Thanks for creating this tutorial VPN Video. However, I do not see an option in the 7062 Router where you can actually view the Status of the connected OpenVPN users? How can you view the users who are connected to the 7062 OpenVPN Router?
Hi Team - Great tutorial - Had a client who's Fortinet died yesterday - Replaced with a GWN7062 and this-morning I've completed setup of OpenVPN for someone to work from home. Only unanswered question for me is about Certificate expiry - Does this mean I need to reissue every 60 days. I can see where this is good for staff who leave and removal of VPN client is missed but they'll expire. Problematic for an external IT team to be doing but I'll read some more on it. Thanks again
I'll comment here - Following your instructions literally (As nothing indicated not to) it sets it all up with the Root CA and the Server and Client certificates expiring in 60 days. Of course its all stopped working today. I had to create all new certs (This time making expiry a more reasonable value than 60 days!) and its all working again with a new ovpn config with the new certificates and Keys. Now I have to get on one users two MAC computers to update the client (GROAN) Make sure you ignore the demonstration and set the expiry value to 365, 720 or 1095 or something longer than 60 days. There might be a way to renew the existing certificates but I couldn't find it so had to recreate them all and redo the OpenVPN client config file. I did wonder (As above) but I had faith that it would have been mentioned if there wasn't an easy way to renew things at expiry - It appears there isn't. Be warned.
Excellent tutorial - worked perfectly.
