The split tail is because it was originally designed to carry the Soviet Buran shuttle on it's back, and they were worried that a single tail would get too much turbulence behind the shuttle. And see the wings sag? That's their normal shape. They bend straight from the weight once it's in the air.

Definitely not the aircraft’s fault. A perimeter fence should be able to stand a departing aircraft’s blast. There are other aircraft have pretty intense jet blast. Full power at brake release is a normal operation for heavily loaded aircraft.
The fence was built to shear. VC 10 tanker aircraft landing there with a frozen hose trailed could and did remove the approach lights, farmers hedge, chunks of road and the fence. 50-70 foot of 8 inch rubber hose filled with jet fuel with a metal basket at the end travelling at about 120-140 mph makes a mess. That’s also why that area is marked with double yellow lines, traffic lights and used to have signs saying no waiting at any time where they are filming.
local brize council dont like photographers they make it most difficult for them. that fence wanted changing not very secure for the biggest base in uk.

Totally missed your chance to run down the runway. Also, who builds a fence at the end of a runway with the slats on the opposite of the post, away from where the wind/thrust would originate?
Having been based there for quite a few years, the fence was built that way so it would give when a tanker came in with a hose trailed. There had been a few cases with VC10 coming in with hoses trailed, unable to jettison where the approach lights, hedge and fence got taken out. Hence the reason it is a no parking/ stopping area on that road and there used to be signage saying not to wait / photograph from that area.

Special feature of D-18 engine - it must be "warmed up" at medium thrust for 3-5 minutes, before applying full takeoff thrust.
It wasn't even the full power. :) Just the 0.7 of the full power.

Secondly, I would be happy to make a bet that I know more about this aircraft than you. Thirdly, it is quite common for the pilots of the AN225 and 124 to carry out derated takeoffs when they aren’t carrying a load and only a small amount of fuel for short sectors. Fourthly, they DID perform a derated takeoff as per Captain Antonov’s onboard video. Good day, sir.

Having been based there for quite a few years, the fence was built that way so it would give when a tanker came in with a hose trailed. There had been a few cases with VC10 coming in with hoses trailed, unable to jettison where the approach lights, hedge and fence got taken out. Hence the reason it is a no parking/ stopping area on that road and there used to be signage saying not to wait / photograph from that area.

@@anglosaxon1622 we had a VC-10 hold off for 20 mins once whilst we had to get the civilian police to move some muppets. Plane came in and ripped everything out where they had been stood, was a chain link fence at the time and that was a mess for about 500 yds down the runway

Unfortunately some people are so stupid they don’t understand why there is a wooden, not wire fence at the end of the airport runway nor do they appreciate that parking in between the red lights is a) illegal and b) bloody stupid!
