Hey Chep. This is MDFPereira
I’m glad you liked my design ;)
Thanks for the mod…
This holder for my k1 was the first thing I printed, been running it every since. Just FYI, I re-did all the auto calibration with a spool on the side.
The side spool holder is a practical addition to the K1 Max. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us
your clear instructions make this modification look easy to do. Cant wait to try it myself.
The link to the video guide is super helpful for those of us who might be new to firmware upgrades. Appreciate the support!
Another great video Chep.
Anticipating more useful upgrades
Im always looking for ways to optimize my 3D printing workspace, and this looks like a perfect addition
Ive been struggling with spool placement on my K1 Max, so this video is a lifesaver.
Takes me back to the time you made a video about my Davinci side spool holder. Thanks again for that, it was years before anything else got more downloads than that thing.
Awesome! Thank you so much for this! Much needed!
This was my first print on the K1 Max - worked like a charm. thanks Chuck. Interesting that Creality now seem to include a model of a side-spool-holder on the internal storage. They must watch your channel. ;-). On the basis that I didn't have any M3.5 I used M3 for the bolts which seemed to work fine.
Thanks for this handy tutorial
always love Creality community~
Thank you very much for this idea!
I got so nervous when u spun the K1Max around at the end! I thought it was gonna fall off the table lol.
Great video Chuck! I like it... I don't know if this also applies for the K1, but I suggested that people should watch this video to add the side spool holder for their K1
Thanks CHEP.
I did 3 mod on the spool holder reverse boden setup
1. Mounted side spool holder higher (gets the spool out the way) and uses the mid top and top side frame screws rather than flimsy side plastic screw -
2. Filed/4.5mm Angle drilled out the back tube slot on a strong angle -taking off the sharp edges of the slot and smoothing the tube flow (recommend this as an easy must mod costs nothing and works great)
3. Changed to 4mm OD -3mm ID feed tube. The filament slides in freely now TPU slides in like ABS/PLA in the tube when feeding.
Pretty neat work, Chuck! Great idea indeed! 😃
I'm thinking about getting the K1, not the Max... But we shall see.
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
have made a side holder for the to glass so when you have to take it off you can safely store it and you als can connect the spool holder on it.
Im curious about the fantastic functions this new firmware brings. Cant wait to see the improvements it offers!
If you were my grandpa, I would be the happiest kid alive
Hey I like your video and your design wish I would have seen it before I printed the stock one. I just wanted to add that in the box from Creality I found longer screws to use, so anyone trying to do this Check your stuff you might have them!
You read my mind
can you do a video on some settings for your k1 max set up?
Creality included it in the sample models in the last firmware upgrade 2 days ago.
j'ai mis deux vis M3 X 16 et ça va bien :)
nice
fantastic remix now make one for the bambu x1c and p1s please
love the lazy susan 🤣
I wish you would show the Timelapse of the spool holder, the only other upgrade the spool holder could do with is a bearing otherwise looks great 👍🏼
Printed this on my out-of-the-box K1 Max. Filament spindle doesn't fit into the receptacle. Had to ream out the PTE hole. Printed at 'normal' setting. Any ideas? ......Ah, DH got the spindle to fit the receptacle. Tight fit, which, I guess it has to be. Now to find the brim/skirt setting......much prefer Cura. Printed with brim...
Does your k1 also have some ringing issues? Im printing pla at 240mm/s for outer walls (infill is 450 and inner walls are 270). Idk if its just my printer, bht i need to find out fast before my return period is up.
Ive tried orca slicer as well and calibrated my filament settings and still no dice. Orca slicer did have a step up on quality though compared to creality print.
My acceleration settings are pretty modest as well at 10k outer, 12k inner, 15k infill and tbe full 20k for travel.
Idk what jt could be at this point.
I Have the K1 max with a variety of different nozzle sizes using Creality print, I'm still looking for the right profiles and I'm not seeing a big difference in the default profiles between 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 speeds.
I couldn’t get a 12mm screw to reach in the back hole so had to use a 16mm. Hope it’s not in the way of anything.
ca dépasse un peu mais là ou elle est y'a pas de danger
Any vibration against the plex?
Any plans for making profiles for Prusa Slicer? Personally not a fan of Cura's clunky interface
I’m trying.
@@FilamentFriday That's great!! Thanks!
