Kirby may not be quite to urban's level yet, but I do believe a fair comparison is that both are willing to sacrifice moral values for winning. Kirby could have stepped up and solved this problem a long time ago by putting his foot down and saying no more. However the moral decay of their athletes has continued and been heightened to new levels. It seems he and his staff are willing to overlook certain indicators of the athletes they are recruiting in order to get the highest level of talent. It is a delicate balancing act for sure. At this rate it won't be long until they recruit another Aaron Hernandez.

Kirby Smart has a great culture at Georgia and has brought so many people in to speak to these kids and is one of not the only coach to kick players off the team and suspend players . All these kids getting big money has contributed to this and it happens at almost all schools but you don’t hear about it like you do at Georgia

Willock and Lecroy died because Lecroy was drunk and driving. They weren’t killed simply because of speeding/racing. This Rara Thomas situation in completely different! However, due process should be allowed to take place before he’s dismissed from the team. The same girlfriend that had him arrested last year for similar charges, is involved with these new charges. The previous charges were dropped. Because those were dropped and the same person is involved, due process is necessary to sort this out. If he turns out to be guilty, by all means, kick him off the team! Until, let’s get all the facts before condemning him. A cruelty to children charge can be something as serious as physical harm to children, or it can be something not as serious like parents yelling at each other in front of the kids. We don’t know how serious these charges are yet. That’s why we need due process.

Meyer has said many times that Avery was the reason he wouldn't kick players off the team. I have to think that probably plays a tiny bit into Kirby's thought process. A large percentage of your NIL money goes into an account that you cannot touch. You'll get enough to live on and buy your school books and whatnot. But the rest goes into an account that you don't have access to. Once you complete a full year of eligibility without getting in trouble with the law, you get a portion of that money. And every year, you get a little more until youre eligibility is up and it is all paid out. Put it in an escro account. Then, if the kid does well and stays out of trouble, he gets it all. If he gets arrested, whoever put that money in that escro gets it back.
