For me, the best looking electric bike so far. Think the designers must have been looking at back copies of Bike magazine, when they had the Bloodrunners cartoon running ( replaced Ogri for a few years in the ‘80s if irc) cool vid 👍🏻

I have to confess that I'm greener than a green thing after eating too many greens with envy at your trip. Many thanks for sharing your experience. integrating the moving parts into the rear wheel makes a lot of sense as you mention but that will also add mass to the back end. Like most things there will be a certain learning curve with new machines (like the rear brake taking the place of the clutch lever as you mention). I like what they have produced but do hope with an increased scale of volume that prices will adjust accordingly. Having MIka involved and on the video was the cherry on the cake. Many thanks again for sharing.

Thanks Anthony 🙏 yes I love how they have innovated on this bike. My thoughts too on the rotating mass but it felt ok in fact turned in better than other petrol bikes with same width rear tire. I’m going to need for a couple weeks testing to give more a review so stay tuned 👍

G'day mate. I rode the Harley Livewire a little ways back and the acceleration is incedible. Not my kinda thing, but I'm sure people will buy these "Leccy bikes". Internal combustion engines only in my garage!🤣. I wonder if you would have to sell a couple of organs to be able to afford one of these? I reckon I'll stay old school. It’s super easy from Nice to Monaco 🇲🇨 price wise £195 each way and 7 minutes including chauffeur to your hotel and back from the Monaco terminal. If taking a taxi it’s 35 mins and around £120 so was a no brainer really and did the trip twice last year.

Apart from the price; one thing puts me off electric bikes:- The fact they make no noise is a genuine safety issue. If other road users find it difficult to see bikes OR hear them, I'd need to ride very defensively.

@@MOTOUK1 I can see why the power is so immediate, when you consider the rear wheel IS the motor its self.
I remember the first time I drove a Tesla & it almost gave me whiplash when I floored it, because the axles ARE the motor. Zero delay in power delivery.

I was in Nice last week! I noticed the heli ride to Monaco was being sold at 195 Euro which I thought was decent. Went to Monaco and saw the Verge showroom walking from the train station (didnt get the heli).
Why the Hell didn't they put the back brake on a right hand foot pedal like all other bikes?? Using a left hand lever is like riding a moped!
And-why why why does the pillion get such a tiny seat? It's not a sports bike. I might want to take my Mrs. for a ride. why cant the seat be bigger like on the Kawasaki Z900RS?

not a lover of any electric vehicles, this bike would be a challenge on a proper long run, can't see were any decent luggage would go and will be quite a time before you could maybe attempt the NC 500, but maybe in the future when the infrastructure is in place, wouldn't fancy riding it in heavy rain on the motorway as it is so bare to the elements, interesting to see how it will fare during one of our winters when they bring it over, but please don't let MCN do the review as it will be driven round corners for hours, and if it should break down what would the AA/RAC be able to do ?

      @@MOTOUK1 No, it's not OK.
We don't need status symbol numbered eMC, we need real products at decent price.
Their Zero SF/S competitor starts at 10 000 € more* (which at least has DC charging), their Energica Ego RS competitor starts at double the price and it's limited at 200 km/h instead of 240 km/h, for basically the same performance and 5% less battery (which I guess it recovers thanks to the lack of transmission).
The motor is not even cooled, I wonder how it goes for sustained use.
And no bags, for what I see.

Apple to apples, you cannot compare the £10k bike to this. You could compare the Eva Ribelle and yes while the Verge is £7k more, you do get DC fast charging 55mins. Both bikes similar range. The Verge does not need cooling as the motor is in the rear wheel. So no gearbox, drive train or cooling making it more efficient. Hard to tell unless you do a comparison.
Real life testing is where it’s at I mean look at teapot one he took the energica rebelle rs round the U.K.

    • @IIARROWS

      @@MOTOUK1 10 k MORE.
The Zero costs 10 k LESS, 27 k€ vs 37 k€, the only think it lacks is DeCent charging, because Zero is still in 2012.
Energica and Likewire both charge in the same time as this. But they cost half, and Energica Eva/Ego have the same performance, Ego even more (trading 0,1 s for 0-100 to be honest). For half the price.
Cooling on Energica is there to keep sustained performance, as you know heat (induced by electric current) expands materials and increases electric impedance, reducing the performance from constant use (in fact Zero suffers from that) and causing issues with expansion.