Would you review QIDI MAX3? I've been comparing the QIDI MAX3 to the Creality K1 MAX.
Great addon. Will this fit the regular K1?
No but there are many options now for K1.
Hey Chuck, can the content creators put out a notice about Octoprint's financial difficulties? ( refer to latest notification in Octo titled "We need to talk about funding") It would be a terrible thing for Gina to have to abandon the project. I'll be donating as much as I can afford on Monday. You are one of the most well-known/respected 3d printing creators, if you talk about it so will a lot of other people. SAVE OCTOPRINT!
Always good stuff. Did you give up on creating a nice profile for K1 and K1 Max for Cura?
Still working on it
You can just print over wifi to the printer directly
Have you talked about Naomi?
Hi Chuck. Could the side spool be used on the left side if I mirrored the print?
Not sure.
Hey chuck I have been using all your Awsome profiles on all my creality machines since I started printing 2-3years ago now and I live by your profiles but I have learned a lot from your information you provide for these machines, buuuut we need you 😂 do you have a plan on buying a Bambu X1 ? Would love to see you creat some better profiles for these machines please 🙏🏼 and thanks u again I have an x1 and some things from there stock profiles just seem off especially for there first layers
I have an X1. Not a big fan of their closed source firmware.
@@FilamentFriday will you release some profiles or tech tips for making it better ?
Any chance you are working on Cura profiles for the k1 max? 🤞
Working on it.
Thank you! this is exactly what i needed. Putting the holder in the back is such a weird design choice... Out of curiosity, is there any particular reason why you don't prefer WIFI printing?
Hey Chuck, hope you're well?
Other than the side spool holder is there anything else that needs to be done/modded/upgraded to this printer out of the box?
You don’t even need the side spool holder. It’s ready out of the box.
@@FilamentFriday how's the hot end on this printer and is it reliable? Have you had an issues at all yet?
It actually failed right after making this video. I had to replace it. Video coming soon.
@@FilamentFriday I have seen that the 3D Printing Nerd swapped his out for a Microswiss hotend that could be changed cold and with one hand apparently. Unsure of the cost implications though.
Neither of the K1 bracket links show any models in Thangs pages? It Said " We couldn't find the page you're looking for. Sorry! "
By the way Chuck, have you a step by step video help on setting up Elegoo 3 Max Klipper firmware controls on the Big Tree Tech PAD 7,
I can't work out how to find the right "Klipper.bin" file for the 3 Max? and how to install it on the pad 7 when the file is found.
Thanks.😀
I fixed the Thangs link. Thanks.
chep!
Why not a Top Spool Holder ? would save the width space.
Love it! Rear mount makes no sense on a printer that big......
Can it hold 1kg spools or the screws/side frame could break?
Has t shown any sign of that after many months.
I felt anxious when you are spinning k1 lol, as last time my machine broke for this reason......
Now the PTF tube will wear out in the bend to the inside. I have 8x K1 Max and had them all. Have drilled a slanted hole inside much better. Also the bend to the hotend last bend will also wear out
Dear friend good idea verry verry good I hate this original suport to filament
Thangs link is bad...
I just fixed it. Thanks.
soo the spool holder is already included on the k1 max when you buy it. the time laspe/camera is the only bad thing about this printer. it crashes and does not allow you to watch the camera live and then has bad frame rate at times, on top of that creality tries to make you have their subscription to use it all fully and its $100 a year. their software is fine but can not do helmets in a timely manner. they definitely rushed it and their software. Also if anyone has the camera viewing problem, you have to do a factory reset. Their support desk WILL NOT be of any help. They try to blame it on your internet, wifi or firmware and also they do not know k1 and k1 max have separate firmware. I just got mine a day ago and had to deal with all of this already. Other than that, yes its a fantastic printer.
It's your unit. I can see and use the camera just fine, use your warranty.
hanging any weight off of a tempered glass panel... I hope you like unenclosed printing
The sides are plastic!
You did butcher both of those names! 😄 I'd guess the first is Spanish and the second French, so both of them would be far from the assumed English pronunciation
your clear instructions make this modification look easy to do. Cant wait to try it myself.
The side spool holder is a practical addition to the K1 Max. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us
It’s inside where I connected the longer PTFE tubing.
Ive been struggling with spool placement on my K1 Max, so this video is a lifesaver.
