It’s great to see more ”normal” runners like us out there 😊 I started running 3 years ago. 15-25 km per week. Now with a full time job, 2 kids, trying to upload to UA-cam when i can I’m running my first 100 km week 😮
@ yes, halfway now. I don’t know how people do this every week 😅 i’m not the fastest out there and ramping up the volym i’m running even slower than my normal easy pace so i don’t get to fatigue or injuried.
Aubrey, I am an OG here and I have cheered your success so hard, but I had fallen a bit away from the content evolution. I'm ngl, I am so pleased to see this return to being an average running trying to be less average. You are so inspiring. 🎉
I hear you and completely empathise with that perspective and it’s why I wanted to go back to this approach. There are some parts of the evolution that will stay but I’d like the heart of this channel to go back to what it was
Thanks Aubrey, look forward to following along. Same boat with work and family, have booked two half marathons for next year and looking for a marathon. Good reminder that I've been slacking on the calf raises! Hope it was a great Christmas with the family - best for 2025!
Love this Aubrey! My 2024 London Marathon training block was my highlight of this year after finally getting a ballot place. Got a PB and really connected with it
Aubrey, you felt it, you keep a promise, we love you for being average, at least I know exactly what you mean by it! THIS ONE COMES HUGE! I wanna say thank you brother :) 😅
Enjoyed this video. Keep it up Aubrey, i always work to time, either on my sessions, running easy, it's all done to time and very rarely based on distance 👍🏻 unless it's specific 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad to have you back bro! You are by far one of the most relatable runners on UA-cam. I respect your transparency and vulnerability most. God’s got you my brother 🙏🏽
For anyone struggling with shin splints, I highly recommend strengthening your front shin muscles in addition to the calf raises. For me the easiest, fastest and most effective way to do this is "toe tapping". Stand up and maybe hold on to something, then just start tapping your toes to the ground both legs at the same time as fast as you can. After 20-30 seconds you'll start to feel a serious burn in the shin muscles. I learned this from Göran Winblad's "Foot & Ankle Strengthening" video, so kudos to him. If you struggle with shin splints a few minutes of these per week can absolutely transform your running life.
Hey Aubrey, I'm 40/100kg/6ft1 with a young family and a 9-5 job, I'm 4 weeks into my marathon training for my first marathon (Barcelona) in March. Current PBs 5k 23:30 10k 52:12 21.1k 1:57 Training Plan Monday gym strength Tuesday Run (zone 2 - 8k to 16k) Wednesday gym strength Thursday Run (interval or tempo) Friday gym strength Sat long Run (16 to 32k) Sun gym strength I would love to finish the marathon in 4 hours 🙏
You are so close to my running times it’s so weird. Well done with such a detailed plan. I sincerely hope you achieve your goal of getting a sub 4 marathon
For your push day id switch your shoulder press for a lateral raises. Since you’re already doing three chest presses it’s already targeting your front delt a lot. The lateral raises will help target the middle delts.
Aubrey, i don't mean to sound negative here, but you have never elevated your running times to a point where you've been anything but average. So to go "back to average" is what?
Don’t worry I don’t see this as negative at all, but I simply mean about how I target my videos. I am simply talking about who my videos are for, who I am targeting and how I make sure that my channel is routed on that premise. Nothing by to do with my running at all John!

Best for the 100km, that's going to be a serious achievement!

All great movements to get started! Love this!
This is a great shout Aubrey, good to get back to basics and be welcoming to people just starting out. Happy Christmas to you and your family bud.
Absolutely… I remember when I. Needed such a channel and therefore thought it’s time to get back to it. Cheers for the support

Bang average sums me up to a tee these days, so I’ll certainly be following your journey and using it as motivation for Manchester in April.
That’s the way to be for sure. Let’s get back to embracing who we are and enjoying this sport that we love
Hey Aubrey! You are absolutely right, great to see you contribute to bring our sport to more people! Merry Christmas, Jordi & Aisha from NL
Amazing, Aubrey. Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎄
Very kind of you Share I wish you nothing but an amazing and joyful 2025

Great stuff. One thing i would add is core and balance strengthening 🎉
Ageeed… I’m doing a separate programme specifically for Core. It’s a programme by James Dunne

That’s also my routine Aubrey. But I have to be more consistent in the gym. In a hurry to follow your adventure for the LTM.
That’s what it will take for us for sure, consistency can be a challenge when you have other commitments alongside the running/gym
you good brother! thanks for looking out for the average joes!

Back to basics 2025! For me it will be Back to injury Free 2025. Which means more gym work. Ugh 😫. Love your approach to it.
