Magnus Sjöquist I've been trying out the Tanglewood fretless version in the local music store. I love the sound but I want to try one of the Kala fretted versions before buying one.
@bobothecreepyclown Thanks! I really love playing Ubass! I do play other basses too but since I started playing Ubasses they have a special place in my heart :-)
Thanks! I'm working on a CD that will feature the ubass and different guest musicians…Check out the progress on my blog if you like. Link in the about section of this video!
The "bassy" part of the soundspectre is just so very very nice. I drove to Sweden from Fredrikstdad Norway to get it. Im Danish and we are not used to drive very far DK being to small U know ;-) Oh and BTW great playing man, also happy playing...
@bassMAGics The standard fretless version. Very nice tone, btw. Although i cant seem to dial in that upright tone you've got goin on. And thats pretty good playing for one show! Guess thats one of those "once in a lifetime" moments lol Ill keep up with your work as long as you keep up the good work! Ill be the first to buy the CD!!
@svenskfence3 Thanks! I enjoyed that jam :-) I actually got to play with these guys yesterday :-) There might be a video from that gig up here soon... :-)
Thanks so much for posting videos on U-Bass real gigs. I'm deciding between a fretless and fretted. I played electric bass for several years in my youth, but I've always been a standup jazz bass lover. I miss my 3/4 stand up. What would you recommend, a rusty old bass player, who is looking to play a lot of straight ahead & bossa covers, fretless or fretted?
Hej.
Mad respect for the other musicians on stage with your. That's exactly how you support a bass solo.
3:43 seeing them planning what's next to come via body language and eyes is fun.
There’s nothing quite like watching true artists go at it like that - every performance is a unique entity!
Man the change in "feel" at 2:57 is really great jammin true proffs.
It's funny seeing the bass player using the smallest instrument on stage.
Yeah, it sure is a bit strange but also cool that I don't must carry a doghouse around but can still get a warm "upright-like" sound:-)

Between your playing and the tone of that bass i'm inspired to buy one. Love the tone. What kind of amp were you plugged into?

anytime. Just bought a Kala Rumbler. Can't wait to play it!
fdiaz05 I'm happy for you! Make sweet Music with it!
bravissimo. i'm making a DIY uku bass (from an EKO 1/2 guitar) because the cost is too expensive plus i also have 3 bass guitars yet. i give a try.
Good luck

I'm wondering when you use your Fishman bass preamp for your Ubass, what's your preference or where do you set your bass and treble knobs?
Great playing! Anyway..What was that hanging behind your back on your guitar strap? Was that your pre amp?
@jacomacca Thank YOU!
@JSweetbassplayer Haha thanks! Wonder who is Tom and who is Jerry ;-)
Loving it!!
Thanks Peter!

@davemo65 Thanks!
Funny, I did not even notice the 4th guy sitting on the far right till he started the slow-clap.
:) Yeah, he played with Vinny and Frank except for on the two songs I played!
It has a lot fatter, deeper sound than a regular 34 inch scale steel string bass.
Kala...a thumb rest would be nice.....
There is a thumb rest system you can get from the Kala Ubass Accessories page!

Good luck!
Magnus Sjöquist ...cool...thanks
C Jam Blues in B flat? Eh? Just joking!
