Definitely not the aircraft’s fault. A perimeter fence should be able to stand a departing aircraft’s blast. There are other aircraft have pretty intense jet blast. Full power at brake release is a normal operation for heavily loaded aircraft.
The fence was built to shear. VC 10 tanker aircraft landing there with a frozen hose trailed could and did remove the approach lights, farmers hedge, chunks of road and the fence. 50-70 foot of 8 inch rubber hose filled with jet fuel with a metal basket at the end travelling at about 120-140 mph makes a mess. There had been a few cases with VC10 coming in with hoses trailed, unable to jettison where the approach lights, hedge and fence got taken out. I've GOT to see this bird with my own eyes one day! Ironically I was thinking that those engines look small considering the size of the craft & the payload it can carry. Then it showed me how much power those 'small' engines have 🤣
You see the size of the engines relative to the body, while also hanging a lot higher from the ground compared to normal jetplane. I don't see them any smaller than at least Boeing 737 engine size. Multiply it by 6 then it all make sense.
The engines are indeed powerful but by no means the most. The four engines on an Airbus A380 actually produce more thrust than the six on the Antonov. The most powerful engine I know of, the GE90-115 used on the Boeing 777 is more than twice as powerful as the Progress D-18 used in the Antonov, so the Antonov would only need three of them to do the same job.
I would have thought that an RAF base would have more substantial fencing than that, but as other's have commented, I guess there isn't that much choice when the runway is so close to a main road like that. Absolutely stunning

What was it carrying
Just imagine how rough of a roll-out that would be if all those wheels came off of old Walmart shopping carts.
Hahaa what
It still puzzles me til this day how a plane is able to line up nicely in the middle of the runway after a turn. Is there a camera at the nose wheel for the pilot to see the lines at the runway?
Mriya did not break the fence, rather knocked it down
Wth I wonder how many times the AN225 has left BZN n not knocked the fence down before?! I’m amazed the fence ain’t gone before with the VC10’s n L1011’s.
I bet they will replace it with a bigger one after that .
Don't count on it.
Молодець, Антоша, Гарно стартонув!
How do upset one aircrew it is Ukrainian not Russia there is big difference mind you they might be happy if the bill was sent to Russia
What an awesome bit of kit.
Time to build a few fence. LOL
Amazing! the power of the monster aircraft.
Brilliant! i was 30 feet to your left just out of the jet wash did you see the guy get blown off the fence behind you? I laughed that much I nearly dropped my camera!
I knew someone had to standing that close lol! We were at crash gate 7 stood on a load of piled up wooden pallets lol
I wonder how many crews are qualified/certified to fly this behemoth?
This plane is Ukrainian, not Russian.
What kind of spotter are these?
That's spotting 101.
No, it’s Russian.
@@Spectre15rus Separatist...

Years of government cuts to the MOD, and maintenance neglect finally taking its' toll
Exactly! ))
