I have joined november batch 2023. trust me teaching quality is horrible and there is a big mismatch between whats taught and whats asked in assignments etc. So on an average one will need more hours then stated ro compensate for the horrible teaching. I am struggling really bad. atleast 60 percent of people have dropped the course and I am doubtful too. This has more to do with Indian standards of teaching. They ask you to mug up more and understand less. No explanations for many formulas etc. Unnecessary algos to increase the portion etc. also they have discontinued online exam after We enrolled. also there are 4 subjects per semester with job and useless teaching. so only join if you can give 5-6 hours per day and are willing to do your own research and study from diff books and sources cause faculty do not know how to teach

In my view both are good there are only few different subjects in both courses... Mtech in Data science will focus on Data pipeline, Data processing and ML Model building where as MTech in AI/ML will focus more on Model building part and less on data part which generally comes before Model building part.

When I mentioned about two batches, I mean to say that admission happens twice a year and once in April time frame and another in October-November time frame... you can check the BITS wilp website for exact dates.
Both are similar only few subjects are different...if you have more inclination towards data and data related activities then you can choose Data Science and if you have interest in model building, fine tuning and MLOPs then you can pick Mtech in AI/ML
Yes ..provided your bank have no objection and they can issue you a NOC for doing this course ...and offcourse you meet other required criteria for admission..

Also, can you suggest if going through masters degree in data science would be a good option if a candidate wants to transit his/ her career into data science from another stream like development/ QA/ support?
There are few workarounds to get a job in Data Science after degree - 1. Get a job through the network 2. Be Active on kaggle and have GIT profile to show case some data science/ml realted work in your cv. 3.
