- Trapped in a cave, with water rising around him, Simon Haston had minutes to spare. Fortunately, our crew from St. Abbs were on their way, with years of training & experience to help them make the difference. Now we need you to make a difference. Donate today & help train our volunteer lifesavers: bit.ly/OXbWBq
Helmsman Darren Crowe was awarded the RNLI's Bronze Medal for Gallantry for this rescue.

Well done
Well done RNLI, you are heros!
Heroes
well done shadwell.....good job....
Brave guys saving lives. I know Alistair and he's a lovely guy. St Abbs is a lovely little port and the Head is National Trust, but the sea can be very dangerous around there. It's popular with divers and kayaking and still retains a few fishing boats. Now the Lifeboat is run and funded by the locals and donations, not the RNLI.
You complete legend!!! You're true hero! :D
Hi there. Very little actually because we make our films in-house (so we don't pay an agency to do the work). They're incredibly powerful fundraising tools though so I'm sure you'll agree well worth investing in.
Good on you Darren
And what might have happened if you hadn't had a Lifeboat there and one had to come from further down the coast?
As a fisherman myself this is scary if he wasn’t on his own he would of died
very surprising to hear "we come down fishing as we often do, my friend ******** roughly knows the area. he kayaks and been down here once before" so did they know the area or this was first visit by friend who said it would be OK.....etc etc.... ect
Not planning to Peter. Are going to close it.
