I remember the first time that I watched that film. It made me extremely anxious but I couldn’t stop watching and it only seemed to last 10 minutes like the whole thing distorted my reality
Looked all over the place in search of this particular song after watching Enter The Void. Thankfully wiki helped me find out. Now here I am listening n daydreaming.
And ANOTHER way thst Doctor Who and Delia Derbyshire are related! Here's another one, beside the main theme: There's this other song by Delia, called "Ziwzih Ziwzih OO-OO-OO-OO" (/watch?v=jetzY-W78gg), which she wrote for an ITV adaption of a story by Isaac Asimov as part of their own sci-fi series "Out of the Unknown", where some robots climbed onto a spaceship and began worshipping it and chanting its serial number; Those same robot costumes were used in the Doctor Who story "The Mind Robber"!
this should've been a score for a 2nd doctor era story, where they find themselves in what would usually be a cliffhanger scenario where they are in danger, but instead the doctor just lights up a cigar rather than deal with the problem, with jamie and zoe protesting in fear
Yes,but she was born as Walter,I believe, but always felt her true nature was female.Anyway, yes, she was indeed great,I would like to listen to her Sonic Seasons album again sometime after not hearing it for nigh on forty years,
Actually, that's a bootleg that included the play of the same name and included all the officially released material from different Radiophonic CD's released by the BBC, except the stereo mix of "Noah" from the Retrospective collection or the two Mark Ayres stereo remixes of the Dr Who Theme.
Do you mean Wendy Carlos? The lady who did the music for A Clockwork Orange? She originally used a man's name to be taken more seriously. If that's who you mean, then I believe this pre-dates Wendy's great stuff.
Blue Veils and Golden Sands...Yet ANOTHER way that Delia is related to Doctor Who! her piece that was named that way, as well as some other pieces she made including "The Delian Mode", all made up the incidential music for the 1970 Doctor Who story "Inferno".
Was this before Walter Carlos,I wonder? Also, could the theme from Doctor Who be the first ever rhythmic electronic loop track? If so she deserves high status, and if not she deserves moderate adoration.
ok how about just dubstep and the other genres that are supposed to make you want to headbang or whatever. im not referring to every electronic piece of music, just the obnoxious ones that have no depth to them. ignore my wording of "extremes". stockhausen is not obnoxious. i dont care for his stuff but it is not "filthy". what i meant when i said that is just any other music that is drowned out by loud, overpowering, obnoxious sounds.. dont need to be so defensive just because i insult dubstep

Why does this give me nostalgia? I've never heard the full thing.
Bach would have cried tears of joy after hearing this

ENTER THE VOID!!!! SUCH AN AWESOME TUNE.
Well, it's by Bach. And as Eddie Van Halen once said about him, "That mother wrote some hot shit."

god.. speaking to us through electronic music. thanks delia.. =/
This would be so beautiful if it wasn't for the fact that it reminds me of that horrifying scene in Enter the Void.
+Tom Wright WENA WEON / GOOD SHIT
I'm glad that I didn't watch this movie and knew this song through Delia Derbyshire's work itself.
you must be such an amazing douche
I think you're confusing Enter The Void with Irreversible.

This sounds so surreal.
she was absolutely genious.-
Superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“And if you die?”
“.. I’ll come back”
The plucked string sounds are notably similar to Goon Gumpas by Aphex Twin. I'm willing to bet it's directly inspired by this.
thanks Bach
I would like to believe that Bach would have appreciated this.
(Passacagelia & Fugue in C minor BWV582 is mind blowing)
This is quite good

That scene fucked me up so bad man
Andrea JFD I watched that and thought I fr was gonna die every time the car crash scene happened
Try this.. I opened youtube 6 windows with delias work on and let them run together... GREAT!!!
She would have been proud. And horrified.

Bach would have loved being able to experiment like this if he could have had the means to do so; and Mozart and....

This could be lengthened to an entire evening's duration - please!!
There is an Extended version (about ¼ hour) on here. It's a bit repetitive IMO though.

@auro1001 they sped up the sounds slightly for the different notes

She did this tune?
in this picture she looks like Stoya.
a bit like Bjork too. Both of them conjure up VERY different impressions in the mind. Although maybe Bjork takes it like a champ too

nope, Walter/Wendy was going since the late 60s, but I suppose its a matter of opinion whether his stuff pre-1971 was great. Personally, I think so.
@parsifalmilano Yepp.. but Bach didn't know how to sample magnetic tapes did he? :-P

@xbob1966 Google "youtube to mp3" and you will find out how to convert a youtube clip to mp3
But not the Doctor Who theme. If you do, he'll have nightmares. Just shows how varied is Delia's music.

Yes before Walter/Wendy Carlos; DD started doing tape loops in the late 50s, whereas Carlos was an early pioneer on the synthesizer in the early 60's.

no doubt, but i'm also positive they wouldn't take it to extremes like dubstep and that other filthy noise
This is so beautiful!
