Thanks for this. It would be good to have a segment on living alone and having a medical emergency... i.e. outside a larger emergency. It would give some peace of mind to many to have a well thought out plan (a modified go bag for going to emergency, for example) as it is terrible to be alone and need help. Having a plan could ease the natural feelings of despair about not having someone there to help. (I say this after 2 emergencies this year, and in one case, although I have emergency contacts, they were all unavailable. My ability to cope was complicated by the feeling of being alone).

I keep two folders on my kitchen table. One is for in case of emergency containing lists of medications and illnesses, power of attorney, contacts, DNR, etc. The second one is In case of death with my life insurance, person in charge of final wishes, burial information, etc. because I have no family.

you sound very prepared with your two folders. Also, have some canned foods and water for power outage. Also, if you like three bean salad there are cans of that not needed to be heated, and little cheese crackers also with peanut butter, etc. they are tastier than those so called power bars, Boost and some puddings are shelf stable.

being 70 years young myself my biggest fear is supply chain challenges, especially for my meds. The past few years have shown us what can happen, and probably have a good chance of only getting worse. I digress.

You might be interested in their "Jase Daily" program, which is currently available in the USA and will hopefully be in Canada soon. Here's a link if you're curious: jasemedical.com/?rstr=16950

Get off the unnecessary medications, keep away from doctors except for injuries, lose weight by giving up sugars and eat fat not oils, eat meat, protein etc . Or the simple one is DIE. Which is what it is about after all.

Many elders experience difficulties in processing what is being said when people talk fast. Such as in this video.

    • @TotalprepareCa

That is excellent feedback, thank you. Our presenter is a naturally fast speaker but I will let her know to slow it down. If it helps, you can click the little cog wheel (settings) in the bottom right of the video, and select "playback speed" to see options for UA-cam to slow the video down. It should work on any UA-cam video that features fast-talkers. :)

There are a lot of seniors and disabled individuals that I hope people will consider in their local community preparation plans for disasters and emergencies. Age creeps up on you slowly and then bam, you find you're one of those elderly you use to talk about. I'm working on this for my Local Community Group both with a CERT program and a Local Civil Defense Program. I do not expect there to be Emergency Professionals as the country continues it's down hill slide.

Quite a few senior citizens as well as handicapped people.. are not going to be able to prepare for anything.. I hate to say it but I see thousands of elderly people as well as handicapped people dead within the first few hours.. that is the Hardcore truth of it.. do I like it hell no unfortunately that is just how it is.. they have been playing with the electric around here where I'm at shutting it off and turning it back on.. it has been between 80° all the way up to 100° last Saturday it was 110°.. I am in Arkansas kind of makes me wonder when they're going to shut the electric off.. not just for a few hours but a few days in temperatures like that.. handicap and elderly people that are in nursing homes group homes are going to suffer the most.. do I think it is being done on purpose yes I do.. if you are capable of prepping being able to get out your first warning should be your last warning.. if you are in a big city get the hell out of the city.. if they announce anything on TV radio or Internet that's when you move.. I am already out in the countryside.. around here where I am at.. you will be met at the door with a loaded 44 ..and every other gun that these people have.. I mean these channels I stumbled on quite a few of these channels being prepared for senior citizens.. trying to be prepared for handicapped people.. if you are a walking Medicine Chest then sit down and let them take you.. because you are as good as dead anyways but without your medicine.. I get Social Security Disability myself just walking to the mailbox makes me scream and agony ..there's no way I'm going to survive it either.. we all know that the S H T F.. is going to happen we just don't know when..

Jace case is exorbitantly expensive. If there is a medicine shortage, they will not be in a position to provide meds any more than anyone else. At some point, we will all be faced with no meds.

Did not get very far. I'm 77 and 1/2. Totally healthy (mainly because I figured early on that most medications are the reason why people are not very healthy. Last time I got sick was in 1998. Then I quit my toxic job and miracle, all my health problems went away. Nothing cures you better than getting rid of a bunch of egomaniacs, with no problems passing off your work as their own. (Only to out themselves, thank to stupidity.) Never tell them the most crucial element. And then laugh a lot.

If elders or disables or poor, have knowledge that helps others, & can help others help them, THAT is a bargaining chip you MIGHT be able to barter with.
You’re gonna need to be able to use your words & mind, to affect any who might be against you-because, when your body cannot work for you anymore, your mind full of experience & accumulated knowledge, is your last hope.
If your mind is gone, you’re easily relegated to “acceptable losses”, & “planned attrition”.
