You have a new subscriber. Love the way you presented this adventure material. Could you do more?
I love Midgard and Kobold Press, and their whole ethos of giving little tidbits on their website blog is phenomenal. I'm a returning player after a decade hiatus and going to get back onto the saddle before I think about DMing. But really thinking of running a Southland's Campaign!
I'm about to embark on a fey-wild sort of adventure with my PCs, so I will definitely check these out. Thanks for the ideas.
Thank YOU for watching!
You awesome! Loved your intro!! That is the best way !! 👌 🤠
Have you done a supplement of some kjind for your 'Feywood'? Apologies for all the questions!
Dude, I hope for you to get 111 years old and find the perfect group for Courts of the Shadow Fey soon. But take it from some stranger, that exactly two years ago today almost went six foot under: It's a really bad feeling (among other things) when you lie in ICU and recall on what you missed out in life, because there's plenty of time for that later... it possibly isn't.
My response to OGL1.1 was to switch to 3rd party 5e.
Having played through the Wrath of the River King and some of the adventures from the Old Margrave, Garman is not wrong, these are really fun adventures. I will have to add as a caveat that my DM ALWAYS makes adjustments to the story.
Kobold press is by far my favorite.
SAME! Their stuff is SOO GOOD!!
Wow these sound very good!
Adventure written like a play is WAY too linear for me. But good recommendations regardless!
I can completely understand why people like 5th edition ots a good crunchy rule style. There are so many 5th edition comparable adventures and other materials.
I also listened to all the gloom and doom videos about the WotC drama. I honestly wasn't really bothered by all of it. I personally like a less rule heavy system which is why I've stitched to EZD6. I'm not saying it's better it's just what I personally enjoy more
Give Connor some ear rubbin's from me, pls.
He says thank you!
The idea of extra books(supplements) around an adventure that's what everyone complains to and that D&D/WotC does, no?
5E is my 7th ranked RPG!
How would you run these adventures together? Ie what order would run everything in a kind of 'grand campaign'?
ty
Good, and now I won't pay them for my fun
If you would be willing to part with that Courts of the Shadow Fey LE cover please let me know. Its the only one I am missing for my collections and would love to have it. Please drop me a message if you would. Thanks
